Picture in Picture-like feature in 1.08
Posted by: jvcleave - 2007-07-31, 05:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I remember this wasn't officially PIP but prior to 1.08 I could watch a recording or LiveTV and hit the menu button to return to the menu and the video would play in a window. Is this feature still available? If I try this now nothing happens.

  DVB card in notebook support?
Posted by: HomerDK - 2007-07-31, 03:14 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi.

I got myself a notebook with a DVB-T USB card incorporated.
The program that came "DigitalTV" is very buggy and slow.
The recordings I tried with the program are very very good but program is to buggy, so I thought that GBPVR would be the best choice, but it doesn't seem that the DVB-T card is recognised by GBPVR.
In device manager it comes up with this name: "DTV-DVB UDTT 7047M USB 2.0 DVB-T Driver" and in properties of it the manufacturer is "Realtek".

Any chance of GBPVR support for this kind of DVB-T "card"?

Thanks

  Slimm GBPVR Red Icon
Posted by: macgyver - 2007-07-31, 03:13 PM - Forum: Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli - Replies (6)

This is probably a silly question that I just can't find the answer to anywhere.
I've just installed and it appears to be working fine but the tray icon is red - what does that signal?
Looks like a great app,
Cheers
Simon

GBPVR freezes while recording ATSC shows
Posted by: Anthony - 2007-07-31, 03:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (30)

I'm having problems with GBPVR while recording TV shows. I'll set it up to tape an over-the-air ATSC digital show overnight, and when I come back in the morning, I find the show quit recording partway into the show, and GBPVR's "show status" option still shows it as recording (which actually quit recording many hours ago).

I have two Hauppauge HVR-1600 tuner cards, and am using the DVR-MS mux.

I haven't been able to figure out what causes some shows to record fine, and other's abort. It's been fairly random so far.

I'm losing a lot of shows because of this.

I've attached my logs.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Anthony

  New PC Recommendations
Posted by: chrisv - 2007-07-31, 12:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Hello all. I'm starting to think about getting a new PC to replace my old PIII. I'd like some suggestions for parts. I have been researching this topic non-stop for the last 2 weeks and my head is dizzy with all the information (seems like a million motherboards to choose from and whether to go AMD X2 or Core 2 Duo).

My requirements are as follows. For the time being, capture satellite through S-Video on my Hauppauge HVR1600 to be used for live tv (playback on my 46" Toshiba rear projection CRT). The PC will be in a separate room, but I have Cat5/E running through the house and I already have Component/Digital audio baluns that I can use (http://www.muxlab.com/products/ve_vga_co...alun.html). As such, I need to have component out of my PC as well as digital audio out (coax).

OTA HD is not easy to catch in Montreal but I am hoping to catch some channels in the future so I want the PC to be able to play HD.

This PC will only be used as an HTPC. Live TV is a must (rewind, pause, ...). Of course, I will be using GBPVR. I will not be playing any games on this PC.

I have been thinking about getting a board with integrated graphics but I have yet to find one that has component out. I know dedicated video cards do (many of the Asus Geforce starting with the 6x series).

Any suggestions for motherboard and CPU? I'd love to hear people's feedback.

Thanks in advance.

  v1.x BaseButtonListUiTask plugin/skin question
Posted by: DronnyBoyd - 2007-07-31, 12:09 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (20)

I'm developing (slowly, never enough free time) a video-playing plugin using the 'Hello' plugin example (using BaseButtonListUiTask) as the basis. I'm having trouble figuring out how the various CompositeImage definitions in the skin file map onto stuff in the code.

If one item in the list-view (in details mode) represents a folder, what makes it use the "DetailsViewNormalFolder" or "DetailsViewSelectedFolder" rather than the "DetailsViewNormalItem" image? Put another way, how do I tell the list (UiList object) that a specific item is a folder item and not just a file (for example)?

On a slightly related note, is it ok to override the base class GetRenderList(), and just tack some extra elements of my own onto the end of the render list returned by the base class? I'm hoping I don't need to override render() as well.

cheers

Dronny

Canvas turns white after menu displayed...
Posted by: jeffdran - 2007-07-31, 07:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I've just installed GB-PVR on Vista, and properly configured everything to the specifics I've had that worked on XP. With the settings I've used, there should be no interference, but as soon as I open GB-PVR I see the menu, and before I can click Live TV, the canvas/window turns white. If I click madly around I will see the menu again for a split-second. Any clues as to what is causing this? I'm about to try a different skin besides the default and play around with my GFX settings on my video card, but I don't think that will do anything. I appreciate anything anyone has to offer.

schedule conflict returns after being resolved
Posted by: cginzel - 2007-07-31, 02:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

running 1.0.8 and i've just noticed tonight that i'm having a schedule recording conflict that seems to return each night. it is for a future show that is several days into the future. and so i guess when the EPG update occurs it must be rescheduling the one show i'm canceling in order to remove the conflict. does this make sense? is GBPVR not supposed to remember the removed show? I don't remember this being a problem previously. i'm still getting my TV schedule from zip2it via Jim's i-xmltv batch program.

recording service hanging when signal is dropped
Posted by: pvruser - 2007-07-31, 02:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hello All

i've been having some issues with GBPVR lately and the logs dont help much. i finally had some more time to troubleshoot and the cause is one of my tuners that's sometimes losing signal while recording. when signal is lost the recording stops (and may restart creating a second file with -2 appended). however the green tray icon stays on even hours later after the recording should have finished. this causes the second tuner to also destory its current recording (if any second recording running at that time). no recordings are attempted after the signal is dropped.
the only way to fix it is to manually restart the service. the logs do not have anything between the signal dropout failure and the service restart not even a locked=0 that others got. they simply end (from my tests i think they end right when it lost signal.)

i've also tried the command

gbpvrcli.exe /inprogress 1 /mes "{Status}\n{Title}\n{DescriptionNoWrap}\n\n"

which should display the in-progress recording and indeed it's displaying the name of the "broken" recording after the recording should have finished.

any ideas how i could fix this? i've already made all scripts to help me out with power management but this thing is driving me crazy!

Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone has been working the Avermedia M780 for QAM? I haven't seen anyone post any successes.
