TV guide recording = auto rec + manual rec
Posted by: treble - 2007-07-19, 05:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I can't seem to find out what is causing this.

Specs:
GBPVR 099
Haupage dual DVB-t for MCE
OS is XP Pro SP2 (not MCE)

When a TV guide Scheduled recording begins, I get both the scheduled recording of the program plus GBPVR starts a manual recording of the show.

This means that:
a) I can't watch another channel, I have to play one of these two recordings
b) to free up a tuner I have to kill the recording which inevitably is the scheduled one (tv guide) which then means the manual recording doesn't stop at the end of the program but just keeps on

I cannot find the way to stop the manual recording process. There just doesn't seem to be any where in gbpvr to stop a manual recording so for now I am shutting down the PC.

Initially I thought this was overzealous clicking but the problem arises everytime I record from TV Guide

My other issue, which may be related is that when ever I start GBPVR the tuners are not "online". So before I can watch or record anything I have to restart the recording service.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these issues that they can offer some advice on please?

thank you
Glass

  Weather plugin doesn't show up?
Posted by: arjones85 - 2007-07-19, 04:23 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

Hello!

I am very new to gb-pvr, having migrated over from Media Portal, and am having an issue with the weather plugin. I am running gbpvr 1.0.8 and downloaded the latest beta version of the weather plugin, installed it, made sure it was enabled in the plugins config, as well as did the settings to put my zip code in. According to the plugins config it is set to be listed on the main menu, however when opening gb-pvr weather never shows up! There is no button to click on for it.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

  Can't kill comskip
Posted by: bungle - 2007-07-19, 02:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I can't kill comskip from the task manager - I get an access denied error. My normal user isn't admin, but I'm pretty sure I've tried as an admin to kill it. What I don't get is the user has rights to start and stop GB-PVR, so the comskip must be running under different rights than GB-PVR (W2K doesn't show the user, apparently). It's rarely an issue, but sometimes when I know I don't want a show or just watched it I can't delete until comskip is done, but I can't kill comskip to speed up the process. Is comskip run with one of the system accounts?

IR-200L fails to change the channel
Posted by: jman0918 - 2007-07-19, 02:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

It was working before the upgrade; I think I have a handle on what's happening. The first time the recording service or PVR-X2uses the IR remote blaster, the channel doesn't change. The second time, it does.

I've got a pair of Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150's on an nForce 150 board sporting a 2400+ Tbred, 1/2 gig PC2100 and an ATI 9700, and I'm using one IR Blaster. We've chatted before about driver limitations *sigh*.

In any case, I'd like to make all the channel changes. Please advise.

  No OSD
Posted by: oakfellow - 2007-07-19, 01:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I've been playing with the new interface (with the 2nd monitor patch), and noticed a problem: I don't see the OSD controls for either live video (pause, etc.) or recorded video (forward, back, pause, play, etc.). I see the bottom title bar and position indicator up top, but not the controls themselves.

  Volume too low
Posted by: MorrisonHiker - 2007-07-19, 01:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I noticed this with GBPVR and PVRX2. Even with the volume all the way up, I still have to turn the volume up to hear programs (Live TV, recorded programs, whatever).

The problem with having the speakers turned up occurs when using any other Windows program. EVERYTHING IS WAY TOO LOUD.

Can I set the volume of GBPVR to be louder in the config files or somewhere?

Thanks

  USB-UIRT not working in PVRX2
Posted by: dinki - 2007-07-19, 12:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

My USB-UIRT works fine when controlling the legacy GBPVR interface but the same remote does not work using PVRX2. I see the Hauppage remotes needed an ini change, but I'm not seeing any reference to GBPVR in my usb-uirt-remote.ini file. Any ideas on what I need to do to get my remote working again?

  Insight into tuner selection logic
Posted by: wannabepvr - 2007-07-18, 10:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Please Mr. Sub, could you provide some insight into the mysterys of tuner allocation logic. Big Grin

I had some recordings last night that looked like this in the guide.

Channel 1: A-----A
Channel 2: B-----BC-----C

I have three tuners. I expected The 3rd would start on program C and allow the other two to complete thier post padding. But instead
the tuner on B stoped and then started C.

All tuners have all chanels maped.

Back when I had only two tuners I found the <PreferAltinatingSource> set true worked well. But I did think that was only for two tuners.

I know there have been many requests to manually select the tuner - I am not looking to do that, just wondering - how does it work?
