My issues with 1.00.08 and MVP
Posted by: goobie - 2007-07-09, 07:23 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

First off Sub, thanks for the time spent to give us such a sexy product. Here are couple of things I've noticed so far:

1. PROGRESS BAR: The progress bar is gone, the one showing transcoding progress and movie playback progress when a movie is paused - I need that to see how far I can skip forward.
2. MVP REBOOTS: When all the plugins above VIDEO LIBRARY are unticked so that VIDEO LIBRARY shows up as the first item on the TV UI. (I only want VIDEO LIBRARY and PHOTO LIBRARY on the TV UI so I want to remove the ones I don't use). If I now press either the UP or the DOWN button reboots the MVP. This doesn't happen when there is another option above VIDEO LIBRARY eg, MUSIC LIBRARY.

If I may sound ungrateful and request something for the next version: How about the ability, eg in the movie library, to move to the last filename by pressing UP at the first filename. Same for going to the first file when you press down once more at the last filename. I have LOTS of video clips and I have to repeatedly (x10e6) press up to get back to the top.

Thanks.

  gpbvr screen washed out
Posted by: pvrdude - 2007-07-09, 06:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

This is a typical Windows thing in which the program doesn't write the GUI or paint the GUI so that the program looks 'transparent.'

Now what do I do? Reinstall gbpvr? I rebooted. Same problem. Before, it was working but now it won't start properly. I guess you can't tweak settings if you can't see anything.

I was going to ask a question about how to get the Hauppauge IR Blaster listed in the Channel Changer section of the Capture Card configuration (screen). The Hauppauge IR Blaster Plugin was not listed in the Channel Changer settings of the 'Edit Recording Resource' page.

Anyway, something is wrong and I'm not sure what has happened but gbpvr won't start up properly anymore. Is this due to the beta or did I do something or what?

Edit: Aside - this page below looks very helpful. But, how do I get to that point? I need to know how to do the above step and fix the program.

  Manual Recording errors in logs
Posted by: Graham - 2007-07-09, 05:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

The attached logs may indicate that something is not working as intended even though everything looks OK on screen.

This is what I did:

Start PVRX2
Select Recordings
Select Manual Recordings
Press on-screen Cancel button
Press Back button on remote
Select Exit

EWA Not Displaying One Specific Channel
Posted by: netwerk23 - 2007-07-09, 03:11 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (1)

Hello!
First, many thanks to the developers of EWA, it's almost perfect.

My issue is that the program guide on EWA doesn't show our channel 14, it goes 13->15. The program guide in GBPVR, however, does show 14. Here's where it gets stranger, the program guide in EWA does show the content of channel 14 on channel 416 (which is a copycat channel of the real 14). However, GPBR doesn't show 416.

So, if I schedule a record from GBPVR, the channel is there and it's fine. However, EWA doesn't show the channel, so I don't see if the tuner is in use. EWA fails to schedule anything on 416, probably because GBPVR doesn't think that channel exists.

Does EWA get its grid listing from the same access DB that GBPVR uses? I'm on Zap2It, EWA build 63, the most recent GBPVR flavor. Thanks!

  video output card?
Posted by: glgeek - 2007-07-09, 02:25 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

Greetings,

I apologize for my first post being a request for help, but I was directed to this site by someone who said this is where the answers are.

I am trying to help out the media centers in 7 of our buildings to display computer generated content over our internal cable system. They are already delivering DVD/VCR based content. Now they would like to provide digital media such as PowerPoint presentations.
I have a computer and assume that I need a video card with video/audio out. It also looks like (from reading through this forum) that a PCI card might do what I need without purchasing a high end (expensive) scan converter.

It appears that our modulator has one video (coax) and one audio (mono) input and is being fed from a DVD/VCR player. I would connect the computer to the DVD/VCR player via composite video and use the player as a switcher. There is no s-video in on the player.

So, my question is, what would you recommend as a video output card/device to connect the computer to the DVD/VCR ? I was hoping to keep it under $200.

Thank you for any advice you can offer.

1.0.8 - "Recordings" screen load time
Posted by: Carlito - 2007-07-09, 01:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Whenever I enter the recordings screen it seems to take a while to load, ie. just sits at the main menu for about 5-10 seconds, then loads.
Then when I'm in the recordings screen it does the same thing if I choose another view.

I've attached my logs with the following senario.
1. I load PVRX2
2. I go to the recordings screen
3. after initial load, i choose the 'Ready' option.
4. I choose main menu.
5. I quit PVRX2.

  -OnlyEmptyEPG / - UpdateEPGOnly Commandline
Posted by: herrmannj - 2007-07-09, 12:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I realized that this commandline options now brings up the entire gui.
It is there a tweak to prevent loading the gui because of batch processing ?

If not please add it to wishlist :-)
