Long time lurker, first time poster! This forum has helped me tremendously through the years and I have been able to figure out any problems I've had in here so thank you to all who have contributed! Today I've encountered an issue that I can't resolve...
I noticed I was missing all of my XMLTV channels today. I've emptied and updated EPG but that didn't resolve it. My XMLTV file is updated and has all of the needed information but it won't populate in NPVR TV Guide/Channels. The channels that information is obtained through OTA (i.e. DVB/ATSC EPG) are successfully displayed in the TV Guide/Channels.
Hi,
i am trying to run 2 streams on the same m3u playlist (XC IPTV user).
i can record 1 channel but if i try to record another channel the same time, i get "no tuner available" error.
same goes for recording 1 channel and watching another / watching 2 different channels.
i will note that the IPTV provider allows concurrent streaming (i can do it through other apps)-
so i guess the issue is with the settings or something like this.
already tried using the windows latest NextPVR / arm32v7 docker version.
By coincidence, while developing/testing my top movie recording plugin, I noticed that EPG update fails when a tuner is in use. I have HDHomeRun with 4 tuners and 3 were free (checked with both NextPVR Device Status and HDHomeRun tunerstatus webinterface. It was the first tuner that was in use by NextPVR recording RTL4 The Voice of Holland.
I have attached my log. In log you find that I have tried several times. Two times by setting the datetime of EPG update to a minute or so later than now, one time by pressing the Update EPG, one time by first emptying EPG and then doing an Update EPG (all from webinterface). During this whole time tuner 1 was in use recording.
Key entrypoints / timeline in log:
2021-01-22 20:04:07.239 [DEBUG][30] Setting '/Settings/General/EPGUpdateTime' to '20:05:00'
2021-01-22 20:06:48.478 [INFO][47] Finished updating EPG

updating channels using m3u does not have any problems.the list appears and you just add channels. using update channels when the initial load up was with xc results in a blank splash screen.surely i don't have to reload everything from scratch every time i want to add a channel.
comments please
I have just been searching for an episode which failed to record (tuner trouble, possibly resolved now) but its not being aired on any channel for the length of the current EPG.
Looking at the advanced recording options, I've worked out how to find all episodes on all channels and set a recording, but only if they are in the current EPG.
Would it be possible to add a "Wish List" feature to create and advanced recording, and each EPG update, NextPVR scrapes it for any hits, and sets up a recording?
For the last 2 months - since updating the backup software killed the HTPC, I have been having problems with the Kodi install.
To save time, I used an Old backup of Windows 8.1 - which I have been using, as it gives better picture quality than 10 and allowed 5.1 DTS over SPDIF.
First with Leia 18.9 things weren't the same as before - poor deinterlacing and terrible picture breakup, if recording more than 1 program at a time. (even on the same mux)
Last weekend the HTPC froze - first in Kodi and then while rebooting (which required buttoning after 5 minutes of stuckness). After the restart all the settings in Kodi had disappeared
Having seen that Matrix RC1 had just been released, I decided to remove Leia and replace with Matrix and set up from scratch again.
Problem 1 - 64 bit Matrix would install and run once. After shutting down Kodi, it would then crash every time on trying to reopen it.
Following a reboot, again it would start only once, then crash every time.
This had happened back when I first installed Leia, when NPVR v5 first came out so have had to use 32 bit version.
Problem 2 - Using 32 bit Matrix, in the EPG, trying to open a program causes Kodi to crash 90% of the time. Luckily going into Live TV it works. Also the epg is very juddery when scrolling and also opening recordings is a 50% chance of crashing Kodi.
Have tried the latest nightly 21/01/21 and also the latest Jenkins build of NPVR Addon all without success.
Also noticed that my windows 10 Matrix 64 bit install is having the same epg crashing problem.
I am going to rebuild Windows 8.1 from scratch with minimum software to run Kodi + NPVR and see if that helps.
First Question Which version of Matrix and the NPVR addon should I try first?
I have been using NextPVR Version 4 for a very long time. Yesterday the ZAP2XML process to update the TV Guide failed to update the guide. I ran the .bat manually so I could see why the tv guide wasn't getting updated.
The end of the log is:
[4] Getting: http://mobilelistings.tvguide.com/Listin...ration/180
[Attempt 3] 0:404 OK
Failed to download within 3 retries.
Server out of data? Temporary server error? Normal exit anyway.
Writing XML file: tvguide.xml
Completed in 16s (Parse: 16s) 0 stations, 0 programs, 0 scheduled.
Is there anyone who knows what I need to do?
I tried uninstalling version 4, then installed version 5 - but version 5 doesn't have analog device so I went back to version 4. I have manually run the Update process and still no TV Guide.
