Right now the current method of resolving conflicts has me juggling between two screens.
Screen#1:" shows you the current episode information and offers you to delete this program. or goto...
Screen#2 and lets you see what the other show names are. If you want to cancel the the other shows here is your chance.. if you decide you want to cancel the origional program.. you have to exit out of the conflict then go back into the first screen.
Usually I'll want to know what the show epidoses are so I can say "Hey I've already seen that episode.. I'll cancel that one" (and I'm only getting one episode description)
My suggestion:
Screen#1 shows you the current show with it's episode information(like it currently has) (maybe a button to cancel it if that would help)
Screen#2 shows you the conflicting show with it's episode information.
Gives you the option to a)cancel the conflicting show... B) cancel the other shows..(on the same screen) C) leave the conflict in place
I have problems that my audio will get out of sync after I've had LiveTV on for 1+ hours. I've searched for this issue, and I've seen a lot of replies that state you should change the combination of the video decoder, audio decoder and audio renderer.
I have the Cyberlink PowerDVD 6 Deluxe decoders (PDVD7), with the video and audio decoders specifically set to Cyberlink, not the System default. I had the audio renderer set to System default. So the first thing I did is change the audio renderer to Cyberlink as well. Seems to work, but when I try exiting a recording, GBPVR freezes and I have to kill it with the task manager. Because of this, I switched back to System default as a freeze on a recording was not good for the WAF
I watched a DVD and I didn't have the sync problems. I guess I don't understand why the Cyberlink video/audio decoders would not work with each other in LiveTV mode, while they do in DVD (I haven't noticed the out of sync with Recordings either).
So, do I need to change decoders or the renderer? I have no other video decoders listed, and the MPEG Audio decoder is the only other audio decoder. I have a few renderers, like Directshow, SigmaTel Audio (soundcard), etc.
Is it possible to play hd dvd's on gbpvr. I have bought the xbox 360 external hd player and have xp recognizing it. Just want gbpvr to be able to play my movies
Quote: the quality jump from 720p to 1080i is extremely misleading considering most of the time 720p looks better than 1080i, and 1080p is not worth it currently. You might consider 1080i or 1080p true hd content, but there are millions of avid fans (especially avsforums) who consider 720p true HD content also. Saying 1080p is TRUE HD content is a push by marketing departments considering it does very little over 720p.
I don't have any HDTV sets or tuners so I really don't know if the person who said this knows what he's talking about.
Hi, this my first post on the boards although I have been a long time lurker and fan of GBPVR.
I recently started building my first HTPC after getting hold of an old OEM pc.
The specs are:
P4 2.4Ghz
512mb generic ram
MSI 648 motherboard (closest match as the actual board is an unbranded OEM version)
GeForce4 420 MX
ancient Seagate 20GB hard drive
Hauppauge Nova T 500
XP Pro SP2
After installing the Nova card into the PCI slot I tried installing the drivers from the cd but windows could not install the drivers although it reconized the hardware.
After calling Hauppuage tech support I was directed to the newest version of the drivers which I downloaded and tried but got the same error.
After a second 20 min call to hauppauge I was told that I had a faulty card so took it back to PC World where they tested it and confirmed it as working!
I think the problem lies with the XP because the hardware and drivers are correct but it won't install.
Does anyone know what files are needed by XP to support installing TV cards?
i work for a university and we offer a service where we record TV programs for students. i am piloting Real Server as a streaming solution and have a system set up where i batch process raw video into Real streams for people using an Intel desktop machine and a VB script. all very simple. i want to replace our existing VHS setup with GB-PVR (with two Hauppauge Nova T 500s, very nice cards!) and then have a script copy the output files to a network drive where my desktop will pick them up and encode them into Real streams, to be served by my Real server. This way, i get to use the scalability of my Real server (and the programmes can be served off-campus) and keep the PVR machine free to be recording more programmes rather than using CPU time streaming the files to our network. the only problem so far is that my command-line Real producer cannot decode the ms-dvr files to recompress them as Real format. i have a cyberlink multiplexer installed on the machine. so far, pretty every filetype i have thrown at my script has been successful as long as Windows has a filter/codec to decode it. am i up against a limitation of the ms-dvr format or is this because i'm not using GB-PVR to re-encode the files?
Need a little help here. A great poker night landed me the money to finally grab the Harmony Remote Ive been wanting. Got the 720 (exclusive to Costco...the square version of the 880). Spent the better part of 4 hours programming keys and troubleshooting.
My problem is the response. It is fine with the Dig Cable receiver and TV, but is sloooooow and sometimes double hits certain keys (up, down, and skip forward/backward are the worst offenders)
Originally I used a Cyberlink remote with Girder 3.3 with no issue whatsoever, all keys mapped. There is zero delay and will process requests as quickly as i can press a button. I used that remote as the learning remote for the Harmony. I have tried everything but cant get the lag to go away. I have changed the interkey delay to 0 and have also changed the repeater number to 0. i cant think of anything id be missing. Any suggestions?
Also, Id like to know how the rest of you are interfacing your remotes to your HTPC. I have an MCE remote and base that i could use to try to reprogram the remote and use as the base but that would have to wait for the weekend. All your info i'm sure would help. Thanks.
I have just installed a Twinhan ATSC card and am now getting "Failed to locate configured BDA capture device" when trying to watch tv. I have previously used a HVR950 on this machine for atsc without problems. I have attached the filtercheck file. Any ideas?
