I'm a newbie when it comes to DTV and HDTV. Is there a way I can record and/or view digital and hi-def signals via my GB-PVR set up (WinTVPVR2usb & MediaMVP) on my digital HD flat panel TV? All help appreciated.
So I just moved for the summer, and am having to set everything up again with different things available to me...
I now have everything working EXCEPT the MVP...
I used to have it connected to my PC through a wireless router, but because of where I'm living I can't use the router to connect them to eachother, or to connect my PC to the internet...
So I now have a USB-wireless device to connect the PC to the internet, and a wired cable connected to a Netgear switch, which is plugged into the MVP... I'm using Vista, and am sharing my internet connection on the PC.
When I boot up the MVP, it finds the computer, and the server.
Then it loads the application.
Then it suddenly reboots, and can't find the server again (unless I unplug the MVP's power and plug it back in...)
Any idea why it sees it for 20 seconds, and then loses it?
This is odd...... Today (around noon) I checked the weather and noticed that it had the forecast for Today, Tomorrow and Monday. I suspect it thinks that it was Saturday but i checked the system clock and it's set right. Is there a log for the Weather plugin so I can see what if any activity (like updating) it's doing ?
I am trying to get EventGhost and the Microsoft mce remote working again and in my efforts I'm trying to figure out how I will map the color buttons.
I figure to start I have the extra 2 buttons (Clear, Enter) at the bottom but need to map the other 2 color buttons (mostly because seeing VA which works alot with the color buttons).
So I am posting here to get ideas from those of you that have done this.
I have an idea for a simple panel displaying the contents of a flat file. So I started looking in the wiki development section but haven't figured it out enough.
To simply display the contents of a flat file would I have to build a plugin (do programming) or can I somehow just build a panel through some skinning ?
As my last DVD Recorder died after I brought it 5 times into repair last jear, I decided to build my own HDD-DVD-Recorder. Soon, I decided to build a whole Media Center which allows me also to watch WebTV,...
So I searched in google and found your Project.
It is a really great and good-looking project. But I miss one part for perfection: The Easy to use and built-in DVD Recorder which burns my recorded Video Files to a DVD, giving me the possibility to watch it on every DVD-Player I have or my friends have. A nice-looking DVD Menu would help, too.
Yes, I know, that there is a Utility called Showburner, but my problem with that Tool ist the NTSC-Standard. It's PAL in Germany, which seems not to be good working now with ShowBurner.
I have a mb with 3 pci slots and a pcie slot (that I want to reserve for a possible future graphics card). So I was thinking hey why not fill that last pcei slot with another tuner card. A dual tuner card at that. i am thinking of adding another tuner card. However looking at the B: "Real" Dual Analogue (MPEG2 Encoder) Cards section it appears that there really isn't one out there thats supported. I'm sure this is kept up to date but wanted to check to be sure before giving up on the idea.
I'd like to turn my regular Xbox into a media extender. I know this can be done with Windows Media Center but has anybody ever tried it with GBPVR? I'd like also still use it as a game console. Any thoughts? Thx.
Has anyone had success using Cheval's directv.exe program and usb-serial cable to change channels on a DirecTV H20 receiver ?
I've read notes elsewhere on the web indicating successful useage of an IOGear GUC232A USB to Serial adapter plugged into the H20's USB port plus a null modem cable plugged into serial port...but not necessarily with Cheval's program. I've used his directv.exe program for years w/ no problems but just upgraded to the H20 receiver and can't get it to receive a response from the receiver. Can anyone provide any input on:
1) BAUD RATE - I've seen varying reports..use 115200 vs 9600
2) COM port settings - FLOW CONTROL, BAUD RATE, etc.
3) Do I need to install the drivers for the IOGear adapter? (seems to be for using the USB end in the COMPUTER..no vice-versa)
4) DirecTV receiver updates-I've read that perhaps the USB port is disabled or the baud rate is changed via most recent software updates. I have an H20-600 and my software version is 0F14.
