I am running 98.13, and haven't viewed the forums since January. I used to be a regular, but seldom find the time (or the need) 98.13 runs nice and stable for me, but something recently has been giving me grief with one of the gbpvr processes hogging all CPU cycles. My CAPDVHS is also doing it every now and then, so I assume it is a driver issue...
Anyway, what cool features have I missed since 98.13? I am starting to re-read some of what I have missed...
I'm purchasing a PCI-E graphics card for my PVR and am looking for some recommendations. I'd like to be able to play Microsoft Flight Simulator X at medium-high quality (on all settings) with no lag. (I know that some of you here have experience with Microsoft FSX.) Noise is a factor so something with passive cooling is preferable. Would something like this be sufficient?
Or should I just wait for DirectX10 cards and the FSX DX10 patch?
I noticed today that when right-clicking the tray icon and mousing to Pending, the pop-up display said a program scheduled for tonight was actually pending for Tomorrow. Opened GB-PVR and everything was OK, then I went back to Slimm and this time Clicked on the "Pending Tomorrow" entry, and it said "Will record Today" and then an instant or two later the pop-up started working correctly.
This happened just a few minutes ago (6:15pm local time, for a show due to be recorded at 9:00pm tonight). It was disconcerting, so I wonder how Slimm updates its floating info??? Wasn't right today...
I have a Freecom DVB-T & Analog USB stick, model no. 27442. I had it receiving analog TV with the accompanying ArcSoft software, but I can't figure out how to configure it under GBPVR. Any hints?
I have searched the forums and the net in general, and can't find any details.
I'm just curious if there's a new version of GBPVR on the horizon?
I'm not happy with 99.12. It does all kinds of weird shit. I'm actually regretting the move from 96.08 since it was so very stable. I really only use the basic functions anyway.
Going back to 96.08 seems daunting with the database format change. I feel like I would need to start over from square one (fresh xp install). If there's a new release coming soon I can hang in there for a bit and give it a go.
Generally, WebAdmin is working fine for me, but I am having trouble with the 'video library' function. 'Stream' and 'Download' work fine, but when I try 'Play' I just get offered a very small file (200-300 bytes) rather than the actual file (1 Gb +). Any ideas?
I will be setting up a new HTPC and I would like it to be able to a) stream to other computers on my network and b) stream over the internet.
a) I was thinking that I could just network the pcs. Other than that, how can I get a nice GUI to navigate around my shows. Also, will my network pcs be able to read recoreded shows or will they need to be transcoded first?
b) I know orb does this, is there a slicker way to do it?
Again, I emphasize free. I do have a laptop sitting around that I could turn into a server
Hi, I have a maybe simple question... Is there a command I can use to update the EPG? I made a bat file for downloading an xml file, and I want to add a line in the batfile to automaticly update the EPG, when the file is downloaded
