  Internet Access
Posted by: 235301 - 2007-05-08, 03:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I have GBPVR setup on an LCD TV. What I would like to do is also allow easy internet access on the same LCD TV. What do other users typically do? I am thinking of buying a wireless keyboard/trackball combo. But how do you switch easily from GBPVR to say Internet Explorer?

  windows 2003 server <<-->> (enhanced) web admin
Posted by: JanBoeren - 2007-05-08, 03:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I installed gbpvr on w2k3 server. everything works fine except web admin. When accessing the webadmin i got following:

Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Anyone who can help me?

  New setup - advice please? Cheap freeview boxes?
Posted by: danjerman - 2007-05-08, 12:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi All,

I've been using XPMCE for over a year now but am moving to a larger house where I need the client/server capabilities of GBPVR (I'm really happy to be moving away from a MIcrosoft solution!). However I have a couple of questions :

1) I currently use 2 x Sky digiboxes (I'm in th UK) and a Hauppauge PVR 500 card which controls these two boxes with ease. In the new place, I need to buy 2 x freeview decoders instead of the sky digiboxes. Will GBPVR control the Hauppauge IR blaster so that the freeview boxes will be controlled? I haven't bought the freeview boxes yet...is there anything I should go for in particular?

2) I plan to use Homeplug (200M) to connect MediaMVP boxes to the LAN for various TVs around the house (up to 3). Has anyone got any experience of using Homeplug for this purpose? Does it work?

3) Is it possible to use the GBPVR server as a 'normal' PC at the same time its being a server (I plan to have the server on constantly in the study).

Thanks for your help.

  Don't hit the yellow button!!
Posted by: nullfork - 2007-05-08, 11:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi!

Strange things happen when I hit the yellow button on my Hauppauge NOVA-T 500 remote during Live TV. After the button has been pressed Live TV will no longer work, even after reboots.

By "no longer working", I should be more specific. I get an error message (looks like a caught exception) saying something about shared memory and "this is often a sign other memory is corrupt" Sad

The only way to make Live TV work is to enable timeshifting in the config!

Luckily I've made frequent restore points during my various stages of setting up my PVR so I can always go back and restore to a point that works Smile

I'm presuming the yellow button makes a permanent config change, so without diffing the config xml before and after (which is my next step), does anyone know what this button does?

Stuart

  ACT IR200L & DirectTV D10
Posted by: jman0918 - 2007-05-08, 10:38 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I've got a PVR150 with an unavailable IR Blaster, and an IR200L sitting on my COM1 serial port, pointed at my satellite receiver. How do I get this thing to change channels on my DirectTV D10 receiver?

The IR200L executable locks up my pc. I dont know why this happens.

The D11.dat doesnt seem to work.

I'm a bit lost, please point me in the right direction.

  Hauppage Nova-T 500 driver fix for Australia
Posted by: erosco - 2007-05-08, 09:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Have a Nova-T? Getting choppy playback.. especially on ABC and SBS? Pulling your hair out?

DON'T GIVE UP!

I've found a thread on an MCE site that tells you how to fix this.. I can't believe Hauppage hasn't distributed an official fix.. read the thread and you'll be amazed.

  video conversion for n-gage :P
Posted by: terramir - 2007-05-08, 05:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello got a question is there anyway that anyone can write me a video conversion command line with the following parameters that would go inside the config.xml file?

video size= 176x144
Codec: Xvid Encoder
Bitrate: 96 kbps

Audio Settings

Frecuency: 16000 Hz
Bitrate: 24 kbps
Volume Boost: 250
and are these settings possible? Tongue would be my n-gage conversion btw: a 15 fps rate would probably be helpful

  Video playback not working on the MVP
Posted by: Jeff - 2007-05-08, 04:14 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (15)

I suppose I brought this upon myself by responding in another thread that I’d never had to rebuild my PC, but my PC died over the weekend. I have reinstalled the OS and apps, but GBPVR will no longer stream video to the MVP.

I hope it is something silly and easy to fix. I can see the GBPVR UI on the MVP (although it seems to take longer to first come up) and I can navigate though the plug-ins, but when I go to play a video the duration shows up as 1 second and when I try to skip forward in the video I get an object not found error. I can watch the same video running GBPVR on my PC and it works just fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jeff
