My guide is messed up, I have tried updating it manually and it was a no go.
GBPVR V.96
*I know its old but I can't get software recorder to work with anything newer. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."*
Its got new mixed with old. For example "House" was on last night the description matched perfectly. Today Getting ready to record "Mythbusters" but it look like an old episode. But what caught my eye was what was on now, "It takes a theif" which never matched the description, nor did the next episode. Then came on "How It's made" that didn't matched either so I check some other channels, some matched, some didn't.
Then at the end of the guide I have two gaping sections for the E! channel It suppose to be on 65 *which it actually says channel number but its at then end of guide.
Last Sunday night, just a few hours before "Battlestar Galactica' I noticed it was going to fail the recording because it had two over lapping section about "Battlestar Galactica" with the same description.
I have searched the forums on how to start GB-PVR and have it go directly to Live TV, but have been unsuccessful. Is there a way for Live TV to start automatically when GB-PVR starts? What I'm specifically looking for is the MPV to auto-start in Live TV mode.
This is in no way connected to GBPVR but thought someone here may have a solution....
I'm looking to setup a forum similar to this one to use for my team at work.
I have been totaly unsuccessful trying to install any server side software on my godaddy account and don't have the time at present to figure it out. So I'm looking for something web based. Preferably a paid (but cheap) service so I do not have to have advertising on my forum.
Hey Guys, I was just recently playing around with the search guide skin, and was wondering if anybody knew a way to get the SearchControl element to show more rows.
I'm really frustrated trying to get my new Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT to run in my setup.
However, I have still after several days of trying to make it run yet to get the recording service to truly accept the card, and start recording.
During setup an channel scanning in Config, I got hangs/crashes that either locked the entire machine up, or at least forced a reboot.
Currently the tuning assistant is actually able to show the first recieved channel in the tuning window in the "Mapping ..." submenu in Config, so there is some kind of 'life'.
That just adds to the frustration of not getting the channels in GBPVR after mapping them into the EPG.
I simply get no TV through, and makes GBPVR recording unreliable even for my remaining PVR-350.
I've moved the card physically between the two PCI-E slots to no avail.
I'm using the latest drivers from Terratecs website.
This is an extract from the recordingservice.exe-native log with some suspicious looking lines in it, but all logs are zipped and attached..
I'm now at a dead end, so any help or inspiration is greatly appreciated.
TIA
Niels
PS: To add insult to injury I have somhow lost all sound on the PC thats running GBPVR in connection with this installation (although I have a slight doubt that it may be already introduces when I upgraded to my Broadcom RAID.
I have my MVP and GBPVR up and running for the most part, but I am having a couple of problems.
The first one (and hopefully the easiest to solve,) is I am having trouble getting the aspect ratio to display correctly. I have a regular screen tv, but most of my MP4s (encoded with nero digital) are in widescreen format. All I seem to be able to do is either scrunch the picture into the 4:3 or lop off the sides. How do I get the MVP to display the picture in its original format?
I have also downloaded ZProcess, but I can't get that to do it for me either.
The other problem I am having is that I can not get all of my mp4's to play through the mvp. I can play them all fine on the computer using the gbpvr software, but not onto my tv.
I had an experience last night with a channel not being populated in my TV Listings (plugin used from main menu) and TV Guide (during Live TV). Channel 70, E!, didn't have guide data. I got help on how to solve that, which ended up being the channel name on labs.zap2it.com changed from ETVP to EP. This process exposed several problems, and I'm not sure who owns each problem, GB-PVR or plugin author.
Pretty sure this is XMLTV tool issue. If channel name changes, this should be automatically handled. Imagine an ignorant user trying to fix this problem. I'm using XMLTV, and found that it stores channel data in .xmltv\tv_grab_na_dd.conf. By deleting this file and running UpdateEPG.bat, I got channel 70 E! populated in both TV Listings and TV Guide.
It should download channel data each time to a temp copy, and compare names for matching channel numbers, so it can realize that 70 changed from ETVP to EP. Maybe have an option to force name changes instead of warning the user of a name change was found, do you want to accept the change?
By doing this, E was populated with guide data, but it was shown as being channel 75. I ran config.exe and edited my capture sources, and it said EP was Source Channel 70. I then did a dangerous thing ... ran SQLiteSpy.exe to see the channel listings under CHANNEL and saw that while "name" column said "70 EP", the "channel_number" column said 75! I edited it to 70, and then it was listed correctly in TV Guide and TV Listings as 70. Channel was watchable in both cases.
I then ran UpdateEPG.bat and then had recording conflicts. I have a show recorded 2-3pm every day on a channel, I have 2 tuners, and no other shows record at that time. I searched the guide, and it had this show listed TWICE for every day at 2-3pm. Very strange.
I then ran config.exe and manually removed every channel under Capture Sources. Clicked Empty EPG button. Clicked Update EPG button. Unchecked channels I didn't want in listing. Did this process for both tuners.
Deleted the reoccurring recording for 2-3pm. Searched for the show. It was listed only once at 2-3pm, set the reoccurring recording again.
After all of the above, everything is now happy.
Things I want to understand better ...
What exactly does the Empty EPG button do?
What exactly does the Update EPG button do?
What happens when UpdateEPG.bat is run, either manually or according to schedule? I believe config.exe has a setting to run every day at a set time.
What happens when you click Remove button when editing a Capture Source?
How is channel data tied into the system? I have Capture Sources set to use XMLTV plugin, and pointing to my TVGuide.xml file created by xmltv.
If I don't need to know all of these details because there's a safer, easier way to understand and handle the problems I had, then I'll take that info instead.
There is a folder for music library2 within the Nuoro zipped folder on the wiki. But when I try to use the plugin with Nuoro it says cannot find the files within "skins\blue" not skins\nuoro. Shouldn't this theme theoretically work with Nuoro if the files are included in the Nouro skin folder?? I use the Community Skin right now but all of the text is large and off-center. With the Nuoro skin everything is aligned correctly. Help?
After the UK source for EPG - Radio Times and XMLTV has gone titsup for the moment....
Wishlist - some verification of EPG data files for the gbpvr update - especially when the 'empty epg' option is set. Maybe don't empty if the data file is less than xxx kb.
