  processing .ts while recording
Posted by: twelvepbrs - 2007-03-28, 06:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

given that comclean can be configured to run on a show while it is recording, i assumed that i could access a recording (.ts) while it is still streaming with other software for processing, i tried to use VLC to transcode (to another file) tonights episode of House, but it seams like the recording stopped as soon as VLC accessed the stream, i looked through the logs and they seem to indicate that the recording was completed as scheduled, i figured as long as VLC doesnt catch up to the live stream, it should be fine to start the transcoding while the show is still recording to save some time,
any ideas?

  Problem recording one specific show
Posted by: wasteland - 2007-03-28, 05:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hello,

I have GBPVR record 5 reoccurring shows each week and one specific show that is on every weekday every single time it is recorded has an error where when I watch the video it will hit some point where it will just stop playing. I don't have problems with any of my other recordings. I can skip ahead past this point but it loses about a minute of the video. The time where this error occurs changes from day to day. When the video is converted to XVID after the error point the audio becomes very out of sync. I understand that the audio sync on the XVID conversion isn't a problem with GBPVR but it shows how the video created by GBPVR has some problem. The show is also on at another time in the day and at that time it records fine. I have deleted the recording from my reoccurring recordings and re-entered it but the problem persists. I also had this problem with the last release of gb-pvr. I have attached my log files and I cleared out the log files a couple days ago so what hasn't been created in the last couple days wasn't included.

My PVR is WinTV-PVR-USB2

Thanks for your help

  closed caption, full screen toggles?
Posted by: toomanyhandles - 2007-03-28, 01:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I've rummaged in docs, but am missing something perhaps obvious.

I have the 350 and the latest GBPVR version, and the 350 remote.

I'd like to record with closed captions (US) enabled, but don't need them myself.

I've not found how to toggle them real-time, if they are enabled at recording. I can turn display on or off in config though.

Also, I'd like to watch in full screen mode (either the "new" one or via VMR*), but as I don't have a second monitor set up, popping back to windowed mode would be handy- but again the shortcut (remote or keyboard) eludes me.

Thanks for help, sorry if it it obvious and I missed it.

16x9 Community skin- images of videos
Posted by: davreh99 - 2007-03-28, 01:48 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (11)

I am using the Community WS 16X9 skin with the skin plugins.
I was wondering if there is a way to display an image of each movie in the Videos.
Let me rephrase that. When I go into Videos and select a folder for a movie, I was wondering if there is a way to show an image of the movie from a small jpg file or something. I realize I will have to create all the images, but that is ok.

  Choppy Playback
Posted by: 235301 - 2007-03-28, 01:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

My setup is the following:
P4 2.4GHz
1G RAM
80MB HD
PVR-150
Ti4200

I have an issue that appears to only occur when playing back a recorded show while it's still recording. So let's say I have a 2 hr show recording and I start watching it from the beginning an hr through the recording. While playing back it seems to jump ahead from time to time. And it's not that the video is missing from the recording, I can do a rewind and then it will play the skipped content.

Any ideas on what could cause/cure this issue? I don't seem to have any problems like this when viewing a recording that's finished recording in it's entirety.

I open the movie in Media player and sound is fine...

Pause Mode freezes GB-PVR in secondary monitor only
Posted by: clevertrevdog - 2007-03-28, 01:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am having a problem with GB-PVR running on my secondary monitor, which is my television. If I pause the live tv program I am watching (either by clicking the pause button on the screen, pressing ctrl+q, or using a Hauppauge remote) it will enter "time shift mode" and create an appropriate mpg. However, when I try to unpause using any of the methods I have mentioned, GB-PVR will freeze and report an error.

The strange part is that the pause and unpause of live tv works perfectly on my primary monitor. In fact, in my Display control panel I have even made my television the "primary monitor" and then the pause/unpause works when GB-PVR is displayed on my tv, but it has the freezing problem when viewed on my computer monitor, which is now the "secondary monitor." Any help solving this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Recording service (99.12) and other USB devices problem
Posted by: bitjockey - 2007-03-28, 12:59 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I'm a GBPVR noob (1 week), but been messing with various Windows & Linux alternatives intermittently for several years. Must say that so far, GBPVR holds by far the most promise of anything I've messed with.

My setup initially: Plextor TV402U on a several year old Win2K P4 2.4 desktop; installed latest Plextor and Intervideo stuff...no config problems. However, while the recording service is running, I notice intermittent USB eject issues with my USB devices (TDK DVD burner, USB external hard drive). The usual Windows pop-up displays saying that I've removed a USB device improperly, etc. This happens while GBPVR itself isn't running...merely the recording service is loaded. Needless to say, it messes up file transfers to the USB HD, or DVD burns to the external burner. Viewing Task Manager, I see that the recording service is spiking in CPU utilization from 2-7% when idle..not sure why.

When I manually stop the recording service, I never see any further USB problems; DVD burns and HD transfers work perfectly.

What is it about the recording service (even when idle), that it disrupts other USB activity...anyone seen this before?

Yesterday, I migrated my setup to an aging notebook that I wanted to recycle (5 yr old HP ZT1155, 512MB RAM, S3 ProSavage DDR). First attempts had probs; no video on watching live TV, blue screen errors, then later, recordings were very jittery and unwatchable. Many hours later after many tweaks, all solved. Unlike what someone else here reported, I had no probs using the "high quality" settings for my recordings. Looks pretty good on my 56" DLP TV using the PC interface.

TV Listings plugin, one channel not populated in guide
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2007-03-28, 12:44 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (6)

Any idea why channel 70, E!, isn't populated? I can see the data when I go to zap2it.com TV Listings for Comcast Cable in zip code 97124. The same problem exists for guide while watching Live TV.
