Without apparent reason GBPVR locks up. In the logs I found that the database is locked, switched the SQL logging on and restarted GBPVR. It still reports the database locked. Only after restarting the machine GBPVR started working again. Do the logs tell anything to anybody?
If I use two separate tuners or a dual-tuner device for DVB-C, will I be able to record two encrypted channels with a MultiDec/Viaccess setup with one valid card in the cardreader. (Legal notice: It's perfectly legal for me to see/record the channels concurently - I also have them all in parallel on the analog side of my cable connection)
I have an old P4 2.4GHz machine that I am using with a PVR-150 to create a PVR. All is working well however one problem is it's currently in a server tower case. And it's noisy. So I want to move to a smaller, horizontal setup and try to quiet the box down. I want to keep the cost down on a new box so I am looking for any recommendations on a quiet box that I can get relatively cheap. And does it make sense to replace the stock processor cooler with something quieter?
When it works its the dogs. Only odd versions cause wmplayer and gbpvr to run without sound when playing video and then crash, hogging all the processor. Stupidly this morning I installed a new version over my working old version and the same bug has reappeared even if I reinstall the previously working old one...
Meanwhile VLC can still play video no probs. Anyone else come across this or know I way I can get them all to play nicely together?
The only way to fix it is to uninstall super and restart the machine...?
The MVP crashes ( does a reconnecting to servers ) when I attempted to play a recording last night. Looks like the recording failed, the exception being:
MVP-gbpvr.exe-1.log
System.IO.IOException: An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file.
Looks like a bug ?
Have enclosed the 0 length recording and log files.
I'm in the process of merging my many separate drives into a 6*400GB RAID5 "single" drive.
As my recordings so far has been distributed on 6 different drives, and even organised in subfolders (for my sons cartoons etc.) VideoArchive has been an essential add-on (for other reasons as well).
I have now copied the contents of 4 of these disks (the 4 400GB in production) elsewhere, an I'm just about ready to make the new RAID 5 volume.
Question: What is the best way to approach this in relation to VA, as these files (and there's a lot!) will reoccur in a new location (but in the same structure). Should I go for the Beta with the new database?
I'm slightly worried as I have previously experienced orphans when reorganising files. This has mostly been when putting recordings into sub-folders or deleting them from the file-system using Explorer.
Also, should I disable VA plugin while copying back (it takes a looong time to copy 1,5TB!). Thus avoiding the machine being unresponsive/crashing from trying to fix VA-entries as well as recieving files over USB, FireWire and Ethernet at the same time?
So in short: Merging D: E: G: and H: into D: (still keeping my 160GB F:, that will propably become E, what is the best way to proceed?
I have XRecord installed, but its buttons aren't drawn like most other screens. They are drawn according to data in its skin.xml. Is there some commands for an xml that, combined with something like the CommonUIElements.dll, make the buttons get drawn the same as GB-PVR's buttons?
Hi all
I have a Hauppauge PVR 350 in a P3 800 with 512Mb RAM, which seems to be sufficient hardware from all I have read. Hauppage installed fine, drivers work, nothing out of the ordinary with this.
I am stuck trying to watch Live TV through the PVR's TV out port. In the configurator, for playback if I choose the PVR 350, then I when I run GB PVR, I get the GB menu on the TV, but if I try to watch Live TV, then I get the message, "No tuners are available..." and then no other option but "Don't watch TV"
In the configurator, if I choose for playback, "None, use software decoder", then suddenly I get TV on my computer monitor, but nothing on the TV.
Having got this far, just for fun I tried to record a show. It says it's recording, which is great, but now I want to cancel and just play with Live TV again, but I am stuck recording Desperate Housewives for all eternity - I can't seem to cancel the recording! Even rebooting the computer doesn't cancel, it seems once I record, I am stuck with it until the show ends - not that I know for sure, because Desperate housewives continues for the next 45 minutes... Frustrating!
My capture source is a Motorola Cable converter, and I am somewhat confused by this too. I can still switch channels (viewing only on my PC Monitor) using the original remote, but if I use the Hauppage remote, I can look at the listing as supplied by Zapit, they show up just fine, but I can't actually select any of the channels.
Is it possible to watch a program and record another simultaneously, with the PVR350, assuming I get the answers to the above questions sorted out?
