I am trying to configure GB-PVR with my Twinhan 102G DVB-S. The GB-PVR config finds it when I setup the BDA source, but when I come to map the digital channels to EPG channels, I get an error saying that is is unable to start the BDA device. I then OK this and it then comes with an unhandled exception error. I am running this in Windows XP. Mytheatre works on the same setup, same BDA drivers. Logs attached.
Thanks in advance.
I have a PVR150 MCE that does not have FM radio support, I also have a Nvidia DualTV that does have FM support. I have both cards configured correctly in GBPVR and the antenna hooked up to the DualTV. When I go to listen to the FM radio in GBPVR all I get is static or audio from tv channels. I installed the encoder listed on the WIKI in the FM radio section. I also messed around in direct.ini changing the FM radio support for each card trying to pick a certain card and no dice.
Ok, last night two shows didn't record. It has happened before, during testing of the system but I've always attributed it to me changing settings, restarting the recording service, etc. It recorded two shows the day before and they were just fine. What gives?
Sometimes when an error pops up on the MVP, there is no way to close it. On the PC, you can use the mouse an close the popup using the 'X' button. On the MVP, sometimes this does not happen and the only recourse is to put the MVP on standby and reset the interface. It takes a while to restart the GBPVR interface since it clears MVP server from the process list and restarts a new MVP server.
BTW, there is no particular error I am referring to.
I've been trying to nail down a few freezing problems. I replaced the power supply yesterday and my middle-of-the-night freezing problems persist. By freezing, I mean the clock stops and the mouse freezes. The computer does not reboot and the video signal stays (frozen) on both the PVR-350 and VGA card. This is Win2k Server.
The symptoms go like this: each time it happens, I have scheduled GBPVR to record two or more shows which run back to back on the same channel. Twice now, I've scheduled a show to record from midnight to 5am (five 1 hour episodes) and it froze at 2:59am. Just last night I scheduled it to record from midnight to 2 (two 1 hour episodes) and it froze at the end of the last recording, at 2am on the dot. Each time, the last episode it was recording does not close properly and appears to be 12 seconds long, though it will play.
I have a PVR-350 but no decoding is going on at the time. I haven't done much experimentation (like turn off comskip processing). To conserve memory, I don't run the GBPVR system tray program but that doesn't seem to hurt anything. I don't have much in the way of logs because I wasn't running debugging logs but I can post what I have if necessary.
I'd also like to point out that I don't seem to have the PVR-350 problems. Last night I watched a 1 hour show to the end of the file and it went back to the menu without drama. I know that is a common problem, and I don't have it.

Control video and audio codec's merit, better high definition support (switch to native source Resolution -720, 1080...)
Better exception handling when trying to play unsupported video format
I have set Music Library to display the cover art which it does pretty well within the plugin itself. When I exit the plugin it switches to the visualisations which do not really work fluidly on my PIII. I would prefer to have cover art in the main menu as well or ai least a possibility to switch the visualisations off.
Great plugin. This is what i have been wating for a long time. Unfortunately in time shifted mode after some time (15-60 seconds) the stream stops, though the screen continues to tell me that it is playing. Also VLC continues to run. I observe this both at the PC console as via MVP.
In preview mode on the PC console it plays uninterrupted. Any clue of what might be the problem?
I could not find any clues in the standard logfiles. Attached is the VLC log. (see signature for my configuration)
Like most people, I`ve got GB-PVR running at start-up, so that the GB-PVR
icon appears in my system tray.
I`m using Zone Alarm Firewall, and have noticed that GB-PVR tray makes
network activity occur every two seconds or so, which is highlighted as a
network event on my little Zone Alarm Icon.
I`d prefer it if GB-PVR didn`t do this, but have no idea hoe to stop it, or even
what the activity is. I`m guessing it may have something to do with network
streaming or something, but I have no need for it, and don`t have my EPG
updated over the network either, as it`s using the transcode data.
Is there a way to stop this frequent network activity in the GB-PVR settings
at all ?
I`ve had a good look but can`t see anything obvious, but I know that the
registry can be used with this utility as well.
Cheers for any help, and if someone could explain just what the activity is
as well, that would be great.
