I have started developing an Android TV client for NPVR.
I wish it to have the native NPVR-GUI and playback controls/OSD as well as the option of using my custom playback controls and graphics.
I’d like to support both NPVR4 and 5.
I choose Xamarin platform and using VLC (LibVLCSharp) for playback. VLC allows for excellent playback of many filetypes on Android, including MPEG2 without transcoding.
So, is there a guide on how to use the web-API correctly? Developing my previous clients I guessed a lot and examined Martins python scripts for methods etc.
Now if I build something completely new, I wish to do it right and futureproof from the beginning bearing in mind targeting both NPVR4 and 5.
The basics up and running but...
Currently having trouble with two things:
#1: login with pin. Don’t know if I’m missing a NPVR-setting or not Hashing correctly.
Gets sid and salt, but fails on login, need some (working) .net standard code for generating the MD5-hash.
#2: What are the correct steps and methods to call for using native playback controls and getting OSD to work?

Lately I installed a fresh version of Windows 10 (20h2) on my TV Server system. I've installed most recent version of NextPVR5 server. In general I have 8 DVB-S2 tuner available. One DigitalDevices CineS2 V6.5 with 2 tuner and one DVBSKy S952 with 2 tuner PCIe cards build into the system. Aside this I have a Triax TSS400 SAT>IP router with 4 Tuner. All 8 tuner are feed from an unicable switch for 8 tuner. Every tuner has it's own frequency slot.
The channel scan in the web GUI shows all needed channels, DVB-S and DVB-S2 ones. Last night I've done a bunch of test recordings from various channels. All recordings from DVB-S channels have worked as expected but all recordings from DVB-S2 (aka HD) channels are only zero bytes "big". It also is not possible to view HD channels "Live" SD Channels are working "Live" too...
With other TV solutions like e.g. MediaPortal the hardware is working as expected. But in MediaPortal you need to tick a mark for allowing DVB-S2 channel scan. I didn't find similar in NPVR. Did I miss something?
I'm not at home now so if something else like logs (or so) are needed I have to add them later...
this is most likely not a kodi problem, but I am putting it here as with Kodi I can get stats...
Same happens with the web interface (web interface shows message server is not fast enough - 0.914x) at 480p profile for instance.
when set to 720p, even to 480p profile and with transcoding, stream pauses for a few seconds every now and then.
You will see that at the same time the nextpvr server box is not at all stressed in terms of CPU or GPU...
I have also prioritized the network from and to this box and also tried to increase even to real-time the priority of the ffmpeg process but same result...
Any ideas?

I have auto mapped channels, updated m3u, started, stopped, restarted nextpvr-server.
On the web server I am able to see the groups, however many guide listing show "no listing", these include all of the major networks.
Looking at the xml:

What do I need to look for in the logs, that would indicate some error for missing these?
Using IPTVBoss to edit the m3u/xml from my provider, I have disabled nearly all regional local channels, yet on the epg guide in nextpvr, I see over 300 regional channels, channels which I have excluded from m3u/xml files, there are no guide data, and they do not play, but how is it that these channels are being pulled in?
Within IPTVBoss I have the following:
Network, Low Band, My Locals, My Movies, and Premium Movies
Under My Locals, I've added a couple channels, after starting, stopping, these added channels do not appear, I've updated m3u in nextpvr, checked the logs, I see no clue as to what I' missing.
Is there a way to auto merge channels by channel number? I have one tuner than lists the channel name by call sign, the other uses the name from the EPG (I think). The channel numbers are the same, but I have to manually merge each.
Also, after I do manually merge a channel, the web page re-selects all stations. What is the purpose for this? Doing the manual merge I have to click the select all twice to unselect all channels and then pick the next two stations to manually merge.
My apple TV 4K just installed automatically iOS14.2 and I am facing now some issues with NextPVR. I re-installed it on the Apple TV but it changed nothing. The issue is that I cannot pause and move the time. When I arrive to exit (not working all the time) in pressing the Menu button, It goes out of Nextpvr.
When I select Nextpvr again it restart at the time I left the video without being able to stop it.
A while back I got an email from Cox telling me that I may end up loosing channels because I use a cable card. They tell me to tune into channel 1987, if I can see it, great no issues, if I can't then try to and update MPEG4 on my device.
I use an HDHomeRun Prime, three tuner. In NPVR, I scanned my device for channels, nothing, no channel 1987. The firmware was a few months old so I upgraded to the latest version, 20200907. I scanned again and still no channel 1987. Is that because Schedule Direct doesn't have it in their schedule, or is it because HDR can't see it?
When watching an in-progress recording, the Kodi timeline reflects the growing recording length properly, however, it does not recognize when the recording stops. For example, I start watching an hour-long program after it has been recording for 45 minutes. The recording length as reported by the Kodi timeline keeps growing past 1:00:00 and doesn't stop until I stop and restart playback. Is there any way around this? Thanks.
I currently have a Nextpvr installation on a Windows 10 machine and I want to import all my recordings to a Docker version on a Synology nas box. But unfortunately it does not work.
The filepath is different, and the import is not working. I have copied all the old recordings to the new Docker installation recording directory.
NextPVR was working fine until I started to used it 8 months ago. Since it was configured, I did not need to navigate the settings, until this week, to fix a channel naming issue. When I went to the Web app settings, I realized I could not navigate to Devices and Channels menu anymore. When I click on them, nothing happens, so I could not fix my channel issue. Also, TV guide, channels, recordings, etc were all empty in the Web App but visible through the client and over Kodi. I decided to update the NetxPVR version to the latest but it did not help. Now the EPG does not update anymore with this new version. I also unninstalled/re-installed with no luck. I looked at the logs but it seems that clicking on the not working menus does not update the logs at all, so they are useless to troubleshoot.
Could it be a browser issue? Using chrome and edge give bad results (font sizing). The only one that seems to work is Explorer.
