IMHO it would be really nice if there was a mechanism similar to the <extras> for importing recordings. Offsite videos can be brought in to the list that way.
Hi. Things were good. I run NPVR on a low power desktop next to my TV. THe device is never off and goes to sleep 10 minutes after we stop watching. That is until I tried to watch a tv show from another part of the house using a new windows laptop over wifi using the new Microsoft Edge (the chromium version I am told) browser.
While watching over wifi to the low power desktop I was replaying a recording. a message popped up on the Edge saying network issue and the replay froze. Never recovered.. so I closed the EDGE window and opened a new one and in about 5 minutes the same thing happened. An hour later I walked by the low power desktop and I notice its not sleeping anymore. runs 24 hours a day.
Anyone have any idea why it wont sleep? Is there some sort of flag set in NPVR that prevents it from sleeping if someone tried to watch remotely and as I got disconnected due to network issues... its still in place? I tried restarting NPVR server.. nothing, rebooting nothing... I noticed a similiar issue a few years ago when trying to watch from an Apple IPAD on OS9 with Safari. The only solution I could ccome up with was reinstalling windows 10 on the desktop. Never had any issues watching with chrome browser or the old edge.
Would be nice if there was something simpler I could try. Appreciate any ideas.

With the recent discussions about the (maybe not immediate) demise of cable cards in the US, I thought I'd start exploring options for an IPTV provider in the US that is legit, does live streams of channels (so not Channels DVR or anything with TV Everywhere), and provides M3U files. The initial research has felt more like an accidental dive into the dark web, but I did find this link to a few providers that, at least on the surface, look like possibilities.
Has anyone had any experience with these (or other suggestions)? I actually wouldn't mind doing something like SlingTV, but it doesn't appear M3U files (or any reasonable integration into NextPVR) are an option.
The really frustrating part is that my provider (Spectrum) provides live streaming of every channel in your package if you are on their IP network (i.e. a cable internet subscriber), but it's only available via a web browser, and there isn't any obvious way I can find to get the stream (or the URL of the stream) to pass to NPVR. Maybe if I get REALLY bored I could try and write an extra that would figure all that out, but that feels like an incredibly complicated thing.
Followup note: see post below about how I did, in fact, get ChannelsDVR to connect to TV Everywhere for Live TV and then use it as an IPTV source for NextPVR.
Hi Guys, I am new to the forums here but not to NextPVR, I have been using the old setups for a couple of years now, I decided to update to the very lastest V5, all went well as I had decided to uninstall the old one V4 and start afresh, it records fine through a TBS 6284 card and when I click on the recording it plays, however I am unable now to play live tv either through the web app or the desktop app, on the web one I get "Streaming Failed Transcode Terminated" and on the desktop one just a blank screen.
I am running Win 10 Pro fully updated and use a AMD Radeon R9 200 Series 2GB GPU other than no live TV everything is fine.
I am using nextPVR in a docker container with the official nextPVR image.
The docker container runs inside Ubuntu 18.4 LTS.
Before I start explaining, this behaviour only happens with some channels. Other channels are working fine.
The behaviour I am having is as follow:
Whenever I start playing a channel (Boomerang) from my IPTV via the NextPVR Web UI I am getting the following error:

If I am playing the same channel using Emby, the channel at first stops for about 10-30 seconds, then it starts playing as normal.
I played the same channel with Kodi, the behaviour is the same as with Emby.
When I played the same channel with Android TV or Mobile I am getting the same streaming failed error.
Another issue I am having is with recording. When I record from this channel the recording is broken. I can only play the recording with Emby and Kodi but not with any other players, like VLC. At the moment I am not sure if the recording issue is related to my main issue.
I uploaded the logs from Emby and NextPVR.
From the previous discussion we had, you said this has to be something related to FFMPEG.
I also tried using HW encoding, I thought maybe it will help to transcode but it didn't help. I remember you saying that this is nothing to do with HW.
If you need more logs or investigation please let me know.
