if you have one Hauppauge 150 hooked up to the digital box, and a Hauppauge 500 hooked up directly to the feed, would you be able to record digital cable channels on the 150, and normal channels on the 500- which would have access to far fewer channels? thanks for help in advance.
I Plug it into the cat5 and it will not grab an IP.
It starts up then I get an error saying it can;t get a server-- but under the top where it says computername and IP{- there is nothing there- leading me to believe it is not grabbing an IP successfully...
I am using a netgear router with DHCP ( many other devices grabbing Ips and all on same subnet etc..)
I now have a system that utilizes the best analog tuner(NVIDIA DualTV), digital QAM support(OnAir HDTV-GT), with a fully integrated EPG/recording software(thanks to Sub's fantastic GBPVR software). The final key that would make this system complete(use your best Emperor Palpatine voice) would be extender support for HD recordings. I do have two MediaMVP's, so getting analog recordings to the rest of the house is easily accomplished under GBPVR, but is there any hope for some other device doing HD quality play? Has anyone gotten the MediaMVP to handle HD recordings? This is not an essential feature, but would certainly be icing on the cake, and make this system complete.
I know this has probably been asked before, but I wondered if any knew this was possible. Iâve been using Xbox Media Centre for a while for a few things. Have long since transferred all videos from XBOX to PVR. XBMC does a really good job of connecting to internet for youtube and quicktime trailers, I think it uses python scripts. I donât think there is anything like that for any PVR app, just wondered if anyone knew how this could be done for GBPVR, that would be so cool.
how do i insert breakpoints in mpg file so that i can forward/rewind? used wintv usb pvr2 to record 20 min clip. i can't move the location slider to jump between the beginning, to middle, to end of clip. any ideas?
I've got version 2 of the MCE remote, and I'm trying to figure out a few things.
The channel up/down buttons (#1) are non-functioning. I can change this with the up and down buttons (#1 also) on the remote, but I'd prefer to ALSO be able to use the Channel buttons so the wife can more easily use (and remember) what all the buttons on the remote do.
The volume up/down buttons (#2) are also non-functioning. This one isn't a big deal, but if I could get them to work, super. If not, I'd like to know it's not possible just for peace of mind.
Lastly, these buttons are the real reason I'm posting. I can use the << and >> buttons (#3) with no problems, however, they only skip forward a few seconds at a time. Is this the normal behavior for them?
Since they only skip forward a few seconds, I figured the |< and >| buttons (#4) would be the "skip ahead a bunch more" buttons. Those 2 buttons don't work AT ALL. I REALLY want the ability to skip forward more than just a few seconds at a time, perhaps 30 or 60 seconds or more. Are these 2 buttons supported, or have I tinkered with something and mussed it all up?
Is this something I have to set right in irremote.ini or via some other method, and is there some way to tell what the keyboard command is for each button I press on the remote? I know when testing a keyboard matrix that there are programs available to tell what equals what. Is there an identical (or similar) program to figure out what the remote is sending as a command?
Sorry for all the questions in one posting and the possible confusion :o
I installed 98.13 in client mode on my new Core Duo desktop and using the same config as my laptop, I don't get the same performance. I upped the Client Mode Cache to 65536 from 49152. No difference. Here is what gives....
The laptop is 802.11g wireless and the PVR box is also 802.11g wireless. The Code Duo is wired.
The performance on each is the same when selecting a 'recording' - no frame dropping. When I go to the video library and play it from a directory, the laptop is fine, but the desktop drops frames often! It stutters along.
The desktop is faster and wired... hmm, it is a dual processor.
I have three reasons to want to use Video Library over Recorded to play a movie.
1. Recorded has messed with the timeline on some movie playback.
2. Recorded isn't nearly as responsive on Ctrl-<left> or Ctrl-<right> to skip forward or back as using Video Library.
3. I push recorded mpgs to another hard drive to conserve space on the recording drive so they can't be accessed via the Recorded menu.
I must be missing something. I can't figure out how to change the looks of the community skin. I have selected Community skin in the config but how I do I change the look on the fly? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.
So this has happened three times in a row now. I'll select a show to record by acessing it through the "TV Guide" section, set it to record and it won't. The System Tray Icon shows up as grey (not recording) but when I go into GB-PVR in Pending Recordings - it says it is recording the show - even though it's not (no file showing up when I access where it should record via Windows Explorer) and then when I go to watch it after it has finished recording - it isn't there. I already restarted my computer - and no luck. What's up?
