Hey Sub, when you have some time I was wondering if you take a look at my log and give me a heads up on what caused this crash, nothing big and I believe it was an internet problem (lost connection) but I just wanted to be sure. The crashes happened around 9:15 and 9:50 into the log (I think)
When I put my system into standby, I have no trouble with the computer coming back on in order to record my scheduled shows. The problem I am having (and wondering if there is a solution) is that once the machine turns on I cannot get it to go back into standby automatically. I have the windows set for to go to standby when inactive, but it stays on.

Sub,
This is very minor so I'm posting it here so as not to clutter the Support forum with something of low import.
When you issue a new release, in your Survival guide could you just add a 1-sentence statement like: "No skin changes are required versus the previous version." Or, "Skin changes required versus the previous version." ? (And include the version number of the 'previous version'.
For people who use other skins, it would tell us whether we can jump right into the new version, or whether we need to wait for the skinner.
I bought the Hauppauge PVR150MCE on the understanding that it's probably the most popular and best supported kit - but what I didn't count on was the poor video quality. The picture is soft and it tears when fast motion is onscreen. I've had enough of it.
So I'm looking for a top quality PCI analogue tuner card (we don't get digital where we are). Am I looking at an ATI? And if so, which one?
Some guidance would be helpful, please? Thank you.
At least it's strange to me. I've just noticed it in the last couple of days. It doesn't seem to effect anything but i notice and this is just a feeling but it seems the GBpvr is on the edge, instead of it's usual solid self. It's working but seems to be barely working. I notice that there are some dropped frames where i never noticed them before. It could have been just the recording from today and I'll post the logs tomorrow just in case it was only todays recording that is flawed.
In the meantime.
the log entry is
11/15/2006 6:04:27 PM.906 VERBOSE [1] WM_DEVICECHANGED: 7
I'm not sure what it means or how to fix it or if it needs fixing. Anyone seen this before or have a clue?
i bought the PVR-500 MCE kit with the remote but it doesn't look like it came with the IR software... the IR software is what GBPVR uses right? i click the "fix hauppauge remote" button in GBPVR config but only like 2 or 3 buttons on the remote actually work... i have the remote with out the red, green, blue, and whatever buttons at the bottom. anyone know where i can get the IR software? feel free to use my e-mail contact if you like.
love the software btw.
oh, almost forgot, i'm have some video and audio synch problems on a couple channels, best place to start troubleshooting? my system is a P4 3.0, 1gig RAM, 400 gig hard drive, hauppauge 150 MCE and 500 MCE..
thanks
**edit** after a little googling i found the ir.exe and the irremote.ini i evidently need and i will attempt this again using HIP... i'll make an update post if all goes well.
I started using GB-PVR recently and like it a lot. But one small feature seems to be missing. Namely GB-PVR can show picture in either 4:3 or 16:9 format. Regular TV in my region is 4:3 but when I switch to 16:9 format the program just stretches existing box picture on the screen. This is not optimal solution for viewing movies, because black bars will still remain on the screen. Wide screen TVs usually have a Zoom and Subtitle zoom options for taking most out of new wide screens. Can this be done on GB-PVR?
A more intelligent option would recognize black bars automatically and maybe after one minute of black bars would switch to zoom mode. But this is probably much more complicated than just adding another picture zooming option.
Thank you for making this nice program and I am looking forward to this new feature in next version.
Today i was impressed with the gbpvr software so much that i went out and got second kworld dvb-100 card as they are on offer here at Maplins and the first one seemed to be working well with gbpvr. anywany, when i had installed the second card, windows installed the drivers i thought all was ok,
so i went into gb pvr setop and installed the second card, but now i find when i tune it, it shows a good signal level and quality, but no channels come up in the listing ?
I also think> im not sure now its been a few hours! that i also tried to retune the first card and go the same results. Since then i have been pulling out cards and reinstalling drivers and testing and searching the net for a solution. Hence , my post!
So if anybody can point be in the right direction ??????????
