  Program positon in OSD
Posted by: madcat - 2006-09-06, 04:00 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

It would be nice if in the OSD with the description of the program there would be something that shows the current position in the program. So, let's say I'm using the CH-/+ buttons, and I see the description of the program, it will tell me quickly where I am at in the program without needing to use the Guide view.

something along the lines:

  Wont tune low channels
Posted by: ddrum2000 - 2006-09-06, 03:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

So Here is a problem, If I try to tune any channel below 24 I get an error canno play file back message. Now if I first tune a channel above 24 then change the channel without stopping the recording (push channel numbers, use mini-guide, or CH up or down buttons) then I can get down to those lower channels. Im sure the same thing is going to happen when I try to record a program at a lower channel while I'm not around. Do you know what the problem coud be? Also I attached my logs.

Windows 2000 vs XP, your choice?
Posted by: doggyfromplanetwoof - 2006-09-06, 02:32 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (23)

I have Windows XP now with
amd64 3200 and 1gb.

I am considering to down grading to 2000, back in the day I loved 2000. To me it seems better, in reality probably not. Your thoughts?

  IR blaster help
Posted by: agidius - 2006-09-06, 01:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I did do a search, but everything I could find worth anything were about the MCE remote.

I have the hauppauge remote where the sensor (and transmitter) plug into the PVR150 card.

I am trying to bypass my problems with bad sound only on 2 channels by getting those channels to pass through my VCR that I set up earlier so I could watch tapes through GBPVR.

first things first--

how can I get the IR blaster to work??
I tried HIP, but all instructions I could find were again for the MCE remote.
hopefully after I figure this out I can the it to learn the remote codes.

is it possible or do I just need to buy an MCE remote??

  Edtv
Posted by: sdamron - 2006-09-06, 12:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hello,
I currently have an EDTV, but SD looks terrible on it...okay, not terrible, but not as good as HDTVSmile

What card can I use with gbpvr that will do HDTV, and support Directv? Currently I have the following hardware, and am just waiting to buy a video card and tv card.

1.8ghz AMD Duron
1 gig ram
300 gig hard drive
simple motherboard that will work with LAN/sound on board

What would you fine folks reccommend as a video card and tv card. I want to be able to watch live tv, as well as record at the same time.

TIA,
Scott

  LiveTV problems - First timer
Posted by: CrasMack - 2006-09-06, 12:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

So I went through the config and thought I had everything good. I did the Tuning Assistant and it went through the channels (no sound tho Sad )

Then when I go into GBPVR and try to watch LiveTV I get "Error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."

I have read that some people changed decoders and it fixed this. It did not fix it for me. I can get live tv in Windows Media Center but not GBPVR. Can anyone help me?

I am using an ATI 550 Pro card.

if the shopzilla ad with the shopping cart going back and forth is there, you cannot search.
the search window appears behind the ad.

  XSearch - save favorite searches?
Posted by: madcat - 2006-09-06, 12:14 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

I posted the same for the EWA:

Lets say I search every so often for the same program. Why not allow me to save favorite searches, so I can repeat them on the current guide, without having to type the search strings?

Specifically when using the remote to "type" text, it can be a pain. So I could save it and repeat the search later.
