I installed the weather plugin earlier this week and have not been able to get it to update. It will download the weather information when it first starts up but nothing I've tried will make it update after that. I've played with all of the plugin settings to see if there is something that I'm just not understanding. I've let is set for over 24 hours to see if it will update. No luck.
GPR version is 96.13. I'm not sure what the weather plug in version is. I can't find it anywhere on the installation but I downloaded it earlier this week so I'm guessing it's the latest.
I don't know what's happened, Timehift suddenly stopped working on my system. Every try to start the Timeshift mode produces this:

You can do something with this information? In short form:
I press "Pause" for Timeshift, the message "Timeshift starting" appears and *plonk* i am in the mainmenu with an errormessage that the Remote not reachable is o.O
I just bought the Dell USB 2.0 TV Tuner (Lumanate Angel USB Tuner) and then realized it required MCE to operate. I'm running my laptop with XP Home. Is GBPVR compatible with this tuner?
Got an MVP and gbpvr, however when trying to get the two to play together, the MPV just loops between connecting to servers, loading application, then hangs for a bit, seems to soft reboot and then detects network settings, you get the "press ok in 3 seconds to enter setup" message, then goes back to connecting to servers, loading application....
I've tried replacing dongle.bin with the one from my hauppauge CD, I've tried all 3 versions in the drop down in the config menus, no joy.
If I run the haupaguge services though, everything works fine
Time for bed, been trying to get this working for 7 hours now (some of that was weird switch problems, but that's a story for another day!)
I could use some help setting up my 500MCE. When trying to watch Live tv, all I get on most channels is static. Some channels do come through, but they usually have audio that sounds likes its playing to fast and the video goes in and out.
I have followed the setup guide on the wiki, as well as installed the latest drivers from the Happauge website and the decoder found on their as well. I also have the cyberlink decoder as well. Playing with the various playback tab seems to have no effect. Any ideas?
I have Twinhan VisionPlus VP-1020A card and I'm trying to get it to work. But I had no success. I tried install the latest drives from the web site but that didn't fix it.
when I tried to use MyTheater, that program has no problem use this card.
When I used config program to get it to work with GBPVR it's telling me that: âGB-PVR was unable to start BDA device...â
I am not a geek and very new in PVR/HTPC. I have a ASUS Motherboard with 8x AGP that I want to use for Video Output. It also has PCI slots. No PCI-x or PCIe is available. I need help in choosing the right video card for the following requirments. My intended use is primarily watching video etc rather than using it for Games. I am not into Games. To be honest, I have only played Solitaire and Prince of Persia (Yea have been living in Stone age so far)
1. To buy AGP 8X card or PCI card (I understand AGP is better than PCI).
2. Passive Cooled. Fan model is not desired (Planning to put 2-3 80mm/120mm fan in the case for intake/exhaust)
3. Compatble with standard NTSC/ATSC capturing card eg..using DVXA tech etc like FUSION HDTV Gold/ATI Theater 650 (comingout soon) etc...
4. Supports 4:3, 16:9, 16:10 ratios and any other custom ratios...
5. Supports all sorts of resolutions upto for HDTV 1080i (planning to use it now in a old Sony CRT TV with HDTV in next 1 yr )
6. Little Gaming capbility is good to have.
7. Supports all sorts of connectivty like composite, s-video, compoent, DVI etc..(more the merrier)
8. Reputable Brand with very good warranty.
9. Budget is more or less $200
10. Sill don't understand the full use of Dual Display, if its good to have for PVR/HTPC then it would be nice..
I spent nearly 2 weeks on ATI/Nvidia websites but got lost in Geforce/Readon jargon.
i downloaded GBPVR09713.msi from the main page
installed to c:\programs\gbpvr\
running winXP Pro with SP2 and all the latest updates
DX9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DotNet 1.1 and 2.0 installed
when installer finished, i got this message
then a JIT message
i get the same messages when i try to run the config
when i try to run the program, it crashes right back out with no error message
i dont know the brand or model of card i have but its a bt878 chipset with PVR with mpeg2 and mpeg4 hardware encoding and im using btwincap
Is it possible to retrieve the guide updates manually?
My situation:
Home is dial-up and only that (I live in the countryside - no high speed). Normally once a week I connect and retrieve the updated guide). Lately it's been extremely slow and most times not taking the guide update at all.
Work has high speed and I was hoping to manually retrieve the guide and save on a USB flash key and then transfer to home (faster and hoepfully less painful).
I've been using GBPVR for a while and reading this forum.
I've seen a few posts about using SQLite. SOunds like it might give a more stable system.
Is there a step by step guide to migrating to SQLite?
