Is there a way to do a manual channel add under Linux/Ubuntu? I found an old post on V4 about how to do it in Windows. Didn't seem to cross over... Tnx b
I would like to bring my Ubuntu 18.04 NextPVR back to original settings (or pert' near). There are channels (duplicate, maybe analog) sitting in the lists, and there are ATSC tuner devices that I tested that I am no longer planning to use with this implementation. I can't see an easy way to clear them out (especially the latter). No right-click on the web interface to get options I would expect would include "Delete". I could go all the way to uninstall/purge, but that seems extreme.
NextPVR was working nicely until I started experimenting, and now it seems I can't get back to where it was a day or two ago, regardless of what I try. Quickest option seems to be a (relatively) clean start.
I am using latest version of NPVR with a dual TBS DVB-S2 card which has been running satisfactorily until I updated too .04. I am now seeing gaps appearing in the EPG and even after I manually run an EPG update some channels return but others become blank:
After running a manual update:
I have tried emptying the EPG and manually running it again which does usually fill the listings but they then start to disappear over time. I also get small square boxes at either end of some listings (see Film 4 'Maze runner' for aan example). Logs attached.
i have a question about playing live tv channels.my Nextpvr loads perfect on osmc with kodi(RPi3).but my wife always turn the tv off with out clicking stop. so next time i turn the tv the screen is frozen and have to restart RPi3 to adquire the list again. There is anything i can do to make the live tv channels stop when the tv is turned off?
thanks
I presume it has to do with the latest release of NextPvr server, since there hadn't been an iOS upgrade in quite some time. The iOS app no longer reports properly the Settings, "Click here to see current tuner activity" anymore, although via a browser app reports correctly. The iOS app always reports idle even when actively recording. Not that long ago it worked fine.
I have a NextPVR/Kodi setup working well on an Ubuntu 18.04 system. I thought I'd try my luck on a "clean" Xubuntu 20.04 install. Not much luck so far with just NextPVR. NextPVR installs with no problem. I tried 2 USB ATSC interfaces (Pinnacle 800e and Kworld 435). Did appropriate firmware installs. Both are detected by NextPVR and both scan with 34 channels. Both can initially play liveTV. But...when I try to load Schedules Direct EPG, things go a bit haywire. The EPG load isn't like on my 18.04 system. There is a 60 second countdown the seems to stop at 1 second. On my other system, it shows channel information being loaded. No guide data appears in the web interface. Then the play liveTV stops working, stuck on the message "Starting Device" and eventually showing "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)". Some of this is reflected in the nrecord.log files that I can include with the "standard" logs-....zip file(s) in subsequent posts. If I restart, NextPVR will kind of work (can again see liveTV) until I again attempt to load up the EPG (though I can keep liveTV going in some cases by having it open while loading EPG...but it eventually stops working). I'm at a loss trying to decipher the logs...can only make out snippets of useful info...
Question is...am I jumping the gun trying to get this to work on 20.04?
I've installed NPVR v5 twice on my Linux laptop to check it out, but each time, I get stymied by a login screen. I do a little searching here to see if I can find an initial user name and password, but I've never seen anything, but it hasn't been on the top of my list either. Perhaps its been disclosed, but I haven't' seen it anywhere. What is the initial user name and password?
On new version 5 there is a desktop app and a web app the desktop app shows me a video link in the menu which will bring up recordings made on old version 4 and work fine. But on the web app these videos do not show. only thing showing are recording set since install of ver 5. Also ver 4 had many recorded videos i would like to keep but they do not show. Thanks in Advance Gil
I've installed Kodi v18.6 x64 with NextPVR addon (frontend) v3.3.19 and NextPVR backend v5.0.4.200428
NextPVR service is working at Port 8866 and pin to 0000
Still NextPVR cannot find Kodi as a device and connect with it ?
screenshots:
Any suggestions ?
BTW is NextPVR frontend supposed to give me a menu or buttons to live record streams while I'm watching them ?
I'm not seeing any buttons or menus of it at the frontend (Kodi player) at all
Just wondering, on the latest v5, the Scheduler says its recording, but there's no indication of any recording going on in TV Guide or Channels. Something to do with the new colours maybe ?
