Hi,
I have latest release NextPvr V5 installed and working however I have noticed that the server takes around 1 minute to start. That is tray icon stays grey for about 1 minute before turning green, after a reboot. The tuner is a HDHomeRun.
So, thanks to some help on here, I had this up and working on a my laptop, combining an IPTV device and a HDHR tuner. Everything combined in once instance.
However, I have a standalone PC that I'd like to use instead of that laptop, and so I've installed NextPVR, and I can't get the HDHR tuners to play. They are recognized, they scan and the channels are picked up, but when I choose to watch it says starting device....cannot be streamed and transcoder exited.
The HDHR streams play perfectly in the HDHR app. My IPTV service plays perfectly. I just can't get the HDHR tuners to play. This is on both the desktop and web client.
I've tried removing and adding the device over an over, and I've tried a total uninstall and reinstall. Hopefully it's something simple.
Is is possibly because I had NextPVR running on another pc on the network? I shut that one down completely before this install so its not on the network now (but I didn't want to uninstall until I know it was working), but could that be a factor?
I am trying to set up NextPVR on Windows using a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD tuner. When I try to Watch Now from the TV Guide in the Chrome browser, I get a message that it "Failed to start requested stream." When I try to watch Live TV in the app, I get the following message "Unable to find available capture device." The device was added in the browser and channels scanned for. I can watch live TV using the WinTV software that came with the turner. Why is NextPVR unable to access the tuner?
Hi all.
Have encountered a weird situation.
Have set Nick Jr. for "The Adventures of Paddington"
However, although it's showing S01EXX, but in the description at the end it shows S01EXXa or S01EXXb.
As such, NextPVR won't try and record the same episode that it already thinks it has...
In the list above it hasn't selected S01E07 which is this one
because if I go in to recordings it shows it already has S01E07 (which is S01E07b)
Is there any way of NextPvr being able to record the same episode, but renaming either the original one or the new one?
I realise it would only be a rare case that this would happen...
When I do a scan its finds all the chancels except the ones marked 38.1 - 38.6
In Zipcode 85301 I like to Watch retroTV on 38.6 . With Nextpvr V 4.2.4 its shows up as
General 38 6 K14RKD6
Freq:14 SID:6
Service type MPEG2 SD
Tsid:0
ONID:0
Physical channel 14
Is there a way iv 5.0.4 to manual add the missing channel?
Using same antenna and Hauppauge capture card.
WINTV10 also see this channel on same setup. But I like NEXTPVR better.
I occasionally have zero byte files created and would, obviously ( !!), like to avoid it as much as possible. I think part of the issue is that the antenna in my rental is a little flakey, so it's something that will remain an issue until/if that's fixed.
However, until that time, is there something that I can do to get NPVR to retry getting a locked signal every 30-60 seconds (looking at the log of the latest failure, it appears to have tried once or twice - see log entry below). I also think that some recordings are cut short when the signal is lost, and it would be great if there was an option to try to restart the recording.
I get this message "There was a problem sending the command to the program" when opening a browser to "http://localhost:8866/index.html" to view the TV guide. I can view the guide, but is it not sending the programs to record to the recorder or something else?
What is the solution please?
I'm wondering how do I change the date format in the Recordings section so that it always gives dates as DD/MM/YYYY as opposed to "Today", "Yesterday". I think this changed since I upgraded from 3.4.8 to 4.2.5.
I'm really sorry, I'm sure I've read this question asked before but I just can't find it.
Last year I installed NextPVR 4.2.5 in my Win10 system, which has a Hauppauge QuadHD ATSC tuner. I also have a subscription to Schedules Direct, so that's my data source for overnight scheduled EPG updates. I also have installed the TV Listings plugin, and have custom colorized the guide cells by genre.
All in all I have zero complaints, and have been totally satisfied. I realize 4.2.5 is now "legacy", but it works fine for me just as it is. I realize any new development will be for version 5.
So my questions are:
(1) Is there anything significantly improved or additional functionally in NextPVR version 5 that should definitely motivate me to upgrade? At the moment I have no wish list of features missing from 4.2.5, but if 5.0.4 had something totally new that was really terrific I could be persuaded.
(2) If I run the installer for version 5.0.4 is this like installing a totally separate independent new app, so that my existing install of 4.2.5 is completely unaffected? In other words will BOTH programs exist side by side so that I can run either one independently?
Or is the install of 5.0.4 an "upgrade-in-place" so that my previous install of 4.2.5 is no longer conceptually present, but rather I'm now running 5.0.4?
I realize there is a conflict of the Hauppauge tuner, and I am not planning on running both program versions simultaneously. I'm only asking if the install of version 5.0.4 will use all of my existing setup and customization of version 4.2.5 so that I don't have to start from scratch? And I'm asking if I will end up with both 4.2.5 and 5.0.4 as two independent programs either of which I can run? Or will I instantly only end up with only 5.0.4 replacing the contents of any 4.2.5 program and data folders and 4.2.5 will now be "gone"?
It would be nice if the install of 5.0.4 would detect the existing presence of 4.2.5 and use its configuration even if 5.0.4 is installed as a totally independent second program, so that I wouldn't have to start from scratch again customizing 5.0.4. It would be ideal if installing 5.0.4 would simply upgrade-in-place my 4.2.5 setup, so that I have do to nothing except begin using 5.0.4 and not miss a beat. Sure, I would probably take time to learn about any new features and explore, but at least I would have to do nothing in order to make the upgrade other than to run the 5.0.4 installer exe.
(3) Is the TV Listings plugin still supported with 5.0.4?
Thanks for any additional editorial comments or insights you can offer.
