i noticed a change in the most recent build, which causes the tray icon to reappear when the service is stopped/restarted through the configuration utility. as i have the tray icon kept from being loaded, this is slightly frustrating (not enough to deter my usage of this wonderful program).
i was wondering if there were any way to keep this from happening (short of deleting the tray icon executable). i checked the batch file, and all it does is stop/start the service. and i suppose i could modify that batch file to wait a second and run a taskkill on the tray icon program (just thought of that now actually).
but i was wondering if this was intentional or not? thank you very much. love your software.
the only other thing i would like to see in gbpvr is allowing me to record audio to a different format, such as pcm wave, since i compress all my files to xvid/ogg vorbis, it would clean up my audio slightly, instead of going mpeg-wave-vorbis. thank you very much again.

I've been using gbpvr now for a couple of months and so far im pretty impressed. up til now my general problems have been fairly easily resolved using this forum but now ive taken the time to start investigating my larger concerns.
so, the first problem i have is actually solved, although im not sure if the solution will mess up something else. what happens is that when i watch live tv or recordings of live tv a bunch of pixels, say 20 or so, is missing on the right hand side. as far as i can make out, this problem does not occur with avi or dvds.
playback in wmp is fine and if i select vmr7 instead of vmr9 the problem dissappears. in one other post sub has dismissed this problem but what might cause it? i have tried with both wmp9 from a clean xp sp2 install and then with wmp10 with no luck.
also, since i have now changed to vmr7, what changes in functionality etc. should i be expecting?
Now, for real problems. First of all, the thing that has been bugging me ever since i noticed it. If i play back some avi file (i guess the problem is the same with any media except possibly dvd) and i press pause, when i press resume the video skips like half a second, this can be really irritating if you want to pause in the middle of a sentence for some reason and then miss half of it. any ideas? ive been thinking about some kind of buffer of something but i cannot seem to find any setting for it.
This problem persisted when i changed to vmr7.
Next problem, recording. Actually, recording from the tv guide works like a charm. just perfect. Only thing i noticed there was that i by mistake pressed Cancel instead of Exit when i had just started a recording and was looking for a way to watch it. Wont make that mistake again.
My problem with recording is when i press the record button on my remote. in the previous version i tried it would just start recording and then crash (although the recording service would still record). in the latest version it actually starts recording and then plays back the file. a huge step in the right direction. problem is, when i try to stop, it crashes. if i press stop or if i press back, it just hangs (pause works though). however, the recording service will still run and the only way to get everything working again is to shut gbpvr down with task manager and then restart the recording service.
also, when im on it, i would terribly like a setting that lets me change the quick record quality, just because i dont have the time to go all the way through the tv guide it doesnt mean i dont want perfect quality.
my last question is regarding hardware decoding. i have a pvr350 and in the latest version it does recognize it if i select pvr 350 in the hardware decoding list. a good step in the right direction as the previous version i tried would just tell me it couldnt find the card. however, when i start any playback it tells me its trying to send everything down the tv out and after a few seconds it goes back to the menu. performance isnt really a problem but my cpu does go frightingly high sometimes and im trying to do everything i can to avoid problems with playback or recording, thus, i would really like to take advantage of the mpeg decoder that the pvr350 has, is there any way of making that work with the graphics card rather than tv out?
Hmmm, I am getting to grips with this feature, but...
How is this supposed to work? When I hit "pause" the screen goes blank, the recording starts, and I see the TV in real time. Is this working as intended? I would have thought that the tv would have kept the screen paused, whilst recording happens in the background.

Risk godstorm support is being worked on now. Despite a weak AI (which doesn't matter if you have human players), I haven't noticed any problems with implementation. You can download/install here
I have several mpeg2 files of TV Episodes that I have archived over the years saved on a few networked drives. For a good amount of them I had created episodic screenshot images (jpegs) named in the same manner as the corresponding mpegs. I used MyVideos' episode info retrieval tool on several directories and it deleted my images!
Are those images gone forever or have they been incorporated into the "MyDatabase.mdb" file? Is there a way to extract them from the database and return them to their orignal locations?
I have noticed that a few channel names are duplicated. I am receiving my broadcasts from emley moor transmitter. But on further inspection of these channels I have noticed they are broadcasting slighty out to the other channels or may not have audio.
Some even have different adverts which would suggest that I'm picking up from more that one transmitter, or are they doing for freeview what they do for sky.
You have your normal national bbc/itv channels but also the local ones.
On running showshifter these channels are also picked up but given the channel numbers of 100+
Alright, I went back 35 or so pages, trying to see if a solution to my problem could be found, but I unfortunately didn't stumble across a suitable thread.
Using a Hauppage WinTV-PVR 150, I installed and configured GB-PVR according to the QuickStart guide in the Wiki.
Exited the configuration, restarted it and Updated EPG. Changed 'Source Channel' according to the channel numbers I use both on my TV and in WinTV (changed the channel numbers in the 'Channels' tab as well).
Started up the GB-PVR application, went into 'TV Guide' and picked a show currently on. Clicked to watch it, and I'm met by a static screen (or black screen if WinTV is running in the background. WinTV will then get the static instead). Same thing happens with the 'Live TV' option.
I'm absolutely clueless about what to do to get a proper display, and I hope I have provided enough information to get some help or a hint.
