Another one of those "which" TV Tuner cards to get questions with a twist. I have a shuttle VIA KM266-based SK41G XPC Here is link

It only has one PCI slot and not much height (the PVR500 is out of the question) I have a PVR350 on order. However now I am getting a little worried about whether this card will fit the little Shuttle? Has anyone have a similar rig and tried? Also, I read the thread about Hauppage cards and Via chipsets not getting along? More worried now!

I have read some favorable reviews about ATI's 550 PRO (smaller then the Hauppage), and gbpvr supports it, which is great!

Perhaps the MSI Theatre 550 Pro TV Tuner would be a better choice? please feel free to throw in your opinions. I have to make a decision ASAP.

P.S. Was this gbpvr software featured once on the new Call For Help with Leo LaPorte TV show? I remember seeing something similar, I looked up the episode show notes, could not find the info about whatever it was called.

I have been looking for a plugin for GBPVR that can record shows automatically by scanning the guide for keywords I.e. anything containing STAR in the Title or programs of history etc type. Does anyone know if something like this exists?

If i then try to click a song using the mouse after ive tried using the remote i get an error message in GB-PVR saying:

"Error:Exception of type InvalidActiveXStateException was thrown"

Anyone know what its doing??

I have installed the dvd 2 mpg plugin and it works great. However I want to go to mpeg 4 (or divx). Does anyone know how to do this?

Has anyone managed to get an antenna rotator working? (search forums for "rotator" turns up blank)

I have a Channelmaster rotator that can be commanded with an IR blaster, (assuming I can program the IR blaster correctly). I'd like the rotator to turn to the proper direction automatically, so that when I'm recording I don't need to remember to point the antenna beforehand. The command to the rotator would be the channel number; the rotator itself is already programmed with the proper angle for each channel.

I am curious about the GBPVR setup for IR blasters. It seems as if the choices for the capture card are "fixed channel", or direct video input. I didn't see an option to send an IRblaster command and also tune the capture card at the same time, but maybe I just missed it.

Worst case I could set up a capture source for each channel I want to receive, and use a different fixed channel for each one, but that sounds painful.

It would be nice to have the Tuning Assistant or a separate plugin that would be able to scan for TV audio. I could get video but no audio on several cable channels and had to use trial & error to find the right frequency to enter into config.

OK. Although the title might be a little confusing I am having a problem and would greatly appreciate anyones help. I a media center box with the gb-pvr software. However I have a lot of avi (DIVX encode) that are widescreen. However when I play them they get zoomed to fullscreen (cutting of the sides). If I use the "Mediaportal" software it plays them just fine. Is there something I can change to get these widescreen movies to play widescreen because the gb-pvr software is so much faster than the "Mediaportal" software I really want to use it. Again any help is very much appreciated.

Just for info, it seems that over at shspvr there have been some problems with a beta MVP release 'killing' people's MVPs; apparently the beta release was intended for the wireless MVP and attempts to flash upgrade the MVP. Thought us guys need to know....

When I use GB-PVR via the ordinary TV interface, and I look up a show in the "Search guide", it will show a list of all the times the show is transmitted during the week. It would be great if I could see if any of these were already programmed to be recorded. If one of the shows was "pending" it could be marked with red, which would tell me that I don't need to select it to be recorded because somebody else already did that.
If I program GB-PVR to record a show, and my wife already programmed GB-PVR to record the same show, but maybe another day, I will only discover the mistake if I look in the Pending list and see the same show appear two times. I have two Tuner cards, so we could even program GB-PVR to record the same show twice at the same time without noticing the mistake.

If I look at my GB-PVR via the web interface, and do an "Episode search", I will see the same list showing all the times the show is transmitted during the week. But in addition I can also see if one of them is already programmed to be recorded. The pending show is marked with a red background. In that way it is easy to see that I don't need to program GB-PVR to be record the show, because I or somebody else already programmed it.
It would be a great help to have the same functionallity via the ordinary TV interface.
