Just installed gbpvr and when watching livetv, the first channel is fine until i change channels. It shows the next channel for about 5 seconds then it goes back to the menu.
I see this in the log but does not know what it means.
I've just gotten set up with a new Hauppauge pvr350 card in a decent older pc (1GHz PIII, 512ram, DVD drive, WinXP) with wired network access. I already have DVDs ripped to the HD and lots of mpeg files. The whole point of setting up the PVR is to watch them on the big TV instead of the PC. I already have a TiVo (still the best user interface, not much capacity on mine tho and cant play files from the network not recorded by it, plus only a 802.11a net connection via usb1, yuck). So, I set playback to use the 350's tv output. Works fine for live tv and recording and playing back from the tuner. However, when I try to play one of the dvds on the HD (ripped with DVD Decrypter) I just get black. Same with most of the mpeg files. I think I found one mpg that worked. If I turn off the 350's output and just use the pc monitor, I can play back any video file from the gbpvr interface. But after starting a dvd file playing, gbpvr stopped responding. The remote didnt work and the only way to get out of the dvd was to end task. So, I'm wondering what I'm missing. I'm also wondering what makes this pvr350 so great if it can only output what it has recorded? I guess it has to use hardware decoding for everything going out of it, instead of codecs loaded on the pc? I have an ATI all-in-wonder that I could install and use for the output to the tv, but I like having the dedicated tv output on the 350 in addition to the vga out to a monitor. Lets me do maintenance/setup. Plus there's the issue of the audio coming out the 350 vs the sound card for different things. I haven't even attemped anything divx related. Is there a 'best' way to set the stuff up that I'm not seeing or am I missing a critical driver or config option or plugin or something? btw I just upgraded the Hauppauge drivers to 2.2 and same thing.
Thanks
Just a small request: When installing GBPVR, the GBPVRTray.exe shortcut goes in to the current user's startup folder. Could this please be changed to the all users startup folder instead? This would be helpful to those of us with installs on shared computers and shouldn't bother the dedicated systems at all.
I'm using GBPVR to my utter satisfaction. However, my Theatrix 550 pro card captures audio (PAL-D) with volume ramped too high... I would need to reduce it by 30%... Is there any possibilty to do so (I was unable to find any volume control)?
Hi, I am new to GB-PVR but what attracted me is the MVPserver.
I run a home file server / media recorder system which I access via XP remote desktop. I have installed GBPVR and got it working with my MVP to play music and video plus the TV listing - but I cannot get it to show Live TV. I take it that it should be able to? It works fine on the PC.
My set up is 3.2G Athlon 64 1Gb / 700Gb, Hauppauge Nova-T USB2 (also ATI AIW 8500DV but I have yet to even think about dual tuners!) running WinXP Pro.
I wonder if any of you have seen this. Ever since I upgraded to 0.94.13, the green cursor of the TV Guide is hardly ever seen, rendering the guide almost useless. I mean - when I use the arrow keys, the guide moves as expected (if there are 4 programs across, then pressing right 4 times causes it to scroll, etc), but the cursor is not seen.
I have noticed that if I press down, then for some channels the green cursor did appear and if I scrolled to the right, and then went up one channel (to a channel that did not show cursor) the cursor would still be visible. But exiting to menu and then back into the guide and the cursor does not appear again.
At first I thought this was a problem in the installation, and rebuilt the capture sources from scratch. This appeared (I emphasize - appeared only) to have made things better, but I guess my checks were not very thorough.
I then found out a problem with my grabber, so I fixed it and waited 1 week for all programs to be replaced, but still no good.
I tried to empty the guide and reload programs - also no good.
I must add that I installed the VA plugin and do not use it, in fact (except that it changed the panel, and the panel shows wrong channel icons most of the time, but that's a different problem, I think).
Trust me to pick the weekend when the wikki site is down.
I have done a search of a few forums and have found no answers or suggestions to why I'm having this problem, which is:
There is something wrong with the S-video out of the MVP or there is something wrong with how my TV is dealing with the signal.
Basically there is a colour signal problem. The GBPVR screen is orange instead of blue and this is also carried through to other playback material, recorded and live feed.
Skin tones are blue.
Both GB-PVR and the MVP menu are affected thru s-video. Have tried it on each, same problem.
Have swapped in 3 different s-cables, have fed direct to TV instead of thru amp, still there.
Have updated to latest version.
Live TV thru GBPVR and Win TV on PC all fine. Thru MVP s-video out problem still there.
No option for selecting S or RCA video so no choice there.
As the problem isn't there thru the RCA video out, you can only assume it is something within the MVP unit itself that handles the S-video output that is the problem.
Or the way my 100Hz Loewe TV handles the s-video output from the MVP
I will try another monitor with S-vid on Tuesday.
