I have just Got my media center together and love gbpvr, but i noticed there is no support for my usb capture device with out using the WDM plugin, which works ok, but then it uses software encoding instead of the hardware encoding avalible on my capture device. So my request is to get support for these USB capture devices. I noticed alot of diffrent brands out there, and mainly on sell at ebay that use the same drivers.
I have been searching for a few hours and havent found any solid info, maybe you guys can help. I was wondering if it would be possible to use an old tivo unit with gbpvr? Is there any way I could put gbpvr (or something similar)on the tivo, either through an add on or a complete reformat of the tivo? Thanks for any help and sorry if this is a really dumb question, im a newbie to all of this.
I use My Music (so this is a wishlist for REven). I would love some sort of Genre listing. So in other words, I can choose "rock" and it will play all the "rock" songs in my play list.
I know that there are other posts with similar problems, I just did not see a solution, so I'm posting anyway...
The weekly and daily recording scheduling does not work for me. The only way I can record reocurring shows reliably is to record all shows on the channel. (or imput each show manually)
I have the newest release of GBPVR, with recordingsmanager (which just renames the recordings).
Iâm trying to do something and do not know if it can even be done, but Iâm out of trial and error options. Thought Iâd ask those that might know such things â graphics is a copy-and-hope-it-works thing for me.
What Iâm trying to do is build an Image (like Foreground) that is the standard GB-PVR 720x480 size, put some graphic elements on it (like buttons) and then lay it over another Image (like Background). Except for the elements I put on it, I want the rest of âForegroundâ to be transparent -- that is, have no effect on the Background that was there before. Also, would prefer not to use a file as the basis for Foreground.
I'm getting a really annoying gap in my EPG, same time every day only on ITV1. Everything else and all other channels are fine. From 5:30am to 9:25am in the morning is the problem time. I've had a look at bleb.org (where I get the epg from) and copied the lines that make up that time period below.
The only thing that stands out is that all programs start with a time and then a description but at 6am there is more than one program on the line. I'm not sure if this is significant or not but I'd really appreciate some pointers in how to sort this out...
Many thanks, Colin.

I just tried to set up a pvr, and I ran into some really crappy performance (video unwatchable due to skipping/stuttering). Now, I want to fix it as cheaply as possible, so I was hoping someone here could help me with choosing the best course of action.
My current stats are:
Athlon 1Ghz
512MB Memory PC100
Diamond Viper V550 (TNT1) 16MB
SoundBlaster Live!
Windows XP
[EDIT]: Also:
Hauppauge PVR 150
One thing that might be a huge problem is that I am using the default driver for the TNT video card (apparently there is no windows 2k/xp driver for the TNT anymore). Sadly, I don't know if this will affect the MPEG decoding. My guess is yes.
Anyway, what should I upgrade to fix my problem? Is this box just totally insufficient or what?
I possibly missed something obvious but I can not find the upgrade procedure on the WIKI or forum.
I'm running 93.10 and want to upgrade to the latest gbpvr while keeping database information, currently scheduled recordings and plug-in settings if possible.
In the config I have the plugins TV Guide, Live TV, Net Radio, Weather, Xrecord, XSearch , Xguide, Shutdown and Videos checked. I'm also using an MVP.
So what I assume would work is
1. Backup the existing gbpvr directory.
2. Download and install the new version
3. Download and install the plug-ins above
And will I still maintain my current database, scheduled recordings and plug-in settings?
