Pardon my ignorance, but I think I'm missing a component to get my GBPVR to display on my TV. From what I've seen in these forums, I guess I also need to buy a Media MVP box to connect to the TV and to my network. Is this correct? Is it possible to schedule recordings from the GBPVR menu (instead of remotely from another PC) if it can be outputted to the TV.
Please let me know if I'm missing something else, my config is:
Shuttle Micro ATX P4 2.4 GHz
2 gb RAM (8 mb shared with onboard Intel i845GV video)
Hauppauge PVR-150 (Retail with remote)
WD 40 GB 7200 RPM IDE HD
Windows XP PRO SP2
Also trying to get a Gyromouse Pro (gyroscopic mouse) to work with the system.
My dream is to be as smart as those of you who can answer my questions!
What is ffmpeg? I think i know what it is, but why do people use it? I don't have it installed and things seem to be working fine, but will things work even better if i use it? Anyone have a "dummy's guide to ffmpeg"?
Before heading down the GB-PVR/tuners cards path on my only PC I wondering whether I would have an issue with someone using our PC at the same time there might say 1 tuner card recording something and 1 being used for watching live TV? Would this be a problem? Would having a dedicated disk drive for GB-PVR recording help?
That is, if I had dual DVB-T tuners, and were recording 2 simultaneous shows, then on top of this if we used the computer (e.g. a game), is there the potential for the recording quality to be affected?
At the moment my PC is a Pentium 4, 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM
I have a minor problem with live preview mode on my GB-PVR system (in sig.) Video is not as smooth on live preview mode as it is on timeshift mode. For example the tickers on news channels look blurry in live preview mode but they are smooth in timeshift mode. Also the video usually starts "breaking up" after I flip through a few channels in live preview mode. Sometimes I have A/V sync issues as well. Anyone have any idea what's up with this? Thanks
I've made several failed attempts at installing plugings (I'm a computer idiot)and therefore have numerous unused files in my GBPVR directory such as Cutterman & Bittersweet. I'd like to do a fresh install to get rid of the clutter (though it's still working perfectly) but want to retain the recording info. In the GBPVR directory I have "GBPVR.mdb", "new.mdb" and "old.mdb". Which of these do I have to copy and then replace in the reinstalled directory to retain the recording info?
I bought one of the clearance MediaMVPs from RadioShack and installed it on my computer. It set up easily and works well with GB-PVR, but I am not happy with the image quality. Overall the image is too dark and the reds seem oversaturated. I've tried a number of drivers up to and including the latest beta on shspvr.com, as well as both the composite and s-video outputs without any luck. Unless anyone has a recommendation, I'll be sticking with my Xcard.
I am running Windows 2003 Server, when I install my 250 I get error 10 - Device cannot start. I have enabled directdraw and windows audio service. What other steps are needed to get the PVR-250 working?
The following is my hardware list:
Intel D845EBG2 Motherboard
Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz
512 Mb Ram
Intel Radeon VE (not used for viewing shows, this pc is only a server)
Hauppauge PVR-250
Will add my 350 if i get the 250 working.
I have looked on the Hauppauge forums, but no help there. I noticed quite a few people on here seem to be running a 250 on win2k3 and thought this was the next place to find help.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
i currently have 2 hauggauge tuner card in my computer (250and a 500MCE). both are installed with no apparent conflicts or other issues. my question is how do i control each one individually? if i want to watch tv on the 250 and have the 500 record 2 shows at once, how do i go about it? or have the 250 record a set of channels and the 500 on another group? right now gbpvr is tuned to the 250 but the inculded wintv app is now configured to the 500. basically i just want to be able to manipulate both cards to my liking wintin gbpvr.
Ok I have a MCE remote V2 and have installed the HIP program. I can get the remote to move up and down the menu and enter but that's about it.
How do I get to map the various keys i.e live Tv to access the GBPVR "live TV" section etc etc. Has anyone there must be some one who has figured all this out and can post a config.
