Hi

I have approx. 1800 albums (in mp3 format) on a remote server, mapped as W: on the gb-pvr machine.

I have run the config app to build the mymusic.db file, which took a little while.

However, when I select one of the folders in MyMusic, it seems to take forever to bring up the list, almost as though it is reading everything across the network . Having a local db, I would have thought that it would have been very quick.

Any ideas as to what's happening here?

I am having a problem with my Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 IR transmitter/remote.... It works great when I first start up, then I will watch TV for a while and when I go back to change the channel the remote doesn't work...... if I bring up the GB recording status it says its sleeping.... I have tryed everything I know with no luck.... I have all the latest drivers for it and I did the fix in the GB config. I have tryed to restarted my WinTV remote controller but when i do that it says that the hardware is not found.... The only thing that seems to work is to restart the system I really dont want to restart the system all the time..... I am using this system just as a PVR can anyone help :confused:

Is it possible to have the computer start up maybe every 2-3 hours or so if it's in hibernate mode. Does anyone have this problem? You are out at work or something and the system is in hibernate mode, but you remember you want to record something. You try to access it through the web, but alas, you can't because your system is in hibernate mode. Obviously GBPVR has a way of waking the computer up from hibernate when it's ready to record, but i'm wondering if it's possible to add a setting that you can have it wake up every couple of hours so that if you remember that recording, you can just wait until the "awake" time and schedule your recording.

Through natural attrition the current pool of pre-release testers is looking a little lite these days, so I'm looking for some additional users that would be interested in helping checkout releases prior to unleashing them on the general public.

If this sounds like something you'd like to do, please send me a PM. I'd also like to see a very breif summary of your setup (what capture cards? MVP? what country etc? What EPG?).

When it gets close to a release, I make pre-release available every 3 or 4 days.

Same old topic... Has anybody had any success with winlirc and gbpvr working together? If I remember correctly there was some months ago someone who made a separate applet for winlirc with gbpvr. I desperately need to use non-hauppauge and non-universal remotes working with gbpvr.

How up to date is everyone keeping their Hauppauge drivers/software? I'm running a PVR-USB2 and (2) Media MVP's but haven't done any updating since last winter. I just noticed their are some new versions and wondering if it's worthwhile...

Please include myBlaster support. I bought it when I saw it was supported. Now it isn't.

Ok, I know there is probably a metric tonne of threads on this particular subject, but it has been frustrating me for quite a while and I'm sick of sorting the wheat from the chaff.

EQUIPMENT

I have MCE 2005 loaded and the NVidia decoder. I've specified the NVidia decoder as the required file where necessary.

I am using the onboard video which isn't fantastic and can't add any other cards as the mobo only allows one (which has the 500MCE decoder card in it). This is a 1.2 Ghz processor, but the decoding is supposed to be taken care of on the card, freeing up the processor.

I can't use MCE because the onboard video chip doesn't pass inspection and returns an error.

I haven't tried the DVD settings yet.

When I tried to scan for FM channels, it went through the entire spectrum but didn't select any. I manually chose one as it was slowly cycling through them and it stuck, otherwise no love.

I loaded GBPVR and got it fairly well set up, except for a couple of things.

1) There is an awful stuttering in live tv. The sound is fine, but the video cuts and jumps.

2) I have the Microsoft remote and can't get it to change the channels. I've specified this remote on the proper page, but no love. Also, is there a way to reprogram it so that the START button runs this program instead of the Media Center?

3) Would it be worth my time to downgrade to XP Pro instead of MCE2005?

I have a pioneer receiver that says it can decode wma9 over optical and coaxial.I have an optical plug installed on mvp is there anyway i could pass wma over my optical cable.

Hi All,

I'm a new user of GB-PVR, with a MediaMVP and a Hauppause 350. Things work pretty good, except that the MVP seems to crash too much. Certainly too much for my taste. I think this is related to the dongle.bin file of the MediaMVP, and NOT an issue with GB-PVR because I don't have any such problems when using GB-PVR on my PC.

Symptons: These crashes seem to occur when doing different things, but always end up with the MVP changing to "Contacting Server..." and hanging there. It's only resolved after I restart the GB-PVR service, sometimes twice. As far as I can remember, these problems occur when hitting the "Back" button on the remote after watching part of a movie (consistent), when skipping or FF/RWing (intermittent), and several other situations which escape me at the moment.

Any answers to the following questions would be greatly appreciated.

1) Can I even replace dongle.bin, or does GB-PVR require a certain version to work right? I don't care about the volume bars or stop buttons that apparently disappeared in more recent dongle.bin's (so I hear). I just want it stable.

2) How do I "install" new/different dongle.bin files for use with GB-PVR? Can I just take that one file out of the self-installing MVP .exe files and put it in GB-PVR's dongle directory (after renaming the old file)? Or are any other files from those Hauppauge Media MVP releases necessary for GB-PVR?

3) How do I find out what MediaMVP "version" I have? Like D1a or D3 or whatever?

4) Could this also be a problem with the renderer (ie. VMR9, VMR7, or Overlay) or mpeg decoder, or would I then experience problems when using GB-PVR on my PC too?

5) Any other possible causes for these crashes that I might be overlooking?


Oh, a separate issue... some of my recordings are screwed up (on both the PC AND over the MVP)... the picture rolls a bit, like the vertical sync is off for a traditional signal. Could this have something to do with the computer being too overworked at the time of the recording?
