Suggestion for Wiki / Plugin updates
Posted by: tomahawk51 - 2005-06-16, 06:32 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Gotta love all the work going on in both with GBPVR and 3rd party plugins; really nice stuff.

I have been confused in the past, and I assume others will be in the future, by the ambiguity of plugin descriptions. This relates solely to legacy plugins that have been incorporated into new plugins.

Example: Comics is now only working in RSS Reader
dvd2mpeg is more functional in the new video archiver
musicplayer has replaced jukebox

It would be GREAT if the authors could throw up a big disclaimer on the Old plugin that states this. I realize that it is still useful to keep the old one in place, but just give the info.

If I am missing something (aside from the date list), please let me know.

  Can't Rewind (Recordings or Timeshift)
Posted by: yeklim1 - 2005-06-16, 06:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am using a hauppauge pvr 150 with the included remote and have found this problem to be most annoying. The remote works perfectly other than rewind. when i hit rewind, instead of rewinding, the picture just freezes when I hold it down. If I tap it, the picture will freeze for a second, then continue to play without sound at normal speed (forward). This muted play will persist until I hit the play button again. Any idea whats going on?

  Black Screen on Playback
Posted by: soccerdad - 2005-06-16, 05:17 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (18)

I have thrown this out there in the past but I have a problem that keeps giving me fits. Sometimes, usually after the system has been idle for a while or overnight, I try to look at a recording through Recordings or Xrecord. everything looks like it will start but I only get a black screen and no sound. I even get the resume or restart show box, but just a black behind it. I changed MVP's, changed the dongle.bin file, but still have the problem. I saved the log file that I got just after it happened. I would be happy to send it to someone to look at. I inserted a small amount of the file below. Shutting off the MVP with the remote and restarting it usually clears it and it will work again. Sometimes I have to restart the recording service. Any ideas? I love this program and just donated but my wife is over having to work with it so much to get a video to play. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

Posted by: HamsterGirl35 - 2005-06-16, 05:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Does anyone know why:
GBPVR hung when trying to cancel a scheduled show?

In the past, I was able to cancel a scheduled show no problem, but for some strange reason, recently, everytime I try to cancel a scheduled one, it hangs on me.....and I had to force to close the GBPVR application and restart.....

Help

BTW, how do I know what version of GBPVR software do I have?

Things to bring back in next revision
Posted by: capone - 2005-06-16, 05:09 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (18)

The switching to timeshift message.
- I can't always see the HD light on the pvr, so I can't tell if it's started to play or not anymore. Maybe this could be an option. An additional tweak could be to let you enter a mesage to display, or more amitiously, an image (always partial to the indian head b&w test pattern)

Pressing record while watching persists after exit
- Mentioned this before. It's nice to be able to get what you've already seen, and be able to exit the show to watch something else, or go to bed w/o leaving the channel on.

0911 responsivness for the 150 (et al) when watching TS tv
- This one may just have to come in time, but again, however things were in v0911 was great for TS loading and time grid switching.

DVD Author question for My Videos DVD Burning
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-06-16, 04:52 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (9)

Anyone know what this error means when trying to run dvdauthor:

WARN: Skipping Sector, waiting for first VOBU...

It looks like it keeps repeating this error indefinately... Is something wrong with the mpeg file that i'm trying to burn?

If so, i had used Video ReDO to remove commercials and re-encoded. And the other thing that i do is run the demux utility every night...

  Source priority/selection
Posted by: Zacken - 2005-06-16, 02:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have Gbpvr version 0.92.11 and xrecord plugin
source 1 = PVR350
source 2 = usb2
What I can se source 1 is used for recording and source 2 isused fot LiveTV

My problem is then I will record 2 programs on one channel
for ex on Discovery that I can record from both source and
program 1 starts at 20:00 to 21:00
program 2 starts at 21:00 to 22:00
First will use source # 1
second will use source # 2

Because On source 2 I will use LiveTV and look on a program that starts at 21:10

How can I controll this on a simple way?

  TV output enabled at boot
Posted by: GremlinX - 2005-06-16, 02:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have a GeForce FX 5200 and I am using S-video to connect to my TV. However, if I turn on my PC before turning on my TV I don't get any TV output and I have to reset my PC. Is there anyway to force TV output to always be enabled, even if the TV is turned off on boot, so that when the TV does get turned on it works without rebooting?

Thanks!

Posted by: Darkside - 2005-06-16, 08:50 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Little poll to see what Mux filters are being used and what versions they are.

Aim to find the best mux filter to use, where to get it from and how to install it.

Following on from al the mux filter issues in the support forum.

you can use the directshow filter manager found at -
http://www.softella.com/dsfm/index.en.htm
to see what you have installed.

Right click on the .ax files to find out their version
