  Caller ID
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2005-06-07, 03:12 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

A while ago I put code here for the beginnings of a caller ID plugin. It was working fine, it just lacked some capabilities from GBPVR itself.

If GBPBR is capable of this now (sub?), someone should pick up support for this plugin because it can be VERY handy to see caller ID info up on your TV screen Smile The code is probably here somewhere, but if someone wants it, I probably still have it on my machine.

  Multiple irblaster / HaupBlast configs
Posted by: cheval - 2005-06-07, 02:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have three pvr 150s in my machine all setup to use haupblast to control the external tuners. However, no matter which capture card is being used the ir blaster on only one of the tuners is changing the channel. So I get one tuner that changes channel all the time and the other tuners just sit on the same channel. No matter how I disable the channels in the tuner where the ir blast signals are being sent to (disable all of them from config) the signals keep being sent to this blaster.

Are there any options to HaupBlast to tell it the capture card that it should use the ir blaster from?

Also is there a way to specify the configuration for each individual ir blaster? For example, if I wanted to set one tuner to use a different ir code then the others?

Thanks for the help

  X-Record / Fast Find
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-06-07, 02:40 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (5)

To the developer: You've done a great job with this plugin-- i remember when i first started using it, it was full of so many bugs, i just got scared to touch it with a 10 foot pole. Now it works BEAUTIFULLY!

However, what i've noticed under fast find it doesn't recognize that i have two capture cards. So if i try to record something with fast find, and there is another show being recorded at the same time, it will tell methat i have to cancel one or the other, which forces me to go to the tv guide and record the show from there.

9208 no live TV or recordings now
Posted by: Networker - 2005-06-07, 02:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've searched, and I think I did a fairly decent job at it before posting this.

This is my new box, it has never had GBPVR installed on it. The cards are
two PVR150, Windows see them just fine. WinTV sees the one and then when the second card went in showed TV on there.

Installed 9208 and configured the two catpure devices. I was able to see TV and I was happy.. left the box alone (other than changing the names of the capture devices) over night.. Thought to myself, I haven't really tested this, my first PVR150 works but I need to set a recording up and try and watch live TV on a second channel to see if both PVRs work.

So last night I got everything in order and tried the above. NO live, no recordings, though the status said both tuners were being used. Here is the OLD logs and my attempt with a CLEAN install done this morning.

I have seen 9211 and have downloaded it and installed, not tested yet.

** For some reason I am only able to upload this one file, I guess the other way is too large **

Thanks.

John

  Different Channel Change Issue
Posted by: gossman - 2005-06-07, 12:03 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

I am unable to change channels using the MVP,

Either from TV Guide or manually (and yes I do hit the numbers then OK).

I have the following setup:
- Hauppauge 150
- Pentium 3.2 GHZ
- 1 GB Mem
- 80 GB HD
- 120 GB HD
- 100 Mb Ethernet link
- MVP

I have everything working; well most things - I posted a similar problem where GB-PVR won't change channels prior to recording a scheduled program.

I can use either the direcTV control or IRblaster, currently I have it configured with the IR blaster (the one that came with the Hauppauge card). I can bring up GB-PVR on the PC and switch channels, but just can't do it via the MVP.

Won't change channel prior to recording
Posted by: gossman - 2005-06-07, 11:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I setup GB-PVR, here is my setup:
- Hauppauge 150
- DirecTV STB (older Sony-B55)
- Pentium 3.2 GHZ
- 1 GB mem
- 80 MB+ HD
- 120 MB+ HD

In addition, I also have a MVP in a different room with it enabled to use the GB-PVR service rather than the Hauppauge one.

I have the ability to use either the IR blaster or the direcTV serial control setup. But for now I am concentrating on the IR blaster because I had problems getting the DirecTV control and MVP to work (I could not change channels).

So, I have everything working, I can "surf", i.e. change channels manually, etc. But if I setup a show to record - I get a recording of whatever channel the STB was on, not the new one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Crash with two BDA cards after watching Live TV
Posted by: simon - 2005-06-07, 07:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I was watching TV last night after the update. One Nova-T used to watch the BBC, the other doing nothing. All ok until I hit back on the remote to exit live TV. I then got a crash and a windows debug message. Once I'd closed all the debug windows, GBPVR was shut down, but one of my novas was still showing as being in Live Preview mode. I had to restart recording service to release it.

Anyone else seen this problem?

Logs attached.

But, rectracker.mdb is still empty after I finished a recording.....

Unable to record or timeshift with PVR500MCE
Posted by: kieron - 2005-06-07, 06:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I'm running a Hauppauge WinTV PVR500MCE with GBPVR. After fighting with MythTV on Linux for a while, the swap to GBPVR was relatively painless Smile

Except that I'm unable to timeshift or record TV; LiveTV works fine, but when clicking on the pause button on the Live TV screen, I get the 'Switching to timeshift mode, Please wait' message and then I'm bounced back to the main menu. I'm assuming this isn't the intended behaviour! Likewise, when I try to record a show, either using quickrecord, or scheduled recording, I get no errors, the app believes its recording, but no files are created in the recordings directory.

I've dug around the log files a bit, this is the contents of the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log file:

18:01:21.359 ERROR failed to start Conexant Graph
18:01:21.406 VERBOSE ERROR_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED

All suggestions, help, assistance etc kindly appreciated.

Cheers,
Kieron.

OT: serial connection on cable box
Posted by: vitaminman - 2005-06-07, 06:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hello,

My digital cable tuner box is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000. On the back there is a port marked DATA, it looks very similar to a PS-2 or older Macintosh printer/modem serial connection. It is an 8-pin female connection...

Can I connect a cable from my PC to this in order to change channels? I'm trying to avoid having to purchase an external ir transmitter to change channels.

Take care,

Nick
