Can anyone tell me what's happening here, I'm a bit confused, but being new that's normal i suppose.
Comcast my cable provider has swapped some of the channels around, again!
What happens is the epg data that gets downloaded each night does not reflect those changes, even though looking at the site, Zap2it has made the changes in the guides shown. It's been a couple of weeks now so today i figured i needed to do something as I'm recording the wrong channel. I tried to add manually, no go. I tried to empty the epg and update, no go. Then i just deleted the entire configuration and redid it all. Same thing. channels show fine on zap2it site but the data i download is still wrong for those 3 channels.
Does it take a few weeks before everything gets sync'd up again, or am i don't something wrong?
Im having trouble getting my mvp to boot gbpvr using a crossover cable. If I boot hauppauge soft, put mvp in standby and then shutdown hauppauge soft and start gbpvr it will load gbpvr.
Things ive tried so far are:
copying dongle.bin to gbpvr folder and dongle folder.
fresh os install
various vs. of hauppauge
various static ip address
2 pc's laptop and pc
short cable, long cable
router using dhcp no crossover work
the laptop and pc both have 2 network cards one using dhcp through the router the other with a static ip for crossover.
Very nice job you have all done here gbpvr is sweet the amount of plugins and dev is unbelievable.
Hey all... I want to make a PVR for my entertainment system. I have an old 866MHz PIII with 512MB of RAM. I have a 64mb nVidia graphics card laying around somewhere too. I am going to buy a Hauppauge PVR150. Will this system work fine (and not too sluggish)?
If not, what would be the most cost efficient way to get this PVR to work more smoothly? Would the best thing be to get a better graphics card, or to get a new mobo/cpu combo? If I can get by without any of this, that would be great.
I am trying to make this PVR with the least amount of money as possible, thanks!
I am toying with building a system using MediaMVP to send the AV to my TV/HT system. I am curious about what PVR card is best for complete functionality.
I have sourced the following:
Theater 550 pro
PVR 150
What I am hearing is that they are both good. The prices are comparible so I am more concerned with smooth interaction between the capture card on the pc and the MediaMVP system.
Comments?
Oh, and does anyone have the definitive answer on the MSI Theater 550 pro? Is it a PCIe or PCI card? I am seeing advertisement and marketing material that it is PCI, yet the picture is PCIe.
I've been swapping back and forth between two system drives over the past week or more by opening chassis and swapping IDE cable. It occurs to me it would be handy to have a front-loading 'caddy' style system. Can anyone recommend anything reliable, quick to change, reasonable price etc.
Noticed that a few of the stations are no longer working.
I figure it's easy enough to remove the old ones, but what about adding new?
I realize they've got to be in a .pls format
Looking for some classic rock, like http://www.kzps.com but there doesn't seem to be a .pls anywhere.
Anyone else have any good ones?
Just downloaded and installed the latest release of GB-PVR 09112b. After the initial install and configuration I was able to see the DVD menu button. I exited the program and reconfigured the location of some file folders, and ever since then the DVD menu button has gone AWOL. Any suggestions.
Hi,
I'm using GB PVR over theTV out of my PVR-350 card. I have a 34 button remote. Whenever I'm in the GUI, and I press "back" one time too much, the application exits.
What I would like is the ability to go back using the remote, but disable exiting the application when I press "back" to many times.
Is this possible ? I would like the app to be running all the time.
When I press pause to enter timsehift mode from live tv, gbpvr just hangs at the "please wait" message. If I luse Explorer to look in the buffer directory, the show is recording fine, I just can't watch it. What looks like the releavnt log extract is pasted below: I can see two potential problems. One is the message relating to filters, and the other is the message saying the buffer file is already in use. Any idea how I can fix this? It used to work fine.
I have a Lifeview FlyDVB-T PCI card installed, and am trying to use it with GB-PVR. I have managed to get it to scan for channels, and have mapped the channels to the EPG, getting the channel previews working in the appropriate box. However, when I run the application and try to watch TV, I get a message that "No capture-source was available to enable you to watch the requested channel". I don't know what I should be setting for my "channel changer", so that has been left as "no channel changer required". I can't see any other settings that are appropriate.
I live in London, UK, and my nearest transmitter is at Crystal Palace.
