  Hauppauge IR Blaster Problem
Posted by: Stargazer_Ken - 2005-05-11, 04:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have the IR Blaster set up to talk to my cable box which works fine. When I set it up to record, it changes the channel then shuts down the recording service based on watching communication on the Sygate firewall. If I change the config to No Channel Changer Required, it records fine. I have tried having the Hauppauge IR program on and off, no change. Yesterday, somehow it worked for a while but when I turned the computer on today, it failed and I haven't been able to get it going again. The only consistency is turning the Hauppauge IR Changer off and have it work. Of course then I can't change channels! I have searched the forum and haven't been able to find anything.

Also, when I change the Quality Profile Setting, it doesn' stick. If I go back in, it is back at Medium.....

  Can only record "active" channel
Posted by: Nnyan - 2005-05-11, 03:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Ok,

Other then my no sound during live tv the only remaining problem I have is that I can only record (on either tuner on the PVR-500) the current channel that I am tuned to on my cable box. Here is how I'm connected.

digital cable----cable box----splitter (other to TV)----pvr500----TV svideo

I have to have something configured incorrectly b/c I should be able to record 1 or 2 channels while watching another (if I am not watching live tv via GB-PVR and switch to my TV input).

Any help will be greatly appreciated these are the last two issue remaining (until I get my remote = )

Thanks

Windows 2003 Server support for PVR-500
Posted by: jesse_breaker - 2005-05-11, 03:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Guys, I am tired of XP and it little things that bug me Wink I would like to move to Windows 2003 Server, and I have heard from people on this board that it works with gbpvr, etc (even mediamvp).

My question is, when I go to install my PVR-500, what drivers do I use with it? Does it come with Windows 2003 drivers ? Can I use the XP drivers with Windows 2003?

Trouble Booting GBPVR on MVP using crossover
Posted by: ryanmc - 2005-05-11, 12:21 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Im having trouble getting my mvp to boot gbpvr using a crossover cable. If I boot hauppauge soft, put mvp in standby and then shutdown hauppauge soft and start gbpvr it will load gbpvr.
Things ive tried so far are:
copying dongle.bin to gbpvr folder and dongle folder.
fresh os install
various vs. of hauppauge
various static ip address
2 pc's laptop and pc
short cable, long cable
router using dhcp no crossover work

the laptop and pc both have 2 network cards one using dhcp through the router the other with a static ip for crossover.

Very nice job you have all done here gbpvr is sweet the amount of plugins and dev is unbelievable.

  PVR without a PVR card!
Posted by: slayer - 2005-05-10, 10:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

OK, working on new angle here. Apologies if its a dumb question.

I dont actually need my PVR-350 card. (especially after it stopped working).

What I have found is I dont really need to record terrestrial channels - I only use the svideo-in of the Wintv card to record/watch shows from my Telewest cable, because my terrestrial reception is bad.

So, my pvr-350 has gone caput, BUT wait - I still have my Sigma X-card. And it has Svideo-in.

Can i install that instead, and still record shows from my cable box, and play then back? Plus of course get the bonus of smooth DIVX playback? :-)

Sub - do you do a 'no-TV card' option, ie S-video in only? I like the PVR-350, but the darn thing get so hot, I cant achieve silence nirvana...

cheers,

  Search Confg.xml
Posted by: Ron22 - 2005-05-10, 09:32 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (5)

Remember I am new to C# and .net program so be nice Smile
How would I search the config.xml passed to the plugin for a partial string? I want to search for “MAC-“
I am currently using
XmlNode node = doc.SelectSingleNode("/settings/MVPWidth")
to read in the sections I want.
Currently the only thing I can think of is using NextSibling and stepping through the file and comparing them. Is there an easier way?

How do I put recordings from a previous install back into the "recordings" database?
Posted by: sabrewulf165 - 2005-05-10, 08:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have been tinkering with gbpvr, my hardware, and various codecs quite a bit and so I have reinstalled both gbpvr and windows once or twice so far. My question is, how can I get the recordings from a previous installation to show up in the "ready recordings" menu again with all of the title, subtitle, and time/date information that they had after I first recorded them? Also, how might I back up and reinstall this information in the future?

Thanks for any help!
