  Weird Forum Problems?
Posted by: rtiangha - 2005-03-24, 10:52 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Like the new digs. However, when I log in, all of the threads seem to dissapear and when I click on a forum topic (like Support for example), the only threads I see are threads that I participated in. Otherwise, there are no messages whatsoever. But when I log out, all the threads are there and I can read them; just not when I'm logged in. Is anyone experiencing this too?

Edit: Looks like some other people have noticed this too. Sorry about another thread about this, but I can't reply to those threads either (says I don't have permission)

  new skin: black
Posted by: dottore - 2005-03-24, 10:26 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (24)

strange forum behaviour: when i am logged in, i cannot see any posts. when i log out, everything is ok.

i am going to design a new skin. since there are a lot of blue skins and quite a big amount of skins using much colours, i decided to make a clean b&w skin. it will look like this:

so we will have blue, red, green and a black skin :-)

  Winfast TV2000 XP Expert Compatiblility
Posted by: playaz33 - 2005-03-24, 10:05 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Is my Winfast TV2000 XP Expert compatible with GB_PVR? I tried using the Leadtek Winfast PVR2000 but it doesn't work. When I try to play live TV, it gives me the message: Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

  PVR-350 Composite 3 input
Posted by: Grimper - 2005-03-24, 09:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have a problem using the composite 3 input on my PVR-350 card, when I select this input I get video displayed, but audio is still coming from the composite 1 input (the 3.5mm jack on the back of the card, I plug in an mp3 player and get the music from that!) whereas when I select composite 3 input in WinTV2000 application from Haupauge the sound and video are both input correctly via the J9 header on the PCB.

The reason for using the composite 3 input is that I can then use a custom cable that has individually screened cables, rather than the SCART lead that comes with the PVR-350 card as I seem to get ghosting when I use the SCART lead, and it is seems to be nowhere as bad when I use the custom cable I have made (more testing required though!)

Cheers for any help!

  Weird Forum behavior
Posted by: piotre - 2005-03-24, 09:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Since the new Forum is online I have a funny but anoying problem:
I only see posts If I am not logged in. As soon as I log in it teels me there are no posts at all. After logging out again I can see tham all again.

Anybody else having the same problem? Or is it related to the fact I had to reset my password for the new forum and now do not have the rights to see the posts or something?

MPEG2 (codec guide) & MS DECCHECK
Posted by: BenTO - 2005-03-23, 07:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

After the last upgrade, my system couldn't properly playback MPEG2 files.  Playback was blocky or slow. I didn't want to reinstall my entire Windows system.  In the end, it was a codec issue.  After searching here and on google, I found the following useful links and tools:

Microsoft DECCheck

Media Portal Mpeg2 guide

Codecs are still confusing to me, but after running the above, I know what is running and how to install new codecs for playback in GB-PVR.

Hope this helps others as well...

  v0.91.7 Maintenance Release
Posted by: sub - 2005-03-23, 07:12 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (12)

I've just uploaded a maintenance release which addresses a few of the problems raised with the v0.91 release last week. You can download this updated version from http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR09107.msi

From the change.log:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]2005-03-22 v0.91.7
- Fixed a bug that stopped the user being able to learn a remote with the USB-UIRT.
- Had another go at fixing the bug with pre/post padding. Hopefully this time...
- Added some improvements to how shows are allocated to capture sources so that we'll get better usage of tuners in multi capture-source setups.
- Added 'MVP Transcode pre-play delay' option. Slower machines may need to increase this value to play AVI files on their MVP.
- Added a setting for trying to force the use of ffdshow (if installed) for MVP AVI transcoding. This can be usefull if you have a lot of non-fullscreen AVIs that you want to view on your MVP, or if your want to tweak the image size/color/shape/etc.
- Fixed a bug that could stop web components from being updated during an upgrade from a previous version.
- Fixed a bug where the 'force minimal OSD on MVP' was also being used on the PC monitor in Live Preview mode TV.
- Fixed a problem with the alpha channel when using the VMR7 renderer. It could previously cause a very dark (almost opaque) screen when the OSD was visible.
- Fixed a bug with the tray icon's UpdateEPG menu option.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a 'object reference not set' error if you entered the TV Guide before it have finished its background initialization.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a black screen directly accessing a plugin using the -direct command line parameter
- Added support for BDA devices that user combined tuner/capture filter. This should now enable GB-PVR to work with the Nova-T USB2.

  Problem with custom tasks
Posted by: joshley - 2005-03-23, 05:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hola!

Whenever I try to set up a custom task, generally it doesn't work. I point to an executable file, but the program tries to launch from the devnz GB-PVR directory. For example, with Doom 3, it will begin to load, but in the boot screen console, it says 'C:\Program Files\devnz\.../base'. On the previous version of GB-PVR to the latest release, I could fix this by having the Custom Task point to a link (.lnk) file. Now if I try this, all that happens is a message pops up in GB-PVR reporting that there is no program associated with that file. So now to get around it I have to set up a batch file and point to that instead! Anyone else getting this?

josh
