  Hauppauge remote problems
Posted by: Banshai - 2005-03-06, 07:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Have been trying to get GB set up on various computers..started with a little embedded Via 1.2 Gigapro...with 512 Meg and WinTV 150 and XP pro it doesnt exactly fly but it works ok...Hauppauge's wintv2000 and beyond tv 3.2 both work fine, but I cant seem to get the remote to work right with GB,particularly on time-shifted tv...pausing and just restarting works okay mostly but everything else pretty much goes to crap...sound dies and live tv seems to run on ahead but no sound...I cant find much about setting/changing anything on the remote, I have just been able to enable it or pick a different one...saw another post about remote.ini...Do I need to edit this? where? how? just manually? If I could get the remote to work I would really like GB a lot better [Image: smile.gif]

  GeForceFX 5200 Lite Edition
Posted by: rennocneb - 2005-03-06, 04:54 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi im using an evga GeForceFX 5200 Lite Edition with the NVIDIA DVD Decoder. I was wandering if id get better results using a faster video card. Like a 6600gt with the pure video technology? Does anyone know exactly what a lite edition is? are the tv outs on them of the quality of the more exspensive nvidia products?

  Hauppauge IR remote
Posted by: SteveTyrakowski - 2005-03-06, 02:55 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hi,

I've got a pvr350 and I'm having trouble getting the remote hardware installed. When I plug the cable in the card, the IR Blaster stays lit (I don't think that is normal) and when I run teh IR Blaster config program it says it does not see the hardware.

I've got 3 PVR150's set up in a server for a couple MVPs, so I don't need those IR cables, and I get the same problem if I try to use one of them in the 350. The jack does not seem snug, but it won't go in any further. The location to the side of the back plate makes it seem like the computer case could get in the way of the receptacle. I don't want to start hacking up the case unless I know for sure that is the problem.

Has anyone had similar problems? I don't know if I should bother messing with this or break down and get a USB UIRT. I'd rather not spend another $50 for something that I've already got.

PreProcessing.bat - called when recording begins
Posted by: jimh - 2005-03-06, 01:43 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

sub: Would it be difficult to add to GBPVR a call to a batch file whenever a recording commences, in much the same way that PostProcessing.bat is called everytime a recording ends?  The only parameter that needed to be passed would be the name of the file being written to, just like PostProcessing.bat currently does.

I have several features in mind that would become feasible: audible alert that recording has commenced (or is on-going); free disk space alert if projected file size was too large for remaining disk space; and probably a few others too.  I'm sure there are at least a few people with external LED's that could be lit when recording begins and turned off when recording ends, too.

Keep up the great work - I welcome the opportunity to write some more stand-alone utilities for this great software!

  DVD's on MVP
Posted by: xenomorph - 2005-03-06, 01:29 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (124)

I've just finished setting up an MVP on my network using the GB-PVR software and everything is working great.
When I'm using the menu on the PC, the DVD option is in the list. When I connect using the MVP, everything is in the menu except the DVD option so I assume that it isn't possible to stream dvd movies over GB-PVR MVP Server to the Hauppauge MVP box.

Can anyone can confirm this?

Thanks
Xenomorph

  full screen mode
Posted by: cspaulding1 - 2005-03-06, 12:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I am amazed at the level of this program. I just bought a hauppauge wintv usb 2.0 and have tried demos of all the other pvrs out there. Not only does this one blow them all away but it is free too. Thanks!

I have one question though. When I maximize the screen (using Win XP), the task bar and the top bar are still showing. Is there a way to go to full screen mode and not have any windows components showing?

Everything else is running like a dream. Thanks, again.

  DVD playback blank
Posted by: Tugboat - 2005-03-05, 09:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi

I've recently downloaded gbpvr and am very impressed! The only problem I have is with DVD playback - whenever I insert a DVD and then choose "DVD" from the main menu the screen goes blank (black) and does not play the DVD.

My PC's DVD player works fine (to prove the point I attempted to play the same DVD using media player classic and all was fine). Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Thanks in advance

  Instability Issues
Posted by: rennocneb - 2005-03-05, 09:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi imhaving stability issues using GBPVR. The system is an intel P4 2.8 with 512mb of RAM 250GB 16mb cache Maxtor Hard disk, nVIDIA FX5200 Lite Edition, WinTV PVR 150 tuner, using their latest remote software and cyberlink Power DVD's Decoder. The system is rock solid stable in windows (Windows XP Pro SP2) and seems at times to be stable in GBPVR(When setting unatteneded most of the time when doing recordings) It gives me the most trouble during playback,or when recording and doing other things) Also it has become nearly unusable after installing MyVideos and ComSkip .65 Im also wondering if it could be a power supply issue. Im using a coolermaster Home Theater PC CASE with a 300 watt powersupply.

No recorded shows after FAT32 > NTFS
Posted by: mrming - 2005-03-05, 07:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I just converted the file system on my recordings drive to NTFS from FAT32. All the files in the drive are intact but GBPVR thinks it no longer has any recorded shows. Is there any way to get it to see the files again?

thanks,

Mr Ming [Image: smile.gif]
