Can anybody advise a new user please on getting this working.
1. Can't get the Redrat Changer Plugin to work - is this just for the Redrat 2 or should it work with 3?
2. The .exe Changer Plugin does not do anything even though the Redrat SendMacroW command works fine outside GB-PVR (and from within Showshifter). I've put it in the root (C:\SendMacroW) to avoid possible path problems and have tried both {channel} and explicit channel number.
3. Only other possible solution is Girder but I would rather not be pushed down this route (or wait for Hauppauge to get round to supporting UK sat boxes with the IRBlaster).
There is not a lot to configure with these and I get no feedback/errors/logs, so I'm a bit stuck. I'm using a PBR-150 card with svideo input with the latest 9010 GB-PVR release.
I am also assuming that it should change channel when I select both watch and record from the guide (I've tried both).

I keep seeing lots of mentions of ffdshow and I get an idea of why its useful, but is there a handy summary of when and why GBPVR uses it and what ffdshow settings are useful?

I am new to this so please bear with me. I have been looking at the PC to TV thing for my family room. I am always connecting my laptop up for my husband and his buddy to surf on. If I set up the system, he can watch TV on the PC or TV and use the channel guides and record, etc. Will he also be able to such the net on the TV and open files via the TV? Am I wrong to assume that this is basically just enabling the TV to act as a display device? Thanks!

SHS claims on that site to have had some success running the 550 with gbpvr. Your program can fill a hugh void given the utterly horrible software that accompanies the 550 cards.
Just got GB-PVR working on my computer and I really love it. Now the next thing is to get the signal to my TVs. I don't have network cables running in the house so getting MVP would require some efforts, but I came across this company ( http://www.crossbarmedia.com/ ) that claims to modulate signal from any source directly into coax wiring, that I already have in every room of my house. Am I missing something or that looks like the right solution?
sub with every version of gbpvr whenever i try to play an iso file when a dvd is in my dvd drive, it will mount the iso file but play the dvd in the drive, and not the virtual dvd mounted. err just a bug report i guess.
I've been a very satisfied user for a few months. Â I've been running 907c with much success using a PVR250 and the MVP. Â
Just today, I started having major problems. Â Some but not all of the time, when I try to run one of the GBPVR executables (config.exe, or the gbpvr client), Windows starts an installation process ("Please wait while Windows configures GB-PVR". Â This is months after I installed GBPVR. Â
Windows asks for the location of the GBPVR msi ("The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable...". Â If I provide the correct location, Windows goes thru the "installation" and basically messes up my config.xml and other settings (e.g., for the Weather and DVDtoMPEG plugins). Â Most everything reverts to the defaults. Â I can go in and change everything back, but this whole process starts over whenever I reboot.
If I "cancel" the installation, I get the message "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product GB-PVR. Windows Installer cannot continue." Â I can then go to the GBPVR root folder and rename "config.retained.xml" back to config.xml, but some of the plugin settings (Weather, DVDtoMPEG) revert back to defaults. Â Also, the default stations for the NetRadio plugin show up again in the NetRadio folder.
The obvious question is "what did I change right before this started happening?" Â Answer: Â I installed the TheatreListings plugin and enabled GBPVR's web administration feature. Â But undoing/changing those things doesn't seem to make any difference.
I've been poking around for hours, trying to read log files and figure out what's going on. Â I've searched the forum and can't find mention of any similar problems. Â I'm guessing that GBPVR is thinking it needs to update something, but I don't know why or what. Â I noticed it was trying to update the database but erroring out because the columns it was trying to add were already there.
I'm out of ideas and really frustrated. Â It's worked so well up until today.
Any ideas? Â I can post/email log files if that would help -- just let me know which ones.

Hi. A couple of times I have gone into the guide and opened the show I am recording and I have hit cancel instead of exit. This of course has cuased some major drama's in my household
Is it possible to change the wording to say Cancel this recording? Or even better a pop up that say's "are you sure?" (you want to cancel this recording and suffer the wrath of women kind)
