  TV Guide Broke?
Posted by: Kirock7 - 2005-03-05, 02:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi guys
Fairly new to using the GB-PVR software so I'm still discovering stuff... and unfortunately last night I discovered that the TV Guide seems to be broken.
Don't know if this is because it's not logging in (don't know why it wouldn't... it's worked for the last week) or if I somehow corrupted the file.
Any help would be appreciated... here's a screen cap that might help someone discern the problem:

  Two Issues
Posted by: LPC - 2005-03-05, 01:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Greetings,

I have not been able to get my Hauppauge 150MCE to work with this program and before I continue trying I would like to know what the recording resolutions are. Is 352x240 one of them and if not can it be added or created?

Also, at one point during the configuration process I'm asked which of my tuners I would like to use. I have three of them - two 150's and a Leadtek - but the pulldown menu offers numbers 1-6 and doesn't distinguish them. One of the 150's is set to work with WinTV2000 which is the software from Hauppauge that comes with the card so I don't want that one configured. Instead, I want it to work with the other one.

When I installed both Snapstream and SageTV I was given a listing of my TV tuners and asked which one I wanted configured. The 150's were distinguished as Hauppauge 150 and Hauppague 150 II. It's the second one that I would lke to configure with this program but I dont know know which of the first three selections it is on the pulldown menu when configuring with this program. Is there any way to find out?

Thanks.

  some questions
Posted by: narkuma - 2005-03-05, 11:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I have some questions. Perhaps someone can help me with them...

1) I would like to import my EPG.XML file manually from the GBPVR menu. How can I do that?
2) After wakeup of my PVR PC I would like to restart GBPVR. What commands do I have to write into my wake.cmd?

Thanx
Narkuma

  Crash after program ends
Posted by: oddworld14 - 2005-03-05, 06:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi all,
I just installed my PVR and the only problem i am having is this:
When i watch live tv, after the program ends, the screen that shows forward, pause, rewind etc (and the show timer bar at the top) comes on, and then the whole computer locks up. This happens every time i watch something on live tv. Everything else works fine, and i can watch the show fine (using all the features) till the very end.

This is my specs:
PVR 350
P3 - 1200
asus tusl2-c motherboard
windows xp home

Thanks to all who respond, and i will be around looking so just ask any questions if you want, also

Kyle

  old files
Posted by: soccerdad - 2005-03-05, 02:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi, I have the program working great now with very few bugs, except for it dropping off and searchibg for the server sometime when I am using the MVP.

I screwed up the program while trying to install the time warner skin. I tried to re-update the program and did not get anywhere so I went back to the previous version. I have now moved back up to the current version, however I now have a lot of what I think are junk files in the GBPVR folder. Things like GBPVR tray.exe-3. As long as everything is working well, can I just trash all the -2 and -3 files?

Thanks for the great program and support boards.

  Questions on Playback and Quality
Posted by: Landru - 2005-03-04, 11:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have two questions, but first the setup:

1.8 GHz Celeron
256 MB
WinTV PVR150
MediaMPV
Analog cable

1) Playback through GP-PVR to the computer monitor and the MediaMPV are both stuttering. Live TV and net Radio are fine. Any thought on correcting this?

2) My recordings seem to be a bit fuzzy (some horizontal broken lines). Recordings from the Hauppauge software (WinTV2000 look ok). Any thoughts here?

Thanks!

  Broadcast Flag
Posted by: nobody481 - 2005-03-04, 09:51 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

There was an article on Slashdot a while ago about this. But you know Slashdot, more than 3/4 of the posts were off topic. So what is everyone here planning to do about the Broadcast flag? How do we know what HDTV card to buy for our PC before July 1 that will be best supported in the future?

I know that some organizations such as the EFF are doing "Make Your Own TV" sessions. But they are doing it with Linux and MythTV. What about Windows? And what about something that isn't difficult to configure, as MythTV usually is?

  Error on PVR 350
Posted by: manCREATEDgod - 2005-03-04, 08:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I cant seem to clear this error: It locks GBPVR (black screen output) about once a day, seems to happen when going to live tv most often.

and records the following in the log:
10:37:07.218 VERBOSE DirectShowHelperPVR350:ConfusedetTransparency(157)
10:37:07.218 ERROR SetGlobalAlpha - IKsPropertySet->Set IVAC_OSD_GLOBAL_ALPHA failed

Anything I can try/turn off. I am running XPSp1, .net 1.1, directx 9.0c and have tried various combinations of 350 drivers from shpvr. Should I upgrade to SP2 apply the .net sp1 fix? I have local play turned off. Buy a seperate card for video out? Wait for a patch? [Image: smile.gif]

I also notice a WMIAdapter event 4099 in the system logs. Open of service failed.

Thanks for any thoughts!!
