What can I do?

After having spent more than 2 days of trying to track down why of why I didn't get Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS audio output from GB-PVR, I finally solved the problem!
What I found out was that the setup is quite multi faceted. I tried PowerDVD 4 through 6 and WinDVD 6, and ended up using PowerDVD 5, but this should work on any player.
Also a quick note on my hardware, I'm using an Epia M10k and a PVR150, although I don't think it should make any real difference..

So to get everything working you first have to install a DVD player (or actually just a codec should work too, at least Cyberlink sells one). After the installation is complete open your player and set the video options (mainly the hardware assisted playback) and you can go and set up the audio as well but it won't make a difference in GB-PVR.
Now to get audio working you have to go into Windows Media Player. (Here's where my problems with WinDVD really began, I couldn't get the settings to stick no matter what I tried, might work through a registry setting.) In WMP, go to Tools/Options/DVD and click the Advanced button (don't play a DVD while doing this!. If you have AC3filter installed, it'll probably open now. If it does, go to the System tab and select Prefer other decoder, close ac3filer properties and click on the Advanced button again.
This time you should get PowerDVD's audio configuration window. Just select the appropriate setting (S/PDIF for me atleast) and close the settings and WMP.

Now open GB-PVR's config utility and select the Cyberlink options for both audio setting (sorry, it's late and I'm too lazy to check what the options are called )
And now finally you're ready to go, enjoy clean and crispy multi channel sound with your DVDs!
As I said, I spent two days figuring this out, so I hope this helps some one having similar issues..

Hi. Just noticed that the DVD button is missing from the main menu. It is ticked to show DVD button. DVD ripper button apears if I enable it but no DVD button. It has worked in the past. I am using the &quot;street&quot; skin at the mo I have gone back to the flat blue but no joy. Any ideas?

Try as I might, I couldn't get settings to stick in the 150, even w/ the save settings in the reg and using graphedit. Instead, I have been using the nvidia settings for shapness, saturation, etc. I also find some extra sharpness gained from playing w/ the flicker filter.

Is their a disadvantage to not having the 150 do these functions?

Also, has anyone played w/ the adv resoultion settings?

Just doing a rebuild today (going w/ xp pro instead of mce), and thought I would ask while I was in the process.

If you're preforming an upgrade, I recommend you take a back up of the gbpvr.mdb file incase there is any problems during the upgrade process.

- Fixed a bug that would stop the live preview mode from working with the Overlay renderer.
- Fixed a bug that could cause shows to be broken in 20MB chunks on the second and subsequent channel in timeshift TV mode
- Fixed a skin bug that could make you think some of you recordings are missing. An incorrect number of recordings were being shown, which made the list look only half full
- Fixed a bug that could cause cancelled recordings (within about 20 minutes of record time) to record anyway.
- Fixed a bug where if you closed GB-PVR when viewing live preview mode tv, the recording service would think the capture device was still in use for a while.
- Fixed a bug that for people with Hauppauge cards using fixed-channel tuner option in timeshift mode.
- Removed some extra debug messages that were left in and resulting in large log files.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a new connection to be used for each recording loaded. This should also help load times in the recording screen and tv guide if you've got a lot of recordings.
- Added support for separate volume and channel buttons on the new 45 button Hauppauge remote, and on the MCE remote.
- The config app will now compact the gbpvr.mdb database on closing.
- Changed the way rendering is performed. This will provide a reasonable improvement to menu and plugin screen performance, and should be quite noticeable on slow machines.
- Changed the frequncies in all DVB-T transponder definition files to include offsets in the frequency.
- The TV Guide now wraps around. You can also now press FF/RW to jump forward or back page (2 hours) in the tv guide. On the 45 button Hauppauge remote or MCE remote, the channel up/down buttons will perform page up/down. For those that dont remember, you can also type channel number and press enter to jump to that channel. SkipFoward/SkipBack jumps forward/back a day.

Hello all:

May be this question has been asked. I searched did not find answers. I am running the latest GBPVR02313.msi.

I configured the GBPVR and the LIVE TV works fine(with a little stutter but thats a different matter)

I downloaded the listing using XMLTV. I then pointed the config utilitiy of GBPVR to suck in the listings. However after that step the listings dont show up when I run GBPVR.

Here is a screen shot for that.

Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong.

If you were one of the AMD people w/ a 150 remote that would fail and not restart, they are making headway on getting it fixed.

Two or more days later, w/ restarts, and I still have my remote.

PLEASE: If you want to try to fix this, read that entire thread, do back ups, etc, and do at your own risk w/ no promise of getting same results (or having it go right at all).

The above was in my comfort level, went well for me, and worked for me. If you want to play it safe, since these are beta drivers and not supported yet, you could wait for final release.

I guess the msg to take away here is that they are working on it, and there is a solution.

Btw, there has been no negative impact on the 150's playback itself that *I* can see, so far.

sub could you make it so the OSD dissappears say after 3 seconds when the tv/video is paused, sometimes im trying to read something or just looking at something, and the blue OSD gets in the way.  i like that fact that its displayed, just make it disappear after a few seconds.

ok in the time it took me to write this message the blue osd dissappeared, something like 30seconds to 1min of video being paused, so it does dissappear, just takes to long, so 2 options now, shorten the time (3seconds i think is enough time) or make the time configurable.

ok im an idot, im having one of those days. you can turn it off by pushing the &quot;blue&quot; button.

disregard this, or well still make it 3-5seonds. (its 2.18am maybe i need some sleep .....)

Hi I have an Optus cable box that I have connected to a PVR 350 via the antenna connector. But I can't get the software to tune into correct frequency. Can anyone help with the setup.
