  Setting Up dual tuners
Posted by: easymacfu - 2005-02-12, 06:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hey, I'm trying to set up dual tuners and I'm just making sure to do it right. I flipped through the wiki page and searched the forums, but never found a way to do it.

Anyway:
I go to the Capture Sources menu.
I add 2 sources.
I configure each one.
I get EPG updates for each one.

Questions:
Is this the correct way?
Do I set both boards to #1, or do I set one to #1 and one to #2.
They are different types of cards (PVR-150 and general blackbird), does this matter?

Thank you.

How to reset GB-PVR to original state?
Posted by: philbury - 2005-02-12, 06:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I just got my MediaMVP and managed to set up GB-PVR - fantastic! My problem is that I tried to play around with the plugins and unticked the boxes that I was not currently using; then when I tried to tick them again I couldn't. In desperation I uninstalled and reinstalled but they remained unticked.

Also I'm not clear on how to get the optional plugins to work. I tried installing the weather plugin but it asked for the exe file and I couldn't see one to point to.

V.grateful for any hints -

How to clear a show from the database
Posted by: Pioneer4x4 - 2005-02-12, 05:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have 828 instances of my manual recording for The West Wing! There is hundreds for each week, 1 of which is the valid one to watch. It records fine, but every week it grows seemingly exponentionally.

Can I clear it out from the database so it never tries again? And clear out the 828 occurances? I don't want to uninstall and start over since I have a collection of shows in the database.

  implements IMenuTask, IEventNotification
Posted by: reven - 2005-02-12, 05:01 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (5)

is there anyway to detect what is initializing the plugin and only create the things needed for each?  ie for IEventNotification i only use the one method Notify(EventTypes eventType, string eventText) and it uses nothing else of the plugin (nothing at all needs to be initiated) but everything is being created twice since it implements both of them.  anyway around this?  i could create another dll just for the IEventNotification, but that seems a little silly.

i may try making a few more things static and see if they have been created yet, but i cant do this for everything.  anyone got any ideas?

  Multi tuner setup
Posted by: Darx-starz - 2005-02-12, 04:56 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hi. I have custom rig that sits under my TV and all it does is PVR. I have installed a PVR350 and I use the Comp output on the card for TVout. Everything works fine now. However, I want to add a second card; a PVR150 so that I can record 2 things at the same time. How do I do this? Do I just put the card in and install the drivers for the PVR150 and go configure in GB-PVR? Is that it? Any tricks or gotcha's?

Really?  Can I use the video out of the PVR350?
Posted by: duncanrinaldo - 2005-02-12, 04:17 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

For anyone familiar with the Hauppauge PVR 350: I am new to the install of PVR and have purchased the PVR250. Now I see the 350 has AV out.
QUESTIONS:
1) Is it true that GB PVR, unlike Win XPMCE (which I have installed now), can use the video out of the PVR350? And would the video quality be any better than getting video through my MSI G force video card? I seem to see from other posts that it can be used Do I understand this correctly?
2)Generally then, is there any advantage to me exchanging my PVR250 card for the PVR350 card (other than the FM capability)?
Thanks to you forum guys. I'm probably older than you all as I am a senior citizen, but not too old to learn new tricks.

  Unhandled Exception with 0.9
Posted by: EwanG - 2005-02-12, 03:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

System is a Compaq 900 MhZ desktop (AMD Athlon) with 384 megs of RAM running WinXP SP2 with a Radeon All-In-Wonder Video Card and a Hauppauge PVR-350 card.

Install of GB-PVR goes ok, but when I run the configuration piece and go to accept the changes I get an Unhandled Exception with a rather "long" list of error messages.

If I then reboot the system I can get GB-PVR to run, but it doesn't respond to the Hauppuage Remote, and won't do TV-Out. Which kind of limits the usefulness.

For grins I Dl'd Sage TV last night and was able to install it and get it working. But I want to use my MediaMVP and have the same interface, so I'd REALLY prefer to get GB-PVR working and make a donation here instead.

Any ideas?

TIA,
Ewan

  extract audio from video
Posted by: stefan - 2005-02-12, 01:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't seem to find the post... Would you guys/gals recommend any free tool to extract audio from the video files? And in such case, which tool? [Image: biggrin.gif] I'd also like to be able to cut the files up into smaller ones, to make a cd out of it.

  OT: Autohotkey
Posted by: surveyor - 2005-02-12, 09:21 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Hi,
I have found Autohotkey very helpful when I control my GB-PVR with my keyboard.

You can define hotkeys for every key-combination you want, especially with the windows-button on the windows-keyboard. Example:
Win+Escape for shutting down the PC
Win+G for starting GB-PVR

etc. etc.
