Hey all..

Just thought I'd get a grasp of what people use, why and how they like it...

I have used the ULEAD that comes with the PVR150, it's okay for a hand holder.. always re-encodes no matter what (found a fix for that) and in general is good for ease of use...

I have discovered VideoReDo for editing, so quick and easy! And it looks like if I can get SageReDo to work it will read the Comskip file and convert it to a cut list ot use in VideoRedo, can't get that working yet.

I have also discovered, thanks to someone posting the link to the bitrate chart on Media Chane's site, DVDlab.. It seems really nice so far.

I'm tried Adobe Premiere but I don't have the time to really learn it and it takes up a lot of resources. Have access to see Encore but don't know much about it..

Seems like I can spend $150 and get VideoRedo and DVDlabs, at least I have 30 days to work with them and see if they are really worth it.. 2 days into and it and they seem good.

I recently switched from SageTV to GBPVR.

I love the GBPVR app. One problem - my recordings at the same kps are not as good.

I used to use SageTV with the 3gb per hour setting. It was a 6000kps constant bitrate. My recordings were DVD quality.

When I use the same settings with GBPVR, it produes a blocky result.

Does anyone know if there are any other settings that I need to look at? My encoding card (PVR350 Hauppauge) has not changed. The only difference is the app I use (GBPVR vs. Sage).

And if anyone is able to produce DVD quality MPEGS with GBPVR, please let me know your settings (CBR vs. VBR and bitrates).

Well in an effort to feed the every present addition I moved my Video volume to a 200GB drive off of an 80GB drive. The drive came up as E: which was wrong I wanted F:, of course GBPVR had already started.

I corrected the drive letter problem, however it would see the DB is not showing I have no shows (recordings) ready to watch, but they are on the drive. I think I read that the DB can be editted with Access.. Which DB?

gbpvr.mdb ??

In a seperate issue, my Comskip is not working anymore either.

When scheduling something through the web interface, I think I've found a bug.

For example, I want to record Las Vegas for the entire season, so I go to search, type "las vegas" and I get a quick listing of when it's on. I click the nearest one (the 14th) and select, Record Season (this channel) and everything seems ok.

HOWEVER, when I go to Manage Recordings in the web interface or Pending recordings in the regular GUI, it doesn't list the 14th as being ready to record. It only lists the 21st (which is the next time it's on). If I go browse the channel on the 14th though, the show is marked red like it's setup to record. Unfortunately, it DOES NOT record, as I found out tonight!! Crap!

If I schedule everything from within the regular GBPVR GUI, everything works ok and both the 14th and 21st get into pending just fine.

Also (an unrelated but odd issue) when I schedule something like this in the regular GUI, the web interface shows the reoccurring event as "manual recording" and not the show name.

As a .net programmer, I know about this ERROR!

So...what's up?

Is there a file I can edit to add local radio stations?
I can use Set Freq to listen to a local FM station, but I can't figure out how to save the setting.

By default 3 stations are in the menu, 91 ZM, Munt FM, and Channel Z.

I'm considering using GB-PVR and currently own a digital terestrial tv-card. What requirements does GB-PVR place on TV cards? Is it simply enough that a WDM-compatible driver be available for the card, or are there other requirements? If development work is required in addition to any existing WDM driver, then what does this entail? - I'm a software developer so may be able to offer assistance.

I understand that the core of GB-PVR is not open source, so I'd be interested to know if the integration of new TV-tuner cards is dependant upon work carried out by GB-PVR's owner (sub?). If it is then what's the process for adding a new card?

BTW, I own an Avermedia DVB-T 771 TV card.

Can someone tell me what the bitrate, bitrate peak and CB or VB settings are for High, Medium, Low, Custom1, Custom2 and LiveTV?

I screwed around so much with the settings that I forget the defaults.

I have been trying to fool around with them because I notice that I am getting slightly less quality (more blockiness) with GBPVR than I used to get with SAGETV.

Now I just want to go back to basics, without reinstalling.

Here are latest probs:
* I played around with codecs and i think i messed something up cause under my music, when i try to play a song, GBPVR hits an error message and forces me to close... would replacing the codecs and having a clean install of the codecs take care of that? What is a good lame mp3 codec site?
* Comskip doesn't seem to work anymore... anyone else have this prob.?

My computer's clock seems to lose quite a lot of time. This can mean that after a few days, I'm missing the start of programmes.

Can anyone recommend a clock synchronisation program which I can run automatically every night ( and so will not require me to press anything)?
