Hi,

I've got 2 PVR-150s in the server. I noticed a few recordings have sections where the playback is very fast and choppy for short stretches of time.

My guess is that the system may have slowed down during recording when I copied a video file to a different computer so I could burn to DVD. I don't remember for sure if I was doing that at the time of the recording. Could this cause the 150 to not be able to save to the disk fast enough?

If that is the likely cause, is there any way to do a file copy to a different computer that goes slower so it does not interfere with the recording?

Don't know if this is possible or if this is a good place to post this wish. Is there a way to have a quick link to show 'your posts' what would show the threads I have posted into w/o having to have tracked.. not that I am using tracked posts as I don't know if it does like other forums I'm on, email storm

Hi FF and rewind does not seem to work on my system it seems it rewinds or fast forwards for a second then starts playing back normally without audio i then have to hit the skip forward or backward button to get audio again. Is this a known issue or something i have set wrong?

I just d'loaded latest DVD2MPEG plugin, as well as the required DVDDecrypter, BeSweet & MPlex(part of Cutterman). I ran CONFIG.exe and entered all the paths for the above utils. Then tried to rip my first DVD. It generated a .MPG file that has the complete video, but audio is silent or missing.

I did d'load the latest of all the above utils. Should I be using older versions?

I have attached the DVD2MPEG.log file. Any ideas?

Hey everyone,

First I wanted to say that I just downloaded and installed .90 on our new PVR and we both love it! Even the wife thinks it's cool!

Anyway, I have a problem. My TV (cheap APEX) has a horrible amount of overscan that produces a quite noticable "zoomed in" effect. It's really easy to tell while browsing the mini guide, you can't even see the left three letters of the descriptions.

Is there a way to tell GBPVR that the size of my screen is smaller than it thinks? I suppose that I could run it in windowed mode, but that would require a lot of messing around (and since I don't have a dedicated mouse and keyboard for the PVR, it's rather hard). Is there a setting in the skin files or something like that?

I may have missed this somewhere, but I haven't seen a description of what MediaMVP actually gives you when used with GB-PVR, for example:

Is the menu system a clone of the current GB-PVR skin?

Does the OSD operate, and how does the OSD quality compare to say a PVR-350?

Are any / all of the plugins available?

Any insight appreciated!

Machine:
Windows 2000 professional, with all service patches and 2.6 mdac.
Uneec Fur Fusion HK7N with Duron 800mhz, 512mb ram, 80gb HDD.
Hauppauge PVR-350.

Problem: Just about got everything setup, and it appears to work pretty well. However sometimes when changing channel, or trying to exit back to the menu from tv mode, the machine will hang. Only option is to reboot.

Any ideas?

Sub recommended I ask for recommendations of the best mpeg2 decoder to download (any free ones?) I have pvr 150 and PVR wintv usb 2. When i watch high action, it is a little choppy. Please help so that i can watch sports on pvr

also, what bitrate should i set it to--and constant or variable?

Setup:
- MediaMVP
- PC running WinXP (XP firewall disabled, no other software firewall)
- Linksys router/DHCP server
- GBPVR server, Hauppauge server disabled.

I hooked up the MediaMVP to the Linksys, on the screen I see:
1) Contacting DHCP Server (for less than a second), then
2) Contacting MediaMVP Bootserver (for a long time), then repeat from step 1.

So looking at the Linksys, I can see that the MVP gets a DHCP address with a lease expire time of 60 seconds, but after about 20 seconds it rejects it and gets a new lease (with the IP address incremented by 1), again 60 second lease time, and again after 20 seconds it gets another IP incremented by 1.

So I stopped the GBPVR MVP server, and started the Hauppauge one. Same thing happened.

Anybody else run into this issue? The Linksys router doesn't block any ports from within the LAN (at least that I could tell on the config webpage of the router), so why can't the MVP get to the bootserver?

I hope someone can answer it! The Hauppauge support pages are not very useful for this...
