I would love to see some sort of integration with Audioscrobbler for music playback.

Audioscrobbler is a plugin for winamp, itunes, foobar2000, wmp, etc that logs all your played tracks to an online database and can provide recommendations based on your listening history. Heres my stats page - http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/phuturetech

Another thing I would love is more complete net radio support - a lot of the stations I listen to are Real Player (especially the BBC) or WMP. Currently I use a plugin for the old MYHTPC software that uses Winamp to play the files back. Winamp then uses plugin called Tara to play back the Real files (with the help of Real Alternative or Real Player).

I'm tying to setup a HTPC and I may have leaped before I looked. I set up a system that runs nicely as a computer but I am having some difficulty setting it up to display on my TV and be controllable from a remote.

I originally purchased a single ATI TV WONDER remote card before I realized that two cards were needed to watch one show and record another.

Ultimately i would Like to be able to watch (and timeshift) one show while recording another, as well as start some external programs (Web browser, DVD player), and schedual recordings, and view programs listings all from one remote and view all of it on a Television set.

Most other sites suggest a Hauppages WIN-PVR 150 remote and WIN-PVR MCE cards and using the GB-PVR software. My question is, with those two cards and this software, can i do what I want?

I have to report some strange nontimeshifted LiveTV behaviors.
First, for me, it doesn't work with the Cyberlink codec(PowerDVD) I had been using.
Second, it doesn't work with overlay.  
Will the NativeUtilities fix this or the Cyberlink (which I think only worked with overlay)?
Third, I have to use deinterlace passthrough, the one Sub has been suggesting.
Fourth, the first time after booting that I try to go into LiveTV, I see a TV screen for a second, then I get a black screen, but I do get audio.  As may others reported, if I press pause, I can get Timeshifted LiveTV.  But more amazingly, if I press back, then start LiveTV again, I indeed get nonTimeshifted LiveTV!  Furthermore, if I I quit GBPVR, then restart it, I can get the nonTimeshifted LiveTV on the first attempt.
(Note: I think if I was in windowed mode it would start the LiveTV right away).
I'v got a compaq with a Pentium 3 866, ATI AIW Pro (Rage PRo) PCI (has hardware MPEG support) and a Hauppauge 150.

OK folks. I'm ready for the 'final' build. I want to install both the 150 and the 350 in this new system. I'm looking for a bit of advise on the order to do things. You should know that I plan on using the 350 a video out to the TV.

First, where should the cards be installed? Does it matter which card card goes where? Which one in what slot?

Next, how and when should the drivers/software be installed? CDs with the cards are: WinTV-PVR-150MCE has version 2.4, the 350 has V2.2A. Should I use drivers from another source? Newer? Should I install one card (which one?), then drivers, then other card, then drivers?

When I install GB-PVR, which card should be chosen as #1 and #2? Does it matter?

Thanks in advance for your help. If all goes well I'll have this purring before the weekend ends.

Has anyone noticed a problem with recording long movies? For some reason I am only able to record about 95 min worth (4.2GB) on High setting. I have lost the endings to several movies. Do I have something setup wrong, or is this a limitation?

- Uses database to stored movie information
- Adds recorded shows from gbpvr database to its own database
- Filenames arent absolute eg "D:\recordings\enterprise_20030102_12001000.mpg" is stored as "enterprise_20030102_12001000.mpg" so can be moved without lossing information.
- Season/Series - If you are have a folder structure like "Show\Season x\" it will recognise this and store the info for "Season x" under "Show\Season x" so no two shows will have the same info for each season.  This also works with "Series". If you are using a language other than English, you can translate "Season" and "Series" in the language.xml file.
- "Scan" can scan every file, and most cases folder, for information from the internet (can cancel this at any time also).
- "IMDB" and "Amazon" Lookup - now returns multiple hits so you can choose which one you wish to use for the movie information.
- "Unseen" - it displays seen videos and unseen videos differently so if you forget which ones you have seen, it reminds you (this works throughout gbpvr, so if you play a video from "recordings" it gets marked seen in "my videos&quot.
- "Episode Lookup" - this will lookup the episode information from tvtome, this requires the showname and episode name to work, so if you have a file called "Enterprise - 2x02 - Carbon Creek.avi" it will get the show name from the begining of the file to the first index of " - " and the episode name from the last index of " - " to the end of the filename, extensions are ignored.  This works around 90-95% of the time, really handy if you download a lot of tv shows.
-"Episode Browse" - Enter the exact name of the show (case sensitive) the click "done" and it will try and find every episode for the entered show name (if the name is correct it will always succeed) then browse done until you find the correct show for that video file hit the ok button and it will download the information (it displays the season and episode number on the left in list view).
- "Remove From DB" - This will remove the selected entry from the database (handy if its the wrong info), access this via the popup menu (this will only appear in the menu if a entry exists).
- Fixed a bug with the master pin number where it was always "0000"
- Posters are also stored in the database, but if you wish to use your own poster art, it will search for the following filenames: For folders: Folder.jpg/Folder.png, for Videos:[filename].jpg/[filename].png/[moviename].jpg/[moviename].png (the movie name is the beginining part of the filename, eg "Enterprise - 2x02 - Carbon Creek.avi" moviename = "Enterprise" or "Enterprise_20021020_08001200.mpg" = "Enterprise"
- Fixed DVDReader/DVDWriter bug where the drive letters where swapped.
- You can now configure which menu buttons to show or hide, by adding/editing a "visible="true" or visible="false" attribute for each menu item in the skin.xml file (if you need help here, just ask).
- Now pressing "ok" on a folder with a sub folder called "VIDEO_TS" will play the folder as a dvd (or play the dvd, if its a dvd ).

Notes
- Since its no longer using .details files this information is no longer read, these files arent checked at all, so just delete them (they are no longer delete aswell, when you delete a file from "my videos" menu).
- Episode lookup requires you have the exact showname and episode name for best results, if you have a two part show eg "(Part 1)" and "(Part 2)" in most cases tv tome just displays it with "(1)" and "(2)" so if you search with the "Part" in the name, chances are it wont be found (the only show i found that didnt follow this was "Stargate Atlantis - The Siege (Part II)".
-Onscreen Keyboard, i changed the skin.xml so it shows "?",",","'" instead of "=","+","_" since these are more useful for the "Episode Lookup".

If you are finding the shows arent being found using "episode lookup" and they have the correct names, let me know and ill see if i can improve it, at the moment it checks about 5 different times until its found.

I have a HP Nova-T (connexant 90002) and can watch live TV but can not record.

When recording a scheduled program all I get is a zero byte mpg file. The recording never ends - I have to kill the scheduler manually.

I can watch live TV but when I turn off the preview checkbox and it tries to write into the TV buffer directory I get the same behaviour - a zero length mpg and recording never stops.

Any ideas?

I would just like to start off by saying that GBPVR is awesome.  I just received my 350 card installed into computer.  Installed GBPVR and it worked straight away.

Everything works great.  I have a question on the remote working only in an active window.  My system will reside next to my tv which is receiving signals from the 350 out.  I have no keyboard or monitor connected.  I use windows remote desktop to get at the computer.

My wish is to have the system stand alone and not have to remote in to use GBPVR.  Can anyone give me some direction on how I can set this up.  Currently, I need to be remoted to the desktop, GBPVR needs to have the active window so the remote control will work.

I tried shutting down the IR software and setting the direct access to the remote in Config but the remote stopped responding.  I have tried just disconecting from the remote desktop which should leave all programs running, but the remote would also stop responding.

I have uninstalled everything.  Downloaded all the lastest drivers from SHSPVR.  Installed all the Hauppauge software with IR software and then reinstalled GBPVR but this does not change anything.

The remote that came with the 350 card is the new style remote.

If anyone can point me a good direction, I would much appreciated.
