I upgraded to 0908 and while it fixes the EPG bug, it seems to have created a new problem: The first time the system tries to record something, audio is recorded fine. The second time, the audio is silent. The file itself has no audio, I checked it on another computer.

Subsequent reboots will clear it for the first program, but not the second.

The ATI eHomeWonder is worked perfectly for me, so I don't think it's the hardware.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled; deleted the MDB files and uninstalled/reinstalled. Is there anything I should try before reformatting with XP?

For the most part, the current method of distributing a plugin involves creating a zip file containing the directory structure relative to the gbpvr directory, and then having the user unzip into the gbpvr directory.

Not that this is an overly complex process, but I thought it might be nice if we had a more formalized way to allow the user to setup a plugin.

I created a console application that is named "setup.exe".  It reads from a manifest file (setup.xml) that contains a sequence of commands that are executed.  Because it's named "setup.exe", a user can run it right from Winzip, which will extract all files in the archive to a temporary directory first.

In the initial version, the only command recognized is "copy" (for copying a file in your distribution to a source destination).

Destination paths can contain directory tokens, so you can copy a file to the GBPVR directory ($INSTALLDIR), plugins directory ($PLUGINSDIR), and active skin directory ($ACTIVESKINDIR) without worrying about creating the directory structure in your zip.

For enhancements, I can see adding an action to insert information into config.xml.  I welcome anyone else to come up with additional actions.

I can also see a GUI front-end created to assist the developer in creating the manifest file, and maybe even creating the entire distribution zip file.

Hi, I just started using GB-PVR and so far I like it a lot. I can't believe it already works with my pvr150 remote and blaster!

Here's my prob: I'm having a video skipping problem in LiveTV when I start timeshifting/livetv pausing using vmr9. And I can't get either overlay or vmr7 to work at all, so I'm stuck.

I have newly installed XP Pro SP2 on Athlon XP2000, 512MB ram, Ati 8500 using PVR-150 with all the latest drivers. I'm using Intervideo Windvd decoder, no deinterlacing or post processing stuff.

The overlay works fine in SageTV, I have no idea what to do. Shouldn't my system be able to do VMR9 smoothly? Are there any settings I should know about? Sagetv seems to do vmr9 just fine....I tried searching the forum, but didn;t come across anything.

Do I need to install Windows Media center (any version) for the windows remote to work with GPR?

After selecting "Blue"-Skin and upgrading to version 0.9 I can't start both the config-utility and gb-pvr itself.

What can I do to use gb-pvr correctly?

Also, which buttons are supposed to work with gbpvr? I have the new 45 buttons silver remote. I tried to change channels but does not work. The live tv guide works, but does not scroll.

I'm considering putting together a website that would be a collection of all the different skins and themes for all the assorted HTPC systems. I would like to design it similar to themexp.org. I plan on having the skins be user submitted and able to be categorized by HTPC and category. With each skin I'm thinking 4-6 screenshots, description, version supported, format (widescreen, fullscreen, both), author, and maybe more. The authors would retain all copyrights to the skins.

May I take the skins already available for GB-PVR as test files while I am desiging the site? I haven't been able to find any portal or gallery applications that can meet my needs so I'll be writing the code from scratch.

What other information do you think I need to include? What other suggestions do you have for such a site?

Hi All, I'm new here.  I live on the East Coast of the United States and have Dish Network for my satellite provider with an older Echostar 3700 receiver.    I recently had done some research into TIVO, Replay TV, and Dish networks PVR.  The monthly fee involved I think is a total rip off as well as the limited functionality of any of these machines.  So I began some research into building my own PVR and came upon this site.  GBPVR seems like a great app.  I can't sink a ton of money into it right now but I have a PC I can dedicate already.  I just want to avoid getting started and realizing I need to buy two or three more things than expected.

What my needs are now is to buld a PVR that will play DVD's, record programming, and control my dish network receiver.

onboard video (no s-video out)

Is this a box that I should even think about getting started with.  If it is am I correct that I need a PVR card and another video card with S-Video out?

I am looking at a Hauppauge PVR-150 with the remote and IR blaster.  I read that the .90 version of GBPVR supports the blaster in this package, has anyone tried it with the hardware I have?  The other thing is the video card..  Will anything that has S-video out work?  I'm not building any sort of gaming rig so I'd hit ebay or whatever to find a cheap card that just works.

This isn't a major issue, I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

I'm finding that with playback of recordings done from digital channels using my Nova-t that the sound and video lose sync. It usually only happens after a FF. It's the playback not the actual recordings. If I stop it, then restart and select Resume, everything is fine. I'm 99.99% this is only happening with the recordings from the Nova - I haven't seen it with any done on the PVR350 or 500.
