I have a PVR 350 capture card. Into the card comes one co-axial cable, which contains two sets of signals.5 free to air channels are used by the internal tuner. The sixth channel is from my cable TV box, and is set up as an external tuner on a fixed channel. Both are set to use Capture device #1

The problem I am having, is that if I schedule a recording on a free to air channel, and also on the cable channel at the same time, no conflict is picked up.

If  I try and record 2 programmes on free to air at the same time, a conflict does show up. Likewise if I try to schedule 2 cable programmes at the same time, the conflict is identified. So it seems to be something to do with the two different recording sources.

As I understood it, this was something that was going to be addressed in this latest release. Assuming that it has been fixed, any ideas why I'm not getting these conflicts showing up ?

I'm have a PVR-150 that I'd like to add to my home server and run GBPVR. The server is a P4 2.4 with over a gig of RAM. Its OS is Windows 2003 Server.

Will GBPVR run on this OS?

Also, is there a minimum requirement for the type of video card? i.e. does it have to be AGP? How much video memory? Must it be DirectX compatible? If I can use a PCI video card (server has no AGP slot) can anyone recommend one (preferably cheap :-))

I am running through some thoughts in my head about building a correlation database like tivo that offer show suggestions based on your recording habits.

I wanted to start a discussion and run some thoughts and questions to my peers.

--What we have--
We have a list of shows a user recorded or plans on recording.
I know for zap2it users we have a database that lists the categories associated with a show.

So we can then associated shows like user X watches Stargate, Stargate Atlantis. We can use categories to build these associations.

Battlestar Galatica is a new show that the user is not recording. It is on the same channel and in the same categories as Stargate. We can then automatically record it.

We can also have logic that determines what actors are in the shows you like and then any show that might have those actors in it.

Now the list of things we would need

1. a database that the different users can connect to and upload their lists of recordings, and future recordings too.

I imaging an exe that would run nightly (or weekly) sending a list of shows you watch. Downloading possible associations.
Filtering out the shows you have said you do not want ever recorded again.

2. Some database structure that would show relationship between shows. (I am not sure how this would be done.)

I am not a db guy. Would we want a table of shows. That would then link to a foreign key to a table for the shows associated with this one.

How many users would have to have both shows before the correlation kicks in? 20%? Maybe the user would specify this.

Strong Correlation 60%
Moderate Correlation 40%
Week Correlation 20%

Any thoughts on how we would do this? Should the correlation be in generes only.

I know that zap2it has actor information and genere information. I would like other users to be able to use this as well. So actors and genere would be optional checks we could do.

My video picture quality seems fuzzy when playing back on GBPVR compared to playing back in Windows Media Player.  I have only a composite out for video to the TV, but it is still sharper in Windows Media Player.

So my question is how can I sharpen the picture when playing back through GB-PVR?  Is this a codec issue?

Hello - hopefully somebody may be able to help - cos this looks like a neat package!  I have downloaded and configured GB-PVR but when I run it I get an error message from the C++ debug library stating "Debug Assertion failed" (see attached).  I'm using a Videoh! adapter through a Windows XP pc.  I'm assuming that there is a simple step I've missed out - I think I have dot net running properly but I don't know how to check it.  I'd really appreciate a response - thanks

I've got a big problem with cutting the mpg-files from GB-PVR (2313).

I can show the files on the GB-PVR-computer and on my notebook, but I can't cut it with

- Nero Vision Express
- Windows Movie Maker
- Ulead Moviemaker

Everytime I try to open such a file in one of these programs the programs crashes at the beginning or nearby 90% and I must kill them with the taskmanager.

Is something wrong with this files? How can I cut the mpg-files to delete commercials and burn it to DVD or (S)VCD?

Anyone working On Any Video plugins. I know reven has the best video plugin around anyone else writng any..

is there a chance to get support for the hauppauge nexus

I'm taking baby steps here, trying to get my setup going. I have now run into another roadblock.

My current setup.
GBPVR 23.13
Hauppage WinTV USB2
GeForce 4 TI
WinXP.
19" CRT monitor and a 51" HDTV in DuelView mode.
(2 sceens, side by side, different resolutions)
The TV is running a 800x600 via svideo.

So, I can use GBPVR to view live TV on the monitor. But as soon as I drag or maximize GBPVR on the TV side, the image/sound freezes (or I get a black screen). GBPVR is still running and is not hung. (I can hit ESC, and it goes back to the menus just file).

WinTV2k works fine on the TV.

I'm sure someone has seen this before.
Any Ideas?

I have a two hour show that I recorded, and then viewed half.
I now want to jump ahead 1 hour and finish viewing. I was hitting the forward button which hops 1 minute with every push, but this eventually crashes and the mvp player reboots.

Is there a better way to fast forward quickly? Why does the mvp crash?
