What is the best (or simplest) way to change channels on my RCA DirectTv box.

I have Hauppauge WinTV USB2, Xcard, and RCA DRD480RE

I look into Girder, but WOW how confusing is that. Please help

  UHF Tuning in NZ
Posted by: hasso - 2005-01-04, 09:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I must be missing something very obvious here. I've got channels TV1,2,3,C4 working nicely (VHF), but would like to get UHF channels as well (Prime, Triangle). I've got a UHF and VHF antenna, but the tuning assistant only seems to want to scan the VHF band.

hi, does anyone have a link to the previous version please. I have checked the previous posts but the links seem dead. I have read that this should help with the delay changing channels.

Thanx

  Consecutive Shows with two tuners
Posted by: rockstar - 2005-01-04, 08:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've been trying out GB-PVR and the automated scheduling of reoccuring shows is very convenient. This will help keep me from missing some syndicated shows that may be shown at varying times. I also use the pre and post padding to ensure recording of the full show.

My problem is for recoding consecutive shows (on the same channel). The second show begins recording at the scheduled time, thus losing the post padding on the first show and losing the pre padding on the second show. I would prefer to combine these into one continuous mpg file that I could later manually edit, but that doesn't seem to be an option unless I use manual scheduling.

In my example, Show 1 runs from 1:00PM-2:00PM and
Show 2 runs from 2:00PM-3:00PM.

So, I added a second tuner. I expected the capture source 1 to record the first show with the pre & post padding and because of the overlap (from 1:58-2:02), the second show would use capture source 2 and maintain it's pre and post padding.

NOPE. Both shows were recorded on the same tuner just as though I had only one tuner. Of course I lost the padding just as before. What gives ?

I tested both tuners and can successfully record simutaneously.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Save channel and TV number on recorded videos

It would be very convenient to also know on which channel the recording took place, is that possible?

  Sloooooow channel switching...
Posted by: NLS - 2005-01-04, 05:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Please help me make SMALLER the UNBELIEVABLE delay of NINE seconds to change a channel!

Also PLEASE stop GBPVR from buffering keystrokes. Especially because of the problem above.

If you try to switch the channel and you don't know of the huge delay and since there is no feedback from the program that you DID press the button, you may start trying various buttons (channel up, channel down, 3, 4, 1, ok... etc.) resulting in a huge row of channel changes EACH taking 9 seconds... resulting in "wife-factor" going sub-zero (no pun intended)...

  video/tv offset
Posted by: reven - 2005-01-04, 01:29 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

im not sure how easy this would be to do, but tv often has black bars around it, the sides and top/bottom. im using the 350 output and theres only so much i can do in the config file to get rid of these imperfections until the osd begins to dissapear (the blue button information is the worst, the bottom line). so my wish is to have a seperate "bounds" settings for the video, where you can configure, xpos, ypos, width, height. but also keep the 350 osd display settings seperate. also shove the blue/green info bars into the config file so can adjust where they are.

sub is this easy? or to annoying to bother with, for at least awhile?

  System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs e tostring
Posted by: reven - 2005-01-04, 11:58 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

im trying to make the onscreen keyboard act with a real keyboard, so user types in a word, the word appears etc. got letters done fine, but using the shift+ specialcharacter, like the shift? which is "/" returns some odd results, often appearing as 3/4 or 1/2 etc.
ive tried using
e.keycode.tostring
e.keyvalue
e.keydata
and always with odd results.
in java i remember this being a lot easier.

anyone know the stupid error im doing?

Problems with new 45 key Remote from Hauppauge
Posted by: iceman330 - 2005-01-04, 10:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

first i will say GB-PVR is a really nice PVR Soft. Is now really fine working with the 22301 drivers. (TV-Out with PVR 350)

But i don´t know why the direct access to Hauppauges new 45 key remote controll don´t work. With IR32 running there are no problems, all keys are working.

I study this and other boards the last week, but didn´t find a solution of my problem. The [GB-PVR] data is in the irremote.ini

Perhaps i must edit the INI, because i have the newest version???

I´m sorry of the double posts, but i couldn´t find a solution.

Greetings from Germany

  always on top
Posted by: reven - 2005-01-04, 10:49 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

not sure how easy (well hard, is more likely) but it would be nice if you force gbpvr to always be on top. this will ensure that plugins using external programs, or popup windows (norton etc) are beneath the gbpvr window so remotes always work.

two ways of turning this on/off
1) check box in config app (default setting)
2) rightclicking gbpvr in the taskbar, and changing it (resets to default in config app one next restart, so if you need to use windows normally you can).

low priority, but nice to have feature.
