im sure this is on your list sub, just want to make sure. when you exit live tv (to search the full guide or something) it would be nice if it kept recording that channel (well recording to disk) so you could rewind it if you return to it after the ads have stopped etc. also when the show finished perhaps keep recording that channel aswell.

best thing would probably be if you press menu this was done, but if you press stop, it stops recording. or something like that, ill leave the logic up to you.

I purchased the above card and have not been able to install it on Windows 2000 or XP home. The driver either locks up the PC on driver installation (XP) or on reboot (W2000).
I see some people have got the PVR 150MCE working but Hauppauge tech support insist that it will not work with W2000 or XP home, only XP MCE ?
I have tried all the drivers (both PVR 150MCE and PVR 150) from the Hauppauge and the shspvr websites.

I thought that this maybe an issue with the chipset that I had on the motherboard (SIS with AMD proc) so I tried the PVR 150MCE card in two different (Intel chipset , Celeron) systems with the same problems. I see Hauppauge have released several different drivers for the PVR 150MCE card.
Are there versions of this card that do not run on W2000 or XP ?

I'm planning to return the PVR 150MCE card to the supplier but I'll need to order another TV card for GB-PVR. Is the Leadtek PVR2000 (Leadtek Winfast PVR 2000 Hardware MPEG II DVD Encoder) card fully supported by GB-PVR ?
I ask this becuase I'd like the FM radio support and the PVR350 card are much more expensive.

I am trying to nail down what video Card I should use for SVideo out.
I am looking at an Nforce 2 MB with integrated Geforce 4 mx with Svideo out, Or an Ati 9550 SE 128 MB with DVI, Svideo.

Which would be best for Video Quality. I am not a 3d Gamer so that is not important.

The ATI supports DirectX 9 is that an issue for GB-PVR?

Instead of just the mini-guide, is it feasable to have the full tv-guide overlayed on your currently tv program that you are watching.

If that is not possible-- how about keep the sound going while you search through the guide.

I like to listen to cable news while I'm searching for something better to watch.

Hmmm... is the application supposed to use that much memory when idle, i.e. only the menu running ?

Update: I disabled Xrecord-plugin, and now it's using 45mb.. quite a difference there yeah...

But, and a big but this...
I see that the app doesn't return used memory..
So, from start gbpvr uses around 45 mb, and after browsing the menus a couple of times the usage is up at 70 mb and raising...

Not a grave problem, i have 512mb ram available, but still...

Not sure if this is available, or possible.

I think GBPVR would be a great medium for DAB playback.

The Psion Wavefinder produces MP2 streams via http links so would it be possible to play these ?

Presently use either winamp or slimserver to play it but would be v.cool to play DAB collection from Kitchen TV.

Two things:

Version 0.64 is available now. Wiki page has 0.62 available for download. Can get it from here.

It states to unziip the two files into the gbpvr directory. However there are 3 files now. comskip.dictionary (apparently for use with closed captioning detection method).

The wiki is very useful!

My questions are:

1. How long does it usually take to change channels in LiveTV mode. (mine takes 3 or 4 sec).

2. Will I gain any big advantage if I upgrade my processor or ram? Currently it is working fine, but if it will be dramatically faster then I will look at upgrading.

3. Is there a description of what the buttons on the Hauppauge remote do by default? There are 4 colored buttons, but I haven't quite figured out what all 4 do.

I was watching live TV on channel 4 last night and a scheduled recording was set to occur on channel 9.  At the specified time my live TV froze, turned wacky colors and seemed to play two frames of video over and over.  This was a bit annoying BUT the recording on channel 9 had stolen the tuner and so its no suprise...I'm glad the recording did not fail so while this was a bit strange, the outcome was exactly what I wanted (I was doing this as a test so was anticipating something unusual happening).

Is this the designed behavior?  For me it was no big deal, but if my wife encounters this she'll probably throw up her hands and say its broken.  Is it possible to have a nice message come up explaining what is happening and giving the user the option to cancel the recording and continue watching live TV or switching over to the recording channel (maybe 1 minute before the recording is supposed to go...you have 60 seconds to make a decision otherwise it boots you out to the main menu and the recording begins)?

Another question...once I returned to the menu, went to recordings and selected the currently recording show the OSD was different than I expected.  I got a blue bar at the bottom of my screen that showed a total length of just a few minutes and the blue bar quickly filled up the whole 3 minute space and stayed that way to the end of the show.  What does that mean?  I guess I was expecting OSD just like when I'm watching liveTV and hit the blue button...the graph at the top of the screen showing some red (part of the show that has not been recorded), green (the part that has been recorded/watched), black (the part of the show remaining) and a white arrow showing where in there I am.

Some clarification on the different OSDs I see would be helpful...thanks!!  Sorry if this was supposed to belong somewhere else (wishlist?).

I had a recording scheduled for 3 am last night. When I woke up this morning I found out that it only recorded slightly over 5 min of footage. I checked free HD space and there was more than enough to hold the recording. Is there any place I can look to see what might have happened?
