What about support for the "old" WinTV PVR?
Posted by: Henuba - 2004-12-09, 11:26 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Hello,

will there be any support for the older WinTV PVR from Hauppauge in the near future?

Thanks,

Hendrik

  Difference between MVP:GB-PVR & PC:GB-PVR
Posted by: thor - 2004-12-09, 09:17 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

Hi all,

Thanks to Sub for excellent effort, which I have been evaluating for the last week.
After a bit bad start and complete reinstall of windows things have started to work ok now.

Few questions though:

I have noticed some difference on the PC version to the MPV, like:

1 - The mini guide works on PC but not on MVP along with all other overlays, should it work on MVP

2 - The resume option on the MVP doesn't prompt for resume or not, it goes to pause mode and if pressing the 'OK' button it resumes but if I don't want to resume, what button do I press and should there be a prompt?

3 - Is there any other obvious differences between the PC vs MVP software.

4 - is it normal to have to restart the GB-PVR-MPV software regularly, and if so, how often should I expect to have to restart it.

Thanks in advance for your effort in answering this questions.

  ctrl-right does not ffwd correctly
Posted by: dazz - 2004-12-09, 08:51 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

If I hit <ctrl>-right the video should jump ahead by a minute. Sometimes it jumps back by a few minutes instead, then repeated presses go forward minute by minute after the initial skip backwards. Have you ever seen or heard of this?

  Don't let it hibernate!!
Posted by: dazz - 2004-12-09, 08:40 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I often don't know when GBPVR is recording. If I try to hibernate (or power down) when it is recording, I want GBPVR to tell me "I am recording blah. Do you really want to hibernate?" and I will always say "no!". As it is I unknowingly lost an important recording. [Image: rock.gif]

Some TV recordings don't show time correctly
Posted by: dazz - 2004-12-09, 08:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I am experiencing problems with the time in GBPVR.

I converted a .dvr-ms recording to mpeg (MPEG2). It is a 6.5 hour recording, but GBPVR says it is 13 hours!

In another show that was recorded with GBPVR, the time does not move at all (Only 20 minutes of an hour long show were recorded. I don't know what happened. Maybe I accidentally hibernated as it was recording.)

  Bookmarks
Posted by: dazz - 2004-12-09, 08:31 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (12)

If I am watching a many hours long show and in the middle stop watching, it is quite difficult to find the right spot to resume watching later on. Bookmarks are an extremely crucial aspect missing from GBPVR, it seems to me.

  Not recording series
Posted by: dazz - 2004-12-09, 08:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I don't know what happened but even though a show is set for "record series", it has stopped recording them. There are none of the shows listed in "pending" even though they are listed in the TV Guide data. It used to work. Any ideas?

  Forum links stops working
Posted by: blader_se - 2004-12-09, 07:00 AM - Forum: Forum Issues & Documentation - Replies (1)

I have seen that links on the wiki to the forum breaks.
(eg http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin....8;st=0)

Is there an automatic deletion of old threads, or was it just the links I happened to try that have been removed manually?

  Support for new Hauppauge Remote
Posted by: jquinlan - 2004-12-09, 02:47 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Sub, do you think you will be adding support for the new Hauppauge Remote? It looks like you could really expand the functions without the current button confusion. The MVP could really benifit from this also, but the updated dongle.bin is still beta.
