  Caller ID Plugin
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-12-11, 04:21 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

It will be a few weeks before gbpvr is ready for this plugin.  Not sure what will be going on with me then, so I will release what I have now.  It seems to work when gbpvr is on the main menu, except that it won't erase until you do something on the menu.  Trying it on other screens is at your own risk (I have seen gbpvr hang) for now.  The config screen is coded and built in, but for now gbpvr won't show this plugin in the plugin list, so you can't invoke it.  The config screen only allows you to change the port number, so it not a big deal.

See the post in the announcements forum for how to setup the YAC server.

Note that if the DLL exists in the plugin directory it will be active.  So once you are done testing it out, I would recommend removing it from the plugin directory.

This message has the attachment for the dll.

  version number
Posted by: fini - 2004-12-11, 04:09 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I wasn't really sure where to put this, but anyway...

I think the GB-PVR version number should be changed - its seems silly that we have a stable release with many features and its still only version 0.23xx. When I first saw GB-PVR I almost didn't download it because I thought it would be sooo buggy - which its not. I'm not suggesting a 1.0 anytime soon, but I see where GB-PVR's at now at atleast a 0.6.. anyone else agree?

I just found my old mpeg2 decoder card made by Sigma Designs. The chip is the EM8300. Any chance GBPVR can use the decoder for output?

  LCARS Skin
Posted by: chasef - 2004-12-11, 12:41 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (67)

Okay, here's my first skin. Obviously, this is an LCARS layout. I'll be updating this skin as time goes by. The functions that I don't use I've still edited so they should match up but if you find a problem, lemme know and I'll see what I can do. Font file to go in your Windows\Fonts dir and the language.xml file to go in your GB-PVR dir are included.
NOTE: Some of the functions that I haven't used for a long time (or ever) have been dropped from my skin. If you find you do like using my skin and really want whatever feature back, lemme know and I'll see what I can do.

Zip file updated: July 23rd, 2005, 19:15 EDT

Update: Ready for v0.93.2 that is en route.

  LCARS Skin
Posted by: chasef - 2004-12-10, 09:51 PM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Okay, here's my first skin.  LCARS layout (though not strictly adhereing to LCARS standards - because I'm lazy [Image: tounge.gif]).  I'm not an XML guru and as such I might not be able to fix problems but I'm open to comments, suggestions, etc. nonetheless. The functions that I don't use I've still edited so they should match up but if you find a problem, lemme know and I'll see what I can do.  Font file to go in your Windows\Fonts dir and the language.xml file to go in your GB-PVR dir are included.

  Recording to a fileserver
Posted by: scooby_doo - 2004-12-10, 06:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

I already have a 'fileserver' PC hidden in the house with a couple hundred GBs of storage. I wondering how well it would work to have the GB-PVR system save the data to the network drive. Has anyone tried this for good or bad? Realistically the throughput shouldn't be that bad, it would be more the latency. I have evertyhing running 100MB full duplex.

ffwd rwnd problems in scheduled recording
Posted by: huckw - 2004-12-10, 05:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am kind of reposting this issue as I had it buried in another post...but I am baffled by it.  I assume its always user error but I can't figure out what I could be doing wrong.  If I start to watch a scheduled recording BEFORE its completed the recording, ffwd (which is supposed to jump 10 secs) moves several minutes and skip (which is supposed to jump 30 seconds) moves 10s of minutes!!  The replay and rwnd buttons not only do not go backwards but seem to jump forward by large amounts as well.

All seems ok if I let the recording finish before I start watching it.  Not sure what happens if watching live TV and pause for awhile and get behind.  I will try that out tonight.

Anyone else see this...can you please shed some light on what I am doing wrong?

  C Band channel/Sat channel changing
Posted by: cummings66 - 2004-12-10, 04:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Has anybody managed to get the SAT/Channel on a GI 650 or any GI C Band sat system to change?

It's tougher because you have to maybe change sats, then wait so long and change channels, not to mention I haven't come across anything saying how to do that.

If you have, what did you use and how did you do it?
