  GBPVR Web Admin
Posted by: KingArgyle - 2004-11-16, 07:23 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

I'm starting a new thread, for covering changes to the GBPVR web Admin. Attached is a sample screen mockup for an Advanced Episode Search function. It will allow for searching by a Phrase or Keyword in either Episode Title, or Description. Items that are already scheduled to be recorded will show up with a red background.

I don't have a huge amount of time to run the Web Admin changes, but figured at least I'd get the thread started. I personally don't plan on adding too much to the web admin, as the episode guide, manager, and the missing search/scheduling function are all I think are needed.

Anyway, feel free to add to this thread, any related projects you have going. Maybe somebody that has enough free time could eventually combine efforts to put a consistent look and feel to everything.

More info once I get the search/scheduler working.

Record episodes in timeslot not working
Posted by: chasef - 2004-11-16, 06:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Sub,
I don't know if it's limited to me or what but apparently the "record all episodes in this timeslot on this channel" record option still just records everything of that particular show on that particular channel, regardless of timeslot.

Does this product work with GBPVR. It has an Conexant Mpeg 2 encoder, but I am not sure of the chip model number.

  USB-UIRT Channel 3/4 problems
Posted by: thedocwat - 2004-11-16, 04:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been discussed -- I couldn't find anything on previous threads... I just recieved and installed my new USB-UIRT today (with the latest and greatest drivers from the usbuirt.com web site). I've been able to run GB-PVR with no problems using the analog cable (Adelphia in the US). I've made the appropriate changes to the config in GB-PVR, including successfully programming the remote for my Adelphia provided Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3100 digital cable box. Here's where it gets strange... channel 3 works great. channel 4 only has audio, and static for video. When I change to say channel 35 (or any other channel for that matter), I get the GB-PVR blue mini-menu that pops up with the channel name/number/logo/description/etc, but no video (only static) and no audio. The USB-UIRT blaster looks like it successfully changed the channel (i.e. the Explorer 3100 changed from "03" to "35" on it's channel display). Then, when I re-enter channel 3 from the static on 35 I then briefly see and hear what should have been displaying on channel 35, before the device switches back to channel 3. I have tried every various permutation of 3 digit numbers, padding zeros, sending ENTER, etc. on the GB-PVR config options, to no avail. Does anyone out there have any ideas/suggestions of what else I could try?

Many thanks,
thedocwat

  ScheduledRecording Types
Posted by: jorm - 2004-11-16, 12:03 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

I am trying to write my own search guide that allows a virtual keyboard to be used for easy searching.

I am now trying to schedule a recording. I am trying to figure out the difference between Record Season (all episodes on this channel) and Record Season (this timeslot and channel).

The database shows them both as type 5. Any ideas how to note one as only this timeslot?

The other question is there are other settings in there.
Weekday, Weekly, Weekend_days. Can those be used if I rewrite the schedule recording page?

Probably a question to sub.

  Manual writing into gbpvr.mdb
Posted by: tschoo - 2004-11-15, 11:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi,

I consider to write scheduled recordings directly into the gbpvr.mdb file. Has anybody done this already?

How can I inform the recording service that the contents of the .mdb file has changed?

Thanks for your help in advance
-tschoo

PS.: The reason for wanting to write directly to the gbpvr.mdb file is that I want to use TV-Browser for selecting the shows. I live in Austria and have only rather bad xmltv data available - TV-Browser contains much better data.

  live tv in the background
Posted by: reven - 2004-11-15, 04:48 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

i dont know if this has already been discussed, but i was just looking over mediaportal screenshots and saw a nice one of live tv (or any video i presume) that replaced the background image in the menus. and was thinking this could be done in gbpvr, not a small window (well, eventually hopefully aswell) but just if say you press menu on the remote when watching live tv or a recording or something, it would bring up the menus and just instead of drawing the background image it would just draw the foreground images and the playing video will be under it. and if you hit stop, that kills the video and brings you back to the menu.

only one thing im not sure about, do plugins draw the background image themselves or does gbpvr do this.  if its the former plugins would have to be rewritten (small amount of code thou).

well thats my wish for the day. what do you guys think?

  Season's pass
Posted by: applecran - 2004-11-15, 08:46 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

The number 1 feature I'm looking for in a PVR is the ability to record every episode of a specific show on any chanel, any time.

For instace. Record every single Simpsons' episodes, but no duplicates.

I'm guessing there are issues with the xml data as I have only found 2 products that do this, and one that works.

Sagetv does this perfectly, meediaportal says it does it, but there are so many other issues with that software that I could not test it.

I like GBPVR best, and this feature would be awesome. As would a search for the recording.

Could this be done in a plugin? If so I may, look into making the plugin.

Thanks!
