  Support for .my files
Posted by: blader_se - 2004-11-17, 06:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Going through the old documentation, I saw that GB-PVR once supported .my (myhtpc) files. These are very similar to the .dat files the XRecord exports.
I tried, but could not see if/how any support was still there.

So, my question is does GB-PVR still support .my files, and if so, how is that support?

  AverMedia M150 remote and GB-PVR
Posted by: dazz - 2004-11-17, 05:47 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I've been thinking of buying the remote for the AverMedia M150 card. Does anyone know if it will work with GB-PVR? Thanks.

  AverMedia M150 w/out MCE ?!?
Posted by: dazz - 2004-11-17, 05:29 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (11)

I bought the AverMedia M150 and have been using it with MCE. The driver page on the AverMedia website says it is ONLY good with MCE. Is it true that I can install that driver on regular old Windows XP Pro and it will work with GB-PVR? This is amazing if true, the answer to what I have been searching for, and definitely worth a donation!  [Image: laugh.gif]

  recording playback gives black screen
Posted by: arbatax - 2004-11-17, 04:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I have just installed GB-PVR (v0.22.7) and I am trying to figure out all the features of this brilliant program.

I managed to make a live recording, which I can play back without problems in Media Player 9. However, when I try to play it back in GB-PVR I only get to see half a second of the video, which then turns black, while the audio continues playback.

My playback configuration:
video decoder: InterVideo
audio decoder InterVideo
Audio renderer: DirectSound
I have to use VMR7 because my system is not compatible with VMR9. If I choose Overlay, the screen gets stuck in Recordings > Play and I can only hear the audio.

my system:
Athlon XP 2100
Hauppauge PVR150
on-board video (SIS 630/730)

Thanks for any help!

  auto-view
Posted by: fini - 2004-11-17, 04:29 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Would it be possible to add an auto-view option? By this I mean that, instead of recording a program you could choose for GB-PVR to automatically change to that channel when the program starts so you don't forget about it (in the same way Sky does). If GB-PVR was not running at the time it could launch GB-PVR and go straight to live tv and that channel.

The reason I'd like this is so I could have it automatically turn on the radio some days during the week and the TV at a different time on different days of the week. I realise I could use windows scheduler to schedule the Hauppauge TV and/or radio programs to load at specific times etc., but I like using GB-PVR.

  record the radio
Posted by: fini - 2004-11-17, 04:25 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

This must have been brought up before, but I did a quick search for it and couldn't find it.

Surely it wouldn't be too hard to allow GB-PVR to record the radio? If it's not possible to have an EPG for the radio (as in nobody supplies the data) then you could allow the user to just pick timeslots to record? I know that the hauppauge radio app doesn't allow recording either which implies that there might be something hard to it, but I can't see how there is,,, even if it has to be saved as a movie file with just a blank screen...

  Max Recordings per show development
Posted by: jorm - 2004-11-17, 04:12 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

In the release PostUpdateEPG.bat will be executed after the EPG update occurs.

I am going to write an executable that can be placed in the batch file that will have a supporting xml file of the form.

<settings>
<show name="Seaseme Street" keep="5"/>
</settings>

Will read gbpvr path from registry, will load config.xml and get the recording path.

We will then walk though each show in the recording path and list the mpegs. Sort them. Then it will delete the oldest ones till the count is correct.

Thoughts?

  MiniGuide Browsing Enhancement
Posted by: MicroSark - 2004-11-17, 03:27 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

I don't know if this has been suggested before, or even if remotely possible so apologies in advance if needed.

When browsing the miniguide (green button on Hauppauge remote), you can advance through the channels using the up/down buttons. How about also being able to look forward and back through the timeslots using the left/right buttons (temporarily disabling the volume control obviously). This way, you could also see not just what is on now but also what is on next in any given channel.

Alternatively, you could simply show 'now' and 'next' (program titles only, no description) - this would provide similar functionality to that of the Sky Digital box.

It would also be nice to be able to press OK at a program slot shown in the miniguide and have the exit/quick/record/cancel dialog appear, without interrupting the live tv view.

Again, apologies if this has been mentioned before or isn't possible.

  Tuning channels
Posted by: phil - 2004-11-17, 03:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

Hi
I an in the UK connected to NTL cable network my problem is that GBPVR will not tune to the lower frequency cable channels, is there a way to manually tune or a file that can be edited.
The reason I ask this is that a channel Sky one is transmitted unscrambled but I can't tune to this.
Wintv2000 picks it up ok on channel 5 but it’s not a patch on GBPVR

  questions about playback window
Posted by: adamf - 2004-11-17, 02:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Hi,

Been trying to use GB-PVR for a while and its working out quite well. A great piece of programming.

I had 2 questions:

1. Every time I playback a recorded movie it will play in a "windowed" mode with the movie playing in a window with the taskbar showing. The rest of the program works as it should, taking over the entire screen (as I set this in the setup application) so you cannot see the taskbar, etc. The taskbar returns only when I playback a recorded file (or any file with the player). Is there any way to fix this so that it plays full screen? Can I have playback of all files by an external player like Zoom Player? Suggestions?

2. I have set recording quality to low, but still find a 1 hr program takes up 1.8 gigs. Is there a way to reduce the file size further or further customize the capture size?

I am running the latest version (0.22 I believe).

Again, great product! I look forward to future updates.

Thanks.

-Adam
