I had to replace my motherboard mounted sound because line-in stopped working. My new PCI card has VIA 1723 chip. It shows in Windows as "Envy 24 Family Audio Controller". It works fine except now NPVR has no sound on live TV or recording playback. If I play an NPVR recording in VLC, it DOES have sound. I have a Hauppauge Colossus. The Hauppauge "WinTV8" app and "Hauppauge Capture" both have sound with no issues. I'm using SPDIF to NPVR for sound. I've fiddled with decoders in NPVR but no dice. My old settings worked with the previous sound "card" (Realtek). I don't think I did anything else that should affect sound. Windows 10 Pro 1809, NPVR 4.2.4 (190307). One other thing: I have an Nvidia based video card connected to a TV. If I select the "NVIDA High Definition Audio" for playback, then I get sound from NPVR. Seems there's possibly some issue with this sound card, but only with NPVR. Any ideas?
In preparation for "cutting the cord", i've tried repeatedly to do a new scan of the OTA channels. What I get is the old list of "cable scanned" channels instead.
The tuner is Ceton DRI with 4 channels that has worked wonderfully with cable channels for years. Now, I want to try broadcast channels, but no dice. It keeps returning the 855 channels that it last scanned from cable.
I'm getting an appcrash every time I manually update the EPG. Looking at NPVR.log it happens at a different point each time. Sometimes the last line is a 'Got nnn EPG Events', other times something in the process of saving that, or preparing to scan another frequency. It seems random in other words.
Making it do an auto update and Looking at the NRecord.log it works for a few seconds before crashing NDigitalHost, which then gets restarted to scan another mux.
In both cases it sometimes gets itself into a situation after a crash where while live tv still works fine but it is unable to open the capture device to scan channels or update the EPG, instead failing with "Failed to start device" in the npvr or ndigitalhost log. This seems to take a Windows restart to fix.
Running version 4.2.4 (190307) on Windows 7
Attached is logs showing an automatic EPG Update. NDigitalHost.exe crashed twice, the Windows application log events are included. A Subsequent attempt to manually update the EPG shows the "Failed to start device" problem occured.
I recently changed my IPTV provider and am having a problem recording recurring recordings. It looks to me as if NPVR is setting up a recording for the total minutes of the recurring episodes rather than the minutes of a single episode. And, it will only record about half of an individual episode. Here is the m3u info I was provided and used in NPVR (properly redacted, of course):
I'd like to change the order of the recordings popup menu. For example, put Resume first as that is the most frequent action I use. I haven't found any posts regarding customizing this menu.
While I'm at it, is there a setting that when I press Play on a recording, it will ask if instead I want to resume a recording I have previously started? (It's annoying to press play and wind up at the beginning again.)
Hello everyone,
Can someone tell me where the XMLTV list from my IPTV provider gets dropped to within NextPVR? In the past I have been able to edit the channel name without affecting the mapping info. For some reason in 4.2.4 I am not able to do this.
Thank you,
Bruce
I've been having an issue as of late, where no matter where I am, wired or wireless, I always seem to have some sort of live TV buffering issue with NextPVR outside of my home network where channels will load, but then just constantly buffer. This is happening in both Kodi and VLC, so this is why I think it's on the backend and not so much the software I have been using for viewing.
I've attached my logs as well. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
