  pvr 350 + p7000
Posted by: reven - 2004-10-28, 08:54 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

sorry for poor topic title couldnt think of one.
anyway i was thinking about getting a 2nd decoder (play@p7000 or whatever its called), and i was wondering if the problems with the pvr 350 would be solved if i used the p7000 as my primary input but still used the 350 as output?

like would it solve (or well help) the screen lockups etc?

also is this possible to setup the p7000 as primary and 350 as secondary using the tvout of the 350?

also would i be able to rewind and fastfoward with the p7000? since its not yet possible with the 350?

  mini guide show program info
Posted by: reven - 2004-10-28, 08:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

not sure if this is a wish or support, but is it possible to view the show info (not just name + time) in the mini guide for a different channel? like how the blue button shows the shows description?

if not, sub are you going to implement this when you make it possible to go forward in time in the mini guide (thats if you bother doing that aswell [Image: smile.gif])

  IEventNotification for the bads
Posted by: tybreizh29 - 2004-10-28, 07:44 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (10)

Hi,
I'm trying to develop a LCD plugin (LIS VL Sytem display), I did the whole display part (in Delphi, as it's my world), but now I trying to get the events working. For that, I modified the Comics Plugin to add event notifications, but after many tries (It's my third day in C#) I don't realy know what to modify (I read other threads about notifications, but it does not help me at all). I try to write a string when receiving events (I play a net radio or a mp3 file in music library for that).
Thanks for showing me the good way.

  Cannot auto start GB-PVR MediaMVP Server
Posted by: mvgolfclub - 2004-10-28, 04:15 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

I've downloaded the latest download file "GBPVR0227", but I'm unable to get the server to auto start as a background service. If I launch the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server from the Start Menu everything works fine.I'm using version 2.2 of Media MVP. I would like for the Server to be available at startup.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Matt

  GBPVR.exe-native.log fills up the entire disk
Posted by: Stimpy - 2004-10-28, 03:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Just when I thought I had everything working, I find that I have the same logging problem as described here:
http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin....;t=1108

Basically the log fills up the entire hard drive and there is nothing I can do about it. The log file is locked while GBPVR is running, so I can't schedule a task to delete it. I tried all three logging modes in the config program "error" "info" and "debug" but this doesn't change anything. It just keeps filling up with
21:38:52.765 VERBOSE Pvr350Helper::getEventCode()
21:38:52.765 VERBOSE Pvr350Helper::getEventCode()
21:38:52.781 VERBOSE Pvr350Helper::getEventCode()
21:38:52.796 VERBOSE Pvr350Helper::getEventCode()
21:38:52.796 VERBOSE Pvr350Helper::getEventCode()
21:38:52.812 VERBOSE Pvr350Helper::getEventCode()
21:38:52.828 VERBOSE Pvr350Helper::getEventCode()
for ever and ever and ever.

I thought I found a workaround for this: go into the FM radio menu, pick a station, listen to it for a few seconds, and then press the stop button. This stops the logging, but it causes a huge memory leak that just keeps growing and growing until it hits 2GB and the whole system grinds to a halt. So much for that idea. [Image: sad.gif]

I'm using a PVR-350 with TV output enabled, GBPVR version 0.22 dated 2004-10-16 and the drivers that I have came from shspvr.com in the package called hcw1_8_22170_pp2.zip
The driver versions are as follows:
hcwpvrp2.sys 1.18.21.22168
hcwconv.ax 1.17.390.21346
hcwecp.ax 1.2.21348
hcwprp2.ax 1.17.250.21153
hcwutl32.dll 3.8.22159
iyuv_32.dll v2.00.00.00
mch263.drv 4.4.3385
msyuv.dll 5.3.0000000.900
tsbyuv.dll 1.0.5
vfwwdm32.dll 5.00.2134.1

Is there anything at all that I can do to fix this? Newer drivers? Older drivers? Registry settings?? Anything?? Help!

  task.png
Posted by: fini - 2004-10-27, 11:41 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (10)

Currently only png images can be used for the images on the main menu. Could you possibly allow for the use of gif's aswell - so the program looked for task.png and, if it couldn't be found then looked for task.gif. The reason I'd like this change is so I can use animated gif's in a skin. When I talk about animated gif's I'm talking high quality - not the shabby little things you see on some noobish sites. Ideas include the image for live tv having a tv with static in the background slowly staticing away. etc..

I realise there is MNP and APNG, but neither of these are supported well at all so don't think that would be a good way to go and that's why I'm asking for gif instead of that. The use of flash would also be good, but, I presume, harder from a coding point of view (I only know VB so that really is just a guess).

  Dual Cable Source
Posted by: kverde - 2004-10-27, 09:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm new at this, but I've had great success getting GB-PVR working. My question is, in my apartment, there are two cable sources--two phyiscal cables. One is cable source "A" channels and the other is "B". What is the best way to view all of my channels?

My guess is a second pvr-250 will be necessary... Am I correct? I'm trying to keep costs down.

  Power control
Posted by: goosey - 2004-10-27, 08:40 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I wish that the exit button would open up a screen/dialog that allows you to either "Exit" the program, OR perform one of the power options that are currently provided by the power plugin.

For an HTPC, it seems to me that you would want to have a quick and easy way to suspend it when you leave the room for an extended period of time.

  More flexible skinning capabilities
Posted by: goosey - 2004-10-27, 08:18 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (30)

I think that the whole skinning system needs a bit of an overhaul.

I am not sure if this will make it incompatible with the MVP etc, but when you look at all the few skins that have been made, they are either very simple and boring (sorry) or have broken/misaligned fonts/parts.

I refer to the skins in version .227 and have also tried the skins ocean_wave and scan.

I don't fully understand how the skinning works, but it seems that skinmakers are always saying that something doesn't work and they can't sort it out with whats allowed through the core functionality of GBPVR.

I WOULD LIKE to make a skin - but its a bit offputting to know that the only real creativity that can be applied is in the background graphic..... ?

I don't mean to belittle the efforts of all skinmakers, but I believe the skin and skin functionality are critical to the success of these programs.

  Error: No connection could be made ...
Posted by: Bebop - 2004-10-27, 06:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I installed v0.22.7 last night and rebooted today. After scheduling two programs, both were "Record once", "Low quality", I get an error. It occurs after pressing "OK".

The message says, "Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it", and there is an "OK" button.

Is this a known problem? Did I do something wrong?
