  Unwanted shutdown after recording
Posted by: etienne74 - 2004-10-28, 08:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

I got this weird problem. My PC (Asus Pundit-R and XP sp2) hibernates after 10 minutes (which I set) after the recording is finished eventhough I am still watching a recorded show.
Obviously GBPVR doesn't send a signal to keep the pc busy when watching a recorded show and recording mode is already on. When watching something without something being recorded works fine.

Any suggestions? Or is this a bug to be resolved in a future release?

Thanks,
Etienne

All reoccuring recording shown as "all shows"
Posted by: blader_se - 2004-10-28, 07:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

In the reoccuring recordings list, all entries are shown as "Recording all showings" regardless if they where specified as "this timeslot only" or not.

Is this intentionally?

  Time/Channel display
Posted by: anedjf - 2004-10-28, 04:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

When I use the skip feature while playing back a recording, a window shows up that shows the current playback time as well as the total show time.

Is there a way to get this to display without using the skip feature? I'd just like to know how far through the programme I am.

Thanks,
anedjf

  Net Radio & Weather Plugins
Posted by: skidoo - 2004-10-28, 04:26 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (9)

Hi,

I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I am asking questions that to everyone else is blooming obvious. I have just purchased a MediaMVP and have started using GB-PVR because it has a nicer interface, but I have a couple of issues.

1. Weather Plugin. I cannot seem to get the Weather plugin working, it says there is an error with the date/time string. I cannot find how I can specify a date within the config app.

2. Net Radio. How do I add Net Radio stations? I managed this with the Hauppage software but I notice the file format of the radio stations with GB-PVR is "pls" instead of "mvp".

Thanks in advance for your help,

regards,

When i click the last continue before the installation should begin i get the error 1720. There is a problem with this windows installer package. A cript required to complete the installation could not be run. Please contact you software vendor.

I have verified that i have IE6 as suggested by another post.

config is:

Win xp sp2

.net framework 1.1 with all patches

The software installs great on my notebook. I just hope i can get it to run on my media PC

  Recording unexpectedly terminated
Posted by: Steerpike - 2004-10-28, 03:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I've made several recordings using the previous version of GB-PVR, scheduling them straight from the tv-guide. I recently downloaded the updated version (GBPVR0227.msi) and had two 'failed' recordings, but also several good ones.

I setup to record 3 shows; 12:30am-1am; 9am-9:30am; and 10am-10:30am.  I have pre-show and post-show minutes set to 3.

The first show recorded 12:27-1:03; second show 8:57-9:33; but third show recorded 9:57-10:00 - only three minutes, ENDING and the end of the 'pre-show' period.

But in the 'Recordings' list, the third show shows 'Available', and says 'Recorded: 10/26/2004 10:00am-10:30am' and is displayed in green, as if nothing were wrong.

The only log file updated on this date is gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log, and it shows identical entries for the 9:00am entry and the 10:00am entry.  The last entry is:
09:57:00.515 VERBOSE Set to MPEG2 width:352 height:480

I chose 'record once' from the guide for each of these recordings, and nothing was scheduled to record at 10am.  I have no manual recordings pending.

Any thoughts as to what may have gone wrong?  Thanks!

i currently have a mythtv(http://www.mysettopbox.tv) box. i do enjoy this very much except for the fact that i have a whole computer dedicated to just a PVR. I am planning to switch to this PVR so that i can also have a backup windows computer, but i was wondering if and how i could get my Hauppauge PVR-250's remote to work with this.

  Can't get avi's to play

Hello,

For some reason I can't get avi clips (Xvids and Divx) in the video folder to play. Nothing happens when I click on a file. Mpeg2 clips play nicely though. Any ideas?

I've tried this on two machines. On the second machine I just get a black blank screen.

I'm using Win XP SP 2 on both machine and WMP 10 on the first and WMP 9 on the second.

Help - 350 and Sky digital.
Posted by: the_boxhead - 2004-10-28, 11:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Sorry if this is a long post - but here goes.

Just got my new PVR350, and installed it. It's receiving all my terrestrial channels through the antenna (bbc1-ch5) and it's also getting sky digital on channel 68 via antenna. Whilst the standard channels are okay, I can't get GBPVR to work with my sky system.

I've removed all the capture sources that are related to the standard channels, and setup a capture source for sky digital, using an external tuner, fixed channel (68), and an IR blaster (IR220L+). When I try to watch sky, I get no picture, but the recording service starts recording to the HDD (live - although it seems to be recording channel 4 for some reason). I'm not sure what to set the device profile for my sky box should be, but I've tried all three.

It looks like the IR blaster might be trying to transmit a signal, but it's not changing the sky channel.

Any help, or pointers to set-up guides for sky in the UK would be most appreciated.

Thanks.
