  tuning assistant
Posted by: stefan - 2004-10-29, 10:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Well, I wrote in the "dutch cable" topic that it works for sweden too. And it does, it's just that when I was going to do it for real this time (I've only added a few channels before, to try things) the darn assistant won't help me =)

For some reason it seems that all the channels I'm interested in happen(?) to have the same channel numbers as they do in WinTv2000. Except for one. So, I do my EPG update, and then change the channel numbers to the ones taken off wintv2000. Now, I have this last channel, "kanal5" to enter channel number for. I start the tuning assistant for some help, but it crashes, with the fun "send error report to microsoft"-window. Now, I know that wouldn't help :-)

Sub, are there any log files that could help you help me understand what the problem is? Would it help if I sent you the error report that Microsoft wants? =)

  disturbing mouse-pointer in screen?
Posted by: alexey - 2004-10-29, 09:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

You are comfortably sitting in your couch.
You start your movie ...
... the mousepointer is in the middle of your screen.
my program at "http://www.kima.at/setcursor.exe" moves away the cursor.

in my irremote.ini for the hauppauge-remote in the [GB-PVR] section:
BLUE={run(C:\Programme\setcursor.exe)}

solves the problem.

Posted by: bumpychef - 2004-10-29, 03:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I just installed GB-PVR and got everything working correctly except, when i press live tv it just sits there for about 30 seconds and then lets me move around the menu again. i know my PVR-250 works because i used the turner program and it went through every channal and i saw live tv. any help would be great (p.s. i am pretty green with this PVR i have succesfully installed mythtv, but i know nothing about how this one works)

  Config questions
Posted by: pcostanza - 2004-10-29, 03:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Where can one find a help or instruction file for the config section...specifically the Misc. section? I would like to know exactly what 'prompt for resume' and 'use SBE for live tv if available' is.

Also, how is it possible that I can record while my system is in standby?

Thanks as always for your super help.

Playback of FM Radio or MP3 through my TV
Posted by: -x- - 2004-10-28, 11:23 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Dear all,

my wish:
I wish to get the MP3s from my music library and/or the currently received FM Radio program to be streamed to the PVR350. For the first iteration I would not mind the screen being black ;-) Second interation could create a video channel from algorithms like the itunes visualisation or the modules from winamp's AVS.
I'd love to do this as a plugin if that's not currently on the list for the next few months.

background:
What I did manage in GraphEdit so far was to create a temp mpeg file from a Fm radio reception (yes, image pitch-black) and at the same time start another instance of Graphedit playing back the same mpeg file (with the Hauppauge File Reader) to my TV. A little delay but it works.

A bit off wishlist topic:
I'd like to understand how I could get rid of the temp file but instead connect the two graphs in one instance of Graphedit?
Finding a set of files named like "livetv-5-1.mpg" indicates to me that there must be a file as buffer in between with the Hauppauge drivers. Trying to link the graphs directly gives me an "PIN incompatible" type of message. Which on a more general note always brings me down to the question: How do I know/find out whether PINS are compatible with each other and what media/stream they carry? I'm happy to email the graphs I am using (which is no rocket science at all) if one is interested.

Christoph

PS Details on the graphs
record graph:
[Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture.Capture]-->
[Hauppauge WinTV File Writer.Input]
produces MPEGTemp.mpg

playback graph
[Hauppauge WinTV File Writer.Output]-->
[Hauppauge WinTV PCI II Decoder.Video/Muxed In]
reads MPEGTemp.mpg

So why not
[Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture.Capture]-->
[Hauppauge WinTV PCI II Decoder.Video/Muxed In]
(maybe with some intermediate filters...)?[Image: rock.gif]?

Bugs, or are they only "nice-to-have's"?
Posted by: eurojojo - 2004-10-28, 11:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

* Europe enters winter-time next Sunday evening at 3 am. Did I see it right that GB-PVR already counts on winter-time starting midnight? I want to record a show that starts on daylight saving time, and ends on "normal time", and I see the start-time going one hour early, but maybe I did something wrong.

* GB-PVR accepts "UTC" as time zone. Would it be possible if GB-PVR accepts "CET" (Central European Time, which is GMT+1 or GMT+2 depending on the season) as well?

* For some PPV I enter programming dates manually, waiting my own XMLTV-grabber. I noticed that if I make a mistake, once a show is entered in the GB-PVR database with "update EPG", there is no chance to correct it. If I change the XML source file, and push "update EPG", the changes are not recorded. Does this mean that for other users, if a show is moved to an earlier hour, and the XMLTV data changes, GB-PVR does not take up these changes?

* I have one PVR-350 card, with which I can record all "analogue" broadcasts. I am hooking up my digital cable set-top-box to a fixed analogue channel as well, which will be controlled via an infra-red transmitter by GB-PVR. This means that in the configuration I have 2 capture sources, both coming from the same PVR-350 card. So far, so good. The GB-PVR status tray displays 2 tuners, which is a bit strange, since I clearly said that both are connected to "Capture Device #1". But that does not constitute a problem. There IS a problem when entering shows. Apparently GB-PVR looks at the number of tuners to handle collisions, instead of the "capture device".

All the best,

Joost

button to jump to now in tv guide
Posted by: reven - 2004-10-28, 08:56 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

i wish there was a button, color or otherwise, which i could press to jump back to the current time. i always go forward on a channel, then go see whats on another channel down a page and the easiest way to do it at the moment is to exit the tv guide and go back into it, just be nice if a button could do this.
