im running a celeron d 330 with 256 ram, and most of the time it seems to be enough, but i just got my pvr-350 (and running, different story) and well changing channels and sometime the popups (miniguide, menu etc) seems to take a while 2-5 seconds, not a long time but slow still. i was just wondering if getting another 256meg would improve this proformance, and if so by how much?, most of the ram is in use now when running gbpvr.
ok i just got my new pvr350 and still i cant capture any video, i do autoscan using hauppauges program and nothing is found, tried using ever possible combination pal-b, antenna, cable, pal-m etc. im in nz so should be using pal-b. i cant even get svideo input. i have the latest drivers and everything else works.
my setup is celeron d330, ram 256 pc400, 40gb ata + 120 sata hdd, radeon ve 64megs.
i have no idea whats wrong, im trying everything. i thought it was the card at first and sent it back to manufacturing and they sent me a brand spanking new one, and still the same problem. tried 3 different pci slots (including first two like said in manual). tried in 3 different computers (all runing win xp, one with sp1, two with sp2).
theres nothing to conflict, software side, its a fresh install.
TOPIC Should be Playback mods (I can't type today).
Two items I would like to see, again these are coming from the Tivo world...
- Multiple Fast forward speeds. Â The current FF speed is a bit slow, and if you use the skip, you end up jumping back and forth over what you want to see. Â
- When a recording has reached the end prompt if you want to delete it. Â Chances are you do, so why make the user go through a few more screen to clean up...
Anyone have a problem with GBPVR.exe dying after about 2 days? Â It looks like the service stayed up and is still functioning. Â I went to view a recording and it started and showed me the OSD with the commercials marked up, etc. Â But then it just died. Â Nothing on the remote worked, etc. Â I Remoted over the box and the GB-PVR screen was just black (No note about playing video etc). Â I closed the app and got one of those standard MS errors where they want you to send them the info...
After restarting the app back it seems fine now.
Here is a chunk at the end of my gbpvr.exe.log:
